Never saw a number like this and thought it was odd.

im also from Ontario, Canada and they have been calling everyday for the passed two weeks. when i first picked up there was no answer, now i just don't bother.

just received a call from 1234567890...did not answered...trois-rivieres, quebec

all this number means is that it is coming from someone who uses skype. It is not a scam, I use the program everyday as a business line. Some scammers may use it, but it does not mean this is always the case. No reason to be scared to pick up these calls. And, if someone does place unwanted calls to your number, just contact skype.

Also from Ontario. Several calls from this number.
We simply do not pick up if we don't know who it is.
We will not deal with telemarketers and do not believe
we should have to pay for a service to stop them calling.
DO NOT CALL list is coming, but it's not enough. I don't
want ANY unsolicited calls on a phone that I am paying for.
No one is going to call and give you something for nothing.

123-456-789 sounds that more than likely it's a call center
in india.

This number phones many times a month. Very annoying!

got a call from this number and it it was on my voice mail it was from a credit card company trying to lower my intrest rate, i don't even have a credit card

They called me today at 1:29 pm!! They asked me if I owned any credit cards! I asked them to identify themselves but they kepy on asking me for my name. Basically sent the to hell....Then I contacted my phone company and they advised me not to answer these calls and report it the police.

I gotten the credit card message over and over. They leave messages at work and I get them at home. After tring the discontinue option, today I pressed one to talk to an operator and then tried to tell him to remove me from all list my number may be on. he hung up on me. I wasn't even using my @#$% OFF voice. The nerve they have hang up on us.

Just got one a moment ago from this number I did not answer.. It is now blocked.  I am in Winnipeg Manitoba

Have been receiving calls from this number too many times I wish the telephone companies like Bell and Videotron would block these pest from calling

I've had 2 calls with id no. 123 456 7890
wanting me to press #9. This I did not do and want to know what we are going to do with these people, Why aren't they behind bars

i got a call from this number and it was my boyfriend, he's incarcerated.

Yet another call from one of these bozos.  This time I played along enthusiastically - "Yes, I want lower interest rates on my credit cards.  I have both Visa and Mastercard.  I have over $7500.00 on them."  Then I put them on hold for a while... jerks. They hung up when I said I had to call them back later. LOL

I suspect these guys are "Spoofing" their caller ID, which means a preselected fake caller ID number is displayed instead of their true caller ID number... so we all can't phone them back and harass them.  I have Shaw Home Phone and have used the blocking feature on this number.  Looking forward to some quiet time at home... assuming it works.

This is so weird. I just got a call from 123-456-7890, blurted out, "Is that a joke!?" when I saw the call display, and immediately thought to Google the number. Does this mean they'll start harassing me on a regular basis?

This number (123)-456-7890 is also a "generic" caller ID number provided by the Skype software when you're being phoned by someone using Skype.  This is problematic, because while it's possible that a real friend or associate is trying to call you from somewhere in the world using the 'Net and Skype, it's also become increasingly common for telemarketers and scam artists to "hide" their real identities using Skype rather than the regular phone network.  (They also like Skype because all their calls are flat-rate, whereas they may have to pay on a per-call basis for the use of the POTS network.)

I never answer.  If it's someone I know, they'll leave a message.

By the by, because of this generic caller ID, Skype's becoming increasingly popular with pranksters and a**holes.  I got one Skype call around Christmas last year that consisted of some college student and his buddies berating me over the phone for the better part of several minutes (it was on my voice mail).  They phoned around 3 A.M.
