I got the call today around 6:07 cdt. No answer when we picked up the phone. He got my wife to donate $20 a couple of years ago. We checked and the money wasn't used for the police at all. This guy makes you believe he is a policeman. We are on the "No Call' list, but some of these people don't care. We have told him not to call back, hung up on him once and I was very rude another time. We donate to Backstoppers which is a legitimate foundation that helps police and firemen in the St Louis area. Use this excuse if he pressures anyone again. Let's make all out friends aware of this guy so we can put him out of business!!!

Identified himself as being with the patrolmans association soliciting for funds.  Told him that I don't donate to marketing companies. He hung up.
According to a Lincoln IL Police Dept. news item posted 1/4/08 "The phone number is a legitimate number, however a telemarketer is using the number by "spoofing" it from another phone number."
Hardly sounds legit.

Husband got a call from this number when he was home sick.  Caller requested a contribution to Fraternal Order of Police.  He said he couldn't deal with this because he was sick.  After he told me I recalled a woman in a neighboring suburb who said her credit card number was stolen after making a contribution, husband asked me to check number of caller.  Then I search and find THIS!  I am confident the caller was a fraud.

Got the call today around 5:50pm. Caller ID said it all. I'm a police Detective Lieutenant and I can tell you that I never donate to any of these type of "Law Enforcement" organizations. It's bogus. What happens is some small police group contracts out to companies like this one who call on Behalf of the "FOP", "Troopers Association", "Mickey Mouse Police Group", etc. They then give the group about 10 to 15 cents on the dollar for every $1 donated. So that in itself is a scam! Then they "demon dial" numbers across the midwest or US for funds. A lot of scammers also soicit as Fire Department fundraisers. Just hang up when they call. I once got a tele-marketer call back which I forwarded over to the local FBI office via my speed dial button. That stopped 'em for about 3 years. LOL!

DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! THIS IS 17 year old LAW ENFORCEMENT UNION and is completely LEGAL and LEGITAMENT. IT is the Illinois Police Patrolmen Association, headquatered out of Elmhurst, Il. If you take the time to ask questions and EDUCATE yourselve's this would not even be an issue. I guarantee you that the "detective" above is an active member of a union, but since it is not the one he belongs to he bad mouths them. That is pretty sad!!! I thought law enforcement and firefighters were apart of an unspoken "Brotherhood".

This number is listed to Amanda Davenport of Lincoln, IL, which is a suburb of Springfield.  It certainly is not Elmhurst!  Had a call today, no message left.  Saw it on caller ID

I got this call today at about 10:56am 6/16/2008 the last entry here is from january i thought this was someone i knew because i now people down that way in in springfield i was really surprised to find this website i guess this problem has'nt been squashed yet i missed the call because i was working but they've called several times before

Caller ID showed "Illinois" and then it showed number 217-735-2128, I tho it is from state of illinois  , turn out it was a scam telemarkeeter, since , my name and number is not on the directory, so I assume that person probably worked for Illinois Dept of Revenue, since , she possible had or have database of Illinois taxpaer name and address. you'all been warned. You' all can't trust no one, not even your mama or daddy. This is mad!!!! carzy 'tarded people treated us like a sane idiot for nothing!

rang, andswered it, they hung up. I called it back  and same thing, mail box is full.  The number is from Verizon Company.  I will try to contact them. And see what they say.

According to Verizon who is the phone company, they will not do anything to thier client without a court order.  They tell you to call your local police departmetn, file a report, then call your telephone company (At&t, Verizon, Sprint, etc.) and ask to speak to your company's harrassment and unlawful call center. But they said you better do that after you have go get a police report, officers name, report number and (exaggerating) your life insurance info, your child's shot records, all your medical records, dirver's lic. no. yadda yadda yadda.  Basically you will be on the phone for hours and hours to get this idiot in trouble and possibly make this person (or persons) lose their telephone priveliges.

and then mail them to your local congressperson (politically correct)with a letter explaining why you are sending all this to them.

reverse caller ID says its from an AMANADA DAVENPORT how's that for a phony name. LOL Maybe i should change my name to Phil Pennsylvania. I'll just add her to my list of blocked numbers.

Idiot called in the middle of a recording session.  Must be nuts or something.  One MORE call and I will file charges.

I got a second call from that number in about as many weeks. I went ahead and blocked it. Scumbag.

I got this call yesterday and actually did some real research, unlike the individuals above. This is an 16 year old law enforcement union, The IPPA, Illinois Police Patrolmen Association. Your caller ID displays whatever your local phone carrier has on file. So tell them to update their files and actually do some research, you mind find the REAL truth....
