called left no message caller id says winner

I am on the no-call list. I have been for years. Whoever called hung up,left no message. They should receive a fine for calling me.

Got a call from this number yeaterday afternoon. I answer and there's a loooong pause, then finally a hello. I immediately ask, "Hey, whay did I win?" There's a loooong pause once again and the caller replies, "Uh, sir, I don't understand what you mean." I said that, "Well my caller ID says "winner" on it, so what's my prize?" Caller then goes on trying to sell me a home security system. I kept pressing by demanding to know what "my prize" is. The caller hangs up on me. That was that.

Same as all the others .... WINNER was the callerID ... They left no message

This telephone number belongs to Pacific Telecom Communications Group.  They are a public utility who's business involves facilitating telemarketing calls, a possible violation of 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.

Boy all this unwanted annoying calls are going out of the wood work. So now this one is called Winner  Telemarketer Selling Home Alarm System

says WINNER on caller ID. Answered there was no response, waited fast busy signal then disconnect.U9

That 'Do Not Call' thing isn't worth the powder and lead to blow it to Timbuktu. You have to get yourself a Telezapper. When you pick up your receiver, it emits a beep to signal them that this number is not in use. When I see a number that is obviously a telemarketer, I will pick up the receiver and not make a sound. After a few seconds they disconnect. I have received as many as 15 calls in one day. It's enough to drive you to the funny farm. I think there's a special place in hell for telemarketers!  ):-(

It appears the do not call list is utterly worthless.  I have seen and INCREASE in the number of solictations since I have been on it.  This number appears is a robo call and appears in caller ID as "WINNER" and then trys scare tactics citing FBI statistics and saying there have been breakins in our area to sell their product.   I called the police who said nothing of the sort was occuring.  Each time I have been able to answer the phone, I have pressed "3" to "remove me from the list".   When that didn't work, I pressed "1" to talk to a live operator.  I told them to remove my number from their call list -- and proceeded to have strongly worded statements to never call me again (OK they were all four letter words) ... so they call me again in a couple of days .... and I will continue to pull the 4 letter vocabulary words from numberour rapper songs and then go on do not call complaint list (for all the good it does....)

Hey maybe I should set an appointment up at a vacant lot telling them I am moving there??

One of several telemarket calls I get everyday. Is the Do Not Call register fake, too?

Hello!!  Is there anyone out there that can make these annoying calls stop?  Being on the "Do Not Call" List certainly doesn't work.  Geez, who are these idiots???

Home Protection Solution offering 36 month alarm system.  Says it is a $1900 value, doubt that!  No cost for the system, as they'll cover the cost in what I pay per month.  They want to place a sign in my yard - guy's name was Jessie

OK so here is the bottom line -- ain't no one gonna do nuthin about these people .... Do not call list doesnt  do anything.   I talked with the FTC who took the complaint but cant do anything except tell me to report the harassment to my local phone carrier (who can't do anything) and call the police (who say it is not within their jurisdiction.)

Unfortunately, unscrupulous telemarketers use a variety of methods to conceal their true identity and location in order to avoid detection. Sometimes, telemarketers obtain telephone numbers that are assigned to certain area codes and assign those numbers to telephone equipment that is not located in that area code. Another method telemarketers use to avoid detection is “caller I.D. spoofing,” which means a telemarketer uses a false caller-identification number so that the phone number appearing on your caller I.D. is not the actual phone number of the telephone equipment placing the call.

We have determined that the telephone number you reported as the source of the calls is owned by Pacific Telecom Communications Group, which is located in Los Angeles, California. Pacific Telecom provides telephone numbers, many of which have 206 area codes, to subscribers. However, many of the subscribers who obtain the 206 telephone numbers from Pacific Telecom are not located in Washington state and could be located anywhere. Under these circumstances, there is very little this office can do to locate the physical presence of the party who is making the calls. However, you should report these calls to the Federal Trade Commission by filing a complaint online at: https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx.
