I received a call from this number which I didn't take since I did not recognize it.  They did not leave a voice message.  It was probably Amazon.com since I have been emailing them back and forth for 2 days re non-delivery of MP3s to their Cloud that I purchased.  I gave up with the emails and said, "Please,call me."  The cowards were afraid to leave a message.

Got a message left from this number, where no one said anything. There was hammering going on and then it sounded like something (perhaps the phone) splashed into a bucket of water. They then hung up.

Funny thing is I did call Amazon earlier that day about a problem with an order.

They must use telecommuter phone reps working from home. :)

I believe this is now a bogus number.  I received a call from this number and they identified themselves as diapers.com.  They did not ask for any personal information but the call occurred on the same day that fradulent charges appeared on my credit card.

It was a call from Amazon checking to see if a suspicious order placed from my account was accurate.  It was not, so they cancelled the order and reset my password.  Glad I answered!

This is not Amazon. I contacted them directly about it and was told that no call attempts were made on my account and they only call if it's requested or if there is a large item that needs to be scheduled with an appointment for delivery. Ignore, do not give out information.

I called Amazon this morning because there was a fraudulent charge on my credit card from them. They called from this number later in the day to confirm that the transaction had been cancelled.  Given the number of posts that say its not legit, maybe scammers are spoofing this number, too, but the call I got was definitely Amazon, they did not request any confidential info from me, and told me I would get a confirmation email from them that the charge was being corrected -- I did get that email, which was also legit, within 5 minutes after that call.

This was a very nice Amazon/Audible service agent that helped me with a Kindle question.

Immediately after I placed an Amazon order , I received 2 calls from this number. Neither left a voicemail and since I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know, I cannot be sure that it was from Amazon. I attempted to call them back and the number was constantly busy. Kinda fishy?  Why would a company such as Amazon have a number that is busy? It should be a menu or an operator since I would think that they have more than one extension.

It was Amazon.com asking us if we made a $775.00 charge.  We didn't.  They told us to call the credit card company. Someone was trying to fraudulently charge on our account.

I'm in the UK and traced 001206 508 405, the number listed on call-back. No message left.
The number has called several times today
Very surprised at the mention of Amazon as I have quite deliberately not purchased anything from Amazon for at least 4-5 yrs. Curious

I just chatted online with Amazon customer service (Ankit is the associate from Amazon.com), they denied it and told me not to provide any information.

this phone number is not associated with amazon , Do not provide any information. they are fraud , they going to ask you personal information so that once they give amazon call their going to use your amazon account to buy or purchase something .

Ok, I combed thru a lot of the messages in here and I want to give my opinion on what might be happening.  & I know it can be confusing because I see many who say it is Amazon and a few that say it is fraud.

1.  I contacted Amazon last week due to an issue and when you contact them, they typically open a case file.  I spoke to a really nice Amazon rep named Lawrence. He has since followed up via email (which I even have the case file in my Amazon Seller page, so I know it is legit).  He even called to follow up again and it was from that number everyone is talking about.  I assure you that we are a seller that really cross references numbers, information all the time to protect us and this number is indeed from Amazon.

2.  Now for the few that said it was a scam.  If you are seeing the same number, then I wonder if someone else knows what the number is and they manipulate the caller ID to make you think they are calling from that number.  I have heard  about things like that.  True, an Amazon rep is NEVER going to ask you for any personal information that can fully identify you.  So NEVER give out personal information.  In fact, all the years I have dealt with Amazon, they have asked me such questions as:  My name, the email address associated with my account, and the last 4 digits of the checking account we use on our seller account.   So if anyone ask you for more information, I suggest you respectfully decline and then call Amazon directly to see if an Amazon rep called you as they would have record of their company reaching out to a consumer.
