I get several calls a day from obviously spoofed (fake) phone numbers.
What a perfect example of how useless our government is to actually something about this.
My folks are getting older, and I can totally see them getting scammed by these scumbags.

If you ask them to stop calling, your only put on a hotlist, and the calls increase as you are a live target.
The callers often erupt into profanity and abusive name calling if you talk with them.
Best advice is not to ever answer, and if they are too lazy to change their spoofed numbers, block the numbers on your end.

This looks like the best reason to finally dump the landline. 99% of calls that come in from someone we do know are this kind of crap.  Ever wonder why folks don't answer their phones anymore? This is the reason...

because the spoofed number is not "valid" (too few numbers), it cannot be blocked.

Received a call from 2-345-6789.  Caller id said 'Unknown Name'.  With a number of 2-345-6789, it's pretty obviously a scam.  Given that caller id can be easily spoofed, these guys aren't even trying all that hard!!  It's sad that there are people out there who will actually fall for these scams and give these people money.  Complaining about he Do Not Call list is useless as that system is only going to work with legitimate businesses who will comply with it.  These criminals obviously don't care about it.

9/4/15 3:08 pm  Male caller stating that they received a complaint that my computer was hacked into 2 weeks ago.  They are calling on behalf of Microsoft to fix the problem. Wanted to know if my computer was on so that they can run a program to fix the problem.  Caller was a male with a thick accent, possibility African in nature.

This is the number that they keep calling from in the middle of the night every two minutes, Annoyed and left the phone off the hook. Called to have it blocked and haven't happen yet.Any ideas?

+243906014875 called and hung up, leaved no message. 243 is the Country Code of Democratic Republic of Congo. I hope i don't get more calls but i'm certain that other number will call soon as i believe they have identified my number as a valid number. It has happened to me before.
