Agreeing with the message above.  I am an Amazon merchant and just had a call from one of their sales reps and this is the number which showed on my caller ID.

It is VERY possible that scammers are using that number also....Apparently the latest thing in phone scamming is to program their outgoing calls to reflect another number on our caller ID so we might think it's a call worth answering.

If you do business with Amazon and are expecting to hear from them, answer this one.  If not....well........

It was from AWS support team. they called to let me know a important thing.

This is a real Amazon phone number. There are some fraudster spoofing this number on there caller ID and using Amazon. It is easy to do. They are calling up and phishing for Amazon account information and credit card information. If you have not called Amazon asking for customer service assume it is fraud. I spoke to Amazon they do not call you out of the blue. If there is an account issue they will email you. Amazon does use over seas operators. They are a little easier to understand that the scammers.

It was Amazon Customer Service following up on an order that I had cancelled and requested confirmation on.

This is Amazon Customer service. I called them they called me back regarding an issue.

I think at least the call I got from this number is legit. Indian accented man said he was from Amazon and wanted to confirm my address. I told him if he was from amazon he would know my address. He then actually told me my address and what I ordered so I confirmed it. He didn't ask for Credit Card information. About 2 hours later the charge became pending on my CC account under Amazon.com. I'm monitoring the situation by checking the site everyday. I'm thinking this could be an amazon seller who just wanted to confirm shipping info. He did know the product I ordered by name. If it's a scam....Amazon has a huge problem!

I got a call from an indian guy too. He said he wanted to confirm an order of two personal computers for $4,000. He said he was from amazon. If you want to call the guy back you have to dial a 1 before the number because it is long distance. I think it might be some kind of a scam 'cause my dad said that amazon only emails you for something like that. Another website I found for this number someone else said they got scammed out of a bunch of money and that the people had hacked into her account and changed her password and everything. Still trying to figure out what's going on.

It's Amazon.  They just called me in a response to an issue.

I placed a rather large order with Amazon and they called me to verify that it was a legitimate purchase and not a hoax.

Apparently, if you call regular Amazon customer service to inquire as to the legitimacy of a call coming in, that department is not always aware of outgoing calls from the department making verification calls.  And so it sounds as if the call was fraudulent.  But this number legitimately belongs to Amazon.

I'm a Customer Service representative at Amazon.com, then I'm always receiving phone calls from (206-508-4051), its a guy and onset of the call, he's asking me if what I'm wearing, if I'm wearing skirts, heels, stockings or what and he wants me to cross my legs to looks more sexy. Then, he's asking if hows the weather if its cold or hot, ... then after that, he will provide an ISBN # of a book which is  0786275391 and this books is titled "The Little Prince" by  Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the the caller asked me to read the Editorial Reviews for 3 times then, every rime I start reading the paragraph the caller is  gasping, seems like he was suffering with Asthma and then I asked him if he was okay and he was .. very weird, then I placed him on hold but when I'll go back to the caller, he hung up on me. I save the # and after my shift, I've contacted the Phone number then I was shocked because there's was a pre recording saying that I'm contacting amazon customer service and since the amazon phone # is routed internationally, I failed to reach the guys that I spoke with. It might be he's one of my colleague but not sure if where he was located nor his identity. So weird .. ugh!!!!

This is a number associated with Amazon payments customer service. I emailed them about an issue, and they called from this number and didn't ask me any personal information besides my name, then resolved my issue.

If this is Amazon calling then they really need to train their staff to understand English ... received 5 calls in the space of an hour today ignored the first 3 calls then answered the last 2  each time there was a different reason ... first I had apparently reported a problem with my account and had requested a call back ( No I haven't) then  I was apparently called  Mel and was making a website and  needed a verification code .... sorry wrong again .. repeatedly told the guy he had the wrong person yet he still tried to get me to deal with him.... refused to give him any information and hung up

This is Amazon. They called me twice and I called back soon after. They were contacting me about a seller matter & were easy to work with.

It was amazon.com calling to follow up on resolution of an issue with my seller account. Courtesy call, that's all. I had initiated an earlier call and they were just checking to see if I was satisfied with their customer service response to that call.

The guy said he was from Amazon, was given my name and number to call but had no idea why he was calling. I am expecting a package and can't remember if I bought from it from Amazon or not but shouldn't he have had some information as to why he was calling me?  Weird

Got a call from this number. Everyone says its Amazon's and legit, yet I did not contact Amazon... Left a message that said thankyou for calling amazon, my name is ***** i'll need the account number and something. Like I said, I made no calls to Amazon, nor have I ordered from them recently.
