called twice no message left

I know that calls from this number have been going on for almost 2 years now.  The Lincoln PD has checked the phone # and address associated with it.  It is not coming from Lincoln or the FOP fundraisers.  The phone company has told them that the caller is able to "spoof" caller ID and that the calls are coming from Texas.

This number calls all the time...I never pick up and they never leave a message. I called back and got a machine that said..sorry I missed your call! LOL

This number called and asked for me and when I answered they hung up not 10 minutes ago they didnt say anything just hung up on me. I reported this to the local sherriffs office.

how can this bulls*** be legal

call your local congressman and detail what an incredible nuisance this is and that it needs to be outlawed and punished severely

I told this guy off once...he was very belligerent.  I'll give him a better piece of my mind next time.

Just got home and there was a message from this number...some guy yelling something about Illinois people.  Very nasty sounding.

I received a call from this number telling me that they wanted to send me Police decals for my front window from my Police Dept. I hung up & called my Police Dept. & found out that they weren't solicitating at the time. Don't give money or info!

Called, I saw on caller ID, didn't answer. They hung up after four rings when answering machine kicks in - left no message. The same number hs called before. would love to block a list of numbers but the phone company will not allow!

This activity has not stopped.  My elderly father (age 91, nearly blind, living alone) received one of these calls shortly before 5:30 p.m. today (1-21-09).  He tried to answer on his portable phone but, when no one responded, I tried to help him by answering on his other extension.  There was no one on the other end, no dial tone, nothing.  After we hung up, we tried to call the number back and got the same "voice mail full" response that others have reported here.

I also did a reverse-phone lookup on switchboard.com, and found the phone line listed to an "Amanda Davenport" in Lincoln, IL.  Entering those search terms into Google brought me to this page, and I also phoned in a report of this incident to the Lincoln, IL police department to let them know that this
fraud?/harassment? is still happening.

 I also intend to report the incident this week to the consumer fraud division in the office of IL Attorney General Lisa Madigan. If they do not already have a file on this individual(s), I will encourage them to open one.

 I find this kind of practice detestable, and those who target the elderly with their frauds to be especially odious . . and obscene!  If you have any more information about this, please forward it to the Lincoln IL Police Department and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan for their further investigation.

got a call from this number today.  My son answered and he knew him by name.  Then asked for me by name.  Said he was Officer Brad Brown and had to talk to me.  I tried calling the number back - got a anwering machine "Sorry I missed your call" hung on for a minute then it said mail box full.  Looked the number up on anywho.com and got it listed under A Davenport and that is what my called id said.  Lived on state street in lincoln illinois

Answered our land line which showed the called id as 217-735-2128, but no one answered and only got a dial tone. We are listed on the gov do not call list.

this number called on July 30, 2009 @3:09pm, I couldn't answer so I called back to check who it was, then I got this message "I have reach a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service" I thought that was weird so I went online to check it, but I got the same answered as everyone else the number being from Lincoln IL.
It has to be a scam so just don't answer..!!

Did not answer.  My caller ID said Illinois Call.

called at 3:02 pm but did not leave a message

Called.  Heard voices in the background and then hung up on answering machine.

called and left no message. called number back, automated system stated it had been disconected
