Got a call-didn't answer caller ID showed ABT SERI. My take is that any legit business will leave a name and number. I won't be answering no matter how many times they call.

I got a call from this number. Caller ID says SRBI. The lady on the other end said she was calling on behalf of the US Department of Citizenship or something like that. She was looking to talk to my mother, who was not home at the time. Said she would call back later but I have not received another call from this number since.

    Annoyed with stupid people
Ha ha, most of you are idiots that have no clue what you are talking about, Especially the "investigator", "Robert". You must be one hell of an investigator. There is something you should know about the government, if there is something they need done, they look for the cheapest way to do it. If there is a company that will perform research for a lower price than what it would cost them to do it themselves, then they are going to use that company. Also if any of you had any intelligence whatsoever you would do a little research yourselves and see that this company is a member of CASRO and consider confidentiality to be of utmost importance. Maybe you people should actually look into the company a little before you actually start bashing it.

Just got a call from this number a few hours ago, called back 3 more times, each time we answered no one was there.

Don't appreciate it considering its my daughters phone and she has to get up early in the morning.

Not really complaining, don't even mind answering surveys, but I don't like it when my daughter or I answer and no one says anything.

It'd be nice if they'd atleast get their calling schedules straightened out.

    Annoyed
Been getting calls from this very annoying monstrosity for the past few weeks..
We did (Like fools) answer the phone once and politely responded that we did not want to participate and to please stop calling us.. Sure enough the calls continue.. Always at the best times.. When they think you are home... Eating dinner, relaxing at about 7 or 8...
With babies.. Get a clue... Big brother has many other other ways of finding out every aspect of our lives.. Let them continue with their clandestine "legal" invasions of our privacy and leave my conceived version of freedom and privacy without interruption from obtrusive, annoying and useless "legit" phone surveys.
The best thing is.. I'm sure I'm paying for this with my tax dollars...

I have also received numerous calls while not at home, with no message.  While at home I answered and the caller said he was conducting a survey.  I told them that I was not interested, and not to call again.  Received a call again the following night, telling me that I did not let them finish telling me what they were calling about.  Asked for a supervisor, Michelle Buchannan (although I doubt it) said that the previous call was miscoded and they would not call again.  She referred me to another number 212-779-7700, where similar comments were made.  Contacted AT&T for assistance, they were useless.  They recommended that I contact the Fair Trade Commission.

I have finally decided what gift I would like for Christmas.  The home numbers each individual that makes these call!

This is obviously a big company with a lot of influence that is protecting them. They are not allowed to call and have it go dead. This is harassment.

    For company information:
    http://www.srbi.com/practice_groups.html

For a form to fill out to complain:
    http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/1088D-R.pdf

Unfortunately the only effective method is the "I'm mad and I'm not going to take it anymore" response.
ie. Set a time and day and have everybody flood their company lines in New York, Washington, and Florida until they get the message that there is a right way and a wrong way to conduct their business.

Called on 1/22 about a sports survey, told not to call back. Called 1/23, did not answer. Called again on 1/24, got into a heated discussion about not calling me back again. He told me they were actually employed by Kelemen and Associates in New York City to do research, and that they were exempt from do not call list, but he would do everything to document and try not to disturb me again, but no guarantees since we were randomly dialed. How am I being randomly dialed 3 days in a row. It is not statistically possible, unless of course you have a very specialized list with very few individuals in your sample size (meeting certain criteria). Well be forewarned. The next time, and every other time you call me, I am going to blow your eardrums out with a whistle. You will be seeing a E.N.T. every week to get your hearing back, so I suggest you invest in Beltone.

The Disney Vacation scam is now in Federal Court with a class action law suit against them, and I can do the same. My attorney is free, how much does yours charge by the hour?

Hey "also annoyed with crybabies"- If you bothered to get off your lazy rear end and take a  basic statistics course, then you would realize that the chances of being "randomly selected" 3 times in 3 days is virtually impossible in a nation with hundreds of millions of people in the sample size. Do yourself and the public a favor and educate yourself before you start posting on a blog that makes you virtually invisible to the 99.9% majority. Of course, some individuals can and will hack into your system. It's not that difficult.

I answered and told them that I was on the Do Not Call Registry; however, they were doing a poll sponsored by The Washington Post asking about my feelings about the D.C. government and the services it provides.

I guess the Post fired/laid off so many workers that they can not afford to do their own polling.

I have been getting calls from this number for almost a month now. They always call around nine or ten o`clock. I was nice at first asking them not to call so late because I have a young child that is awaken by the call and they keep on calling at the same time. They told me that they were calling from some company in New York and were taking a survey on television. They wanted to know if there was anyone in the home between the ages of 12 to 17 that they could speak to. Do they really expect people to allow their children to speak to them. If someone does they are crazy!! I told them that weather there was or was not someone here with-in that age they were not speaking to them. Please someone find a way to stop them. I am sending in a complaint on there web page. I am going to tell them that if they do not stop calling me I am getting my phone records and filing harassment charges against the company. I think everyone should send their complaints to info@srbi.com.

    SRBI Employee
Okay, I work at SRBI in Fort Myers.  Yes, I know the calls are annoying, but come on.  I go to school full-time, times are right, give us a damn break.

If you do not want to take any more calls, you need to specifically say that you do not wish to receive them.  If you tell them this, then you are taken out of SRBI's computer system.  If you tell them to stop calling, and you ever get a call back, then that employee was being dumb and didn't record your call properly.  In that case, you call the company, 239-278-4044, and ask to speak with a head supervisor, and demand that you have your number removed.

To the people who "know" that the IRS wouldn't allow outside companies to conduct surveys, then next time you get a call from SRBI, ask for a verification number.  IF they don't give it to you, then once again, you got yourself a dumb employee.  We are all given a verification number for each survey.  If you call that number, you WILL get confirmation that the survey is legitimate.  We aren't talking out of our [***], a lot of the surveys really are conducted for Universities, health departments and IRS.  We're making these calls in locked buildings, through a computer system that ensures your answers will be confidential.

Any question that you do not wish to answer, you are allowed to skip.  IF you are asked if your income falls below 25,000, you are allowed to say "I do not wish to answer that."  We can't force you to answer questions.

If you still don't trust it... we're located on College Parkway in Fort Myers, Florida.  Come on by.  Or, simply say that you don't want any more calls.  Talk to the head supervisor.  Problem solved.

"Pissed of MF"-- We actually do call you randomly.  Once your phone has been called, if you have not otherwise told them to stop calling, your number will be saved and called back later.  The reason why we do that is because a lot of repeat calls are from people who wish to speak at a different time to do the survey.  Thought I should clear that up before you go around calling us lazy idiots, at least we're employed.

taking a govt-sponsored survey is a great way to voice your opinion in a format that it will be heard. like on the issue of intrusive calls. so instead of getting on the internet and spending 10 minutes writing a misspelled rant about a company calling you, spend 5 minutes answering a telephone survey... maybe laws will be passed to prevent tele-surveyists from calling 3 times in a night as a result of it.
and, btw, if you complete the damn survey, we won't call again.

    duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
