Caller from "The U.S. Grants Office" I knew there is nothing so general. He tells me I've been selected for a $7k grant. I'm suspicious so a I say mail me a check. He asks for my address. If this is the US Gov't they have my address. I tell him it sounds like BullSh#t and he tells me I'm BullSh#t. I hang up.

Same as above. Got a call from DC (202).The 7k scam. The guy Gave me a code and told me to repeat it. When i said no, he kept insisting. He also had some of the worst english. Finally he said "[***] off and go to hell". I managed to say "suck my ####" before he hung up.

I think these are call centre scams from overseas. They are using US area codes to seem authentic. Report this pos to the FBI.

they've called several times over the past few months.  sometimes multiple times a day.  they never leave a message when I dont answer. They'll be really active one week and then disappear for a week or so, and then call again.

offering a bogus grant from the govt. number is autoblocked on my phone now as they won't remove my number from their list. Not sure what use the do not call list is for when I keep getting calls like this.

She stated that the government had a $7000 check for but want my account information. The lady is crazy said she had all my information because she's. The. Government laughed in hung up on her.

This number won't stop calling me it's very annoying.

This number called me and left a message.  If or when they call again I will be contacting the FBI.

Someone called from this number, speaking in foreign accent (probably European), describing herself from governmental department. That I was chosen among 1700ish people to receive grant, because I was no defaulter and regular tax payer c**p story. Then straightaway asking for mode of payment. When I asked if she knows who is she talking to, gave some wrong name and I hung up saying wrong number.

Just received a call from this number. The caller knew my name and told me I was receiving a $10,000 grant. I asked her if she sent me an email and immediately hung up on me. Recently I applied for a scholarship on a legitimate website for $10,000 dollars. I find it strange that this women knew my name, and that I applied for a scholarship.

Just got off the line with this guy "Kevin Peterson".  I only answered because I am expecting phone calls from unknown numbers in order to discuss job opportunities in other states.  This guy had an Arab accent and I believe he said his name was "Kevin/Kalvin Peterson".  He advised me that based on a demographic survey of my area (which he got COMPLETELY WRONG by the way).  He then provides me with the following information:

Grant Approval#:  KV125
Need to contact Mgr at: 202.697.9274
Mgr Name:  Lisa Raye

He stated that I needed to contact her and she would provide me with the details of this offer.  I asked if this required a visit to Western Union and he replied No.
He then asked if I lived in Grand Prairie, TX and I replied  'No, I live in Frisco.'  He then asked me to verify my zip.  I told him that if he was calling from the US Government he should already have that information.  He then moved on (because obviously he couldn't very well say that he wasn't actually the government) and asked me to verify my age so that he could be sure I was over 18.  I told the liar I was 27 (wish I could turn back time that fast)...  I then asked him if they could send all of this wonderful information to me on an official US Government letterhead (we do have the right to ask companies/entities to do that) and he said "Well, just contact the Manager and she will inform you of 'all that'." Got off the line with him and ran a Google Search and now I'm here posting this for any others who may have been contacted.

I got a call from this number also, I feel lucky that it was a missed call.  After reading alot of the comments here,

I have added this number to my app Mr. Number, and it is automatically blocked.  I do this to any spam callers and to some

people I'd rather not talk to also.  :)

The first time they called they said I was approved for a government grant for $8000 and they wanted my bank account number when I said no they said they could western union me the money but I had to buy a $300 green dot visa card. I told them I wasn't interested and to take me off their call list. That was two weeks ago since then they have called me over ten times from unavailable numbers and as soon as they say I've been approved for a government grant I say I'm not interested take me off the list they start laughing and hang up they all have a very thick Asian accent and today the man from this number called me 22 times saying stuff like " why are you so mad? why you hang up on me? What's wrong did your wife leave you today?" I filed a police report and I called the attorney generals office to file a complaint. The attorney general said that I need a name and address to file a complaint?

this number is calling my cell and immediately hangs up when I answer.  i believe it is a scam designed to cause you distress if you return the call.

I also got a call telling me about a US Grant in the amount of $7,000.00 that  I was selected to receive and to call Sam Benjamin (202) 738-4616) there supervisor with a confirmation # LI 120 and stating that it could be retained by bank deposit, debit card or cash.  I am so tired of these calls; however I am glad that there is a way such as this to check before you have been scam and missed treated by these callers. Even the mail is full of fraud and deceit. Thanks for the information highway.
