Report a phone call from 253-246-8553 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Tony CI've had 4 calls from this number in the past two days and they never leave a message. My number's on the DO NOT CALL registry, I should report it.
- Caller: Unknown
- Mikey in DCThis company employs a very sophisticated computer to make cold calls. You may not realize you are speaking to a machine! When you say it sounds like a computer, it responds, "I get that a lot!"
This is the third new number for them to be using.- Call type: Telemarketer
- merwhat is this
- Caller: unkown
- JustAnnoyed| 1 replyThis one is persistent! Has called 3 times in the last couple of days. They must be immune to the DNC concept (not that DNC seems to do much). But on the off chance they are caught, I hope they get an enormous fine! I'll try some of the ideas I've seen here to head them off.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Cynthia WelchAs of 9/29/11 they have called my cell # 5 times. Please make it STOP!!!!!
- Jim replies to TylerAgree 100%!!! It may very well be the phone companies who hire overseas spammers, who the federal government has not jurisdiction over, to make these calls. Then they ask us to pay for their call blocking feature.
- SandyI'm on the DNC and have gotten 2 calls from this number in 2 hours!
- Caller: Kent
- CRCall the # back and then press 1 to be removed from the call list

- Jeff| 1 replyI have been recieving these automated calls from "Tom with Home Protection Security" for a few months now. The calls have come from countless different phone numbers. I have called back every number and used the press 1 option to be taken off their list.
- Caller: Home Protection Security
- Call type: Telemarketer
- StephI'm sick of this, too, so I finally took someone's advice and reported the number to the National Do Not Call Registry. The website is www.donotcall.gov and it takes about 5 seconds to report. You don't have to give too much information either. If everyone does it though, then hopefully this will stop!
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AngieThis number is calling my 14 year old daughters cell phone
- LeenieI keep getting this call too, need to get them to stop
- Joe RodriguezThey keep calling about every 45 minutes, when I don't answer they stop not leaving any messages.

To answer your question "yes", if you sign up for Google Voice you will need to create a "Contact" for each phone number you wish to block. When someone calls you that you have blocked they will get the recording that your number is disconnected or no longer in service, preceeded by the three tone Special Information Tone or (SIT) which autodialers used by telemarketers will interpret as a "disconnected" phone number, and their computer will in most cases automatically remove your number from their database.
What I do is "selectively" forward the phone numbers of the most annoying telemarkters from my Landline to my Google Voice number. Yes, I do have to go to the extra step of adding the same numbers from my "Selective Call Forwarding" list on my Landline and create a contact for each number in Google Voice.
I believe your second question was - How do you block an existing contact or pre-block a number before they call your GV line? The instructions below will enable you to do that:
In Google Voice simply add a new contact and add the phone number. Save., then select "change google voice settings" Next, under "When this contact calls you", click "Edit" and then the radio button next to the drop-down box with "Send to Voicemail in it".
(We don't want that, we want it blocked)
---Next, go to the drop-down box and select the third option "Block Caller". Save
I also use 'Selective Call Blocking" on my Landline. I can create a list of numbers to block, however the calling party only hears a message that I'm not currently receiving calls. In my opinion, Google Voice offers the best solution for blocking unwanted calls, and it's FREE.
-phxazguy- - ThinkAboutIt replies to phxazguyThanks for your reply.
What I did with my annoying callers was create a single contact I called "Ignore" and listed it on GV with all of the phone numbers under it, then followed your instructions to block. I also chose to enable enable my cell phone number, hoping that my contacts will still be able to reach me while the other calls are being blocked. I also found a single GV number listed for my town, so I could avoid toll charges like you did.
So far, so good!! I had one call on Sunday but it was blocked and my phone has been totally silent.
Thanks again. - NancyWe have gotten MANY calls from this number and no one answers. How do we block it?
