When I receive a call from a new number I put it in my contacts list under Scum Suckers and assign it NO ring tone so at least after the first call they don't bother me anymore (I have filled all of the numbers in each and am up to Scum Sucker 47 now). Some phone companies will allow you to block a limited amount of numbers, however this is only a whack-a-mole solution but the only one I can offer.

Received this call today and it stated they could help me reduce my student loan.  I have never had a student loan in my life.  So I hit 1 to talk to a representative and in a very angry manner, I did swear, I told them I have never had a student loan and if they called me again I would sue for harassment and I hung up.  Immediately I received 2 calls from 888 536 1344 and they left a msg that I did not listen to.  That number is for a company from Bakersfield, CA called Gill and associates and a different website called student loan help center.  Appears to be telemarketer scammers using multiple forums to rip people off.  I immediately blocked them through the Spring website.  I have been on the DNC list for many years and I reported them there also, not that it does any good.

i answered and it was an automated message saying they can help with my student loan debt.

Called, no message.  Called back and got the recording - "you have reached a disconnected number belonging to Pacific Tel Communications group"

This # called me today and it was an autoated message concerning better ways to pay student loans. I hung up seconds later as I don't have a student loan.

I don't answer my phone when these people call so I don't know who they are.  I am on the Do Not Call List and have filed a complaint. Beyond that, it is my cell phone they are calling, which costs ME money.

I received a call from this number.  When I called it back, the recording tells me that I have reached a number that is no longer in service.  If i think i have reached this recording in error, i can hang up and try my call again.  Tried 3 times -- same recording - Pacific-tel?

It doesn't matter, these are robocalls, it's all computer generated, and there is no way for the computer to distinguish who is on the list or not.
I heard something the other day that the feds are talking about making robocalls illegal, that's the only way to stop them. In the meantime, just keep a whistle by the phone, when you get a human, just blow the whistle in their ear.
Might not stop it, but you'll feel better! lol

This number called me while in class so I quickly answered it and hung up; although when I got home I called them back to see what/whom it was from. When I called it went straight to the machine and said it was a 'disconnected' number. It is kind of giving me a creepy feeling.

I got a call from these people earlier this afternoon.  It went to voice mail with no message left.  So I called the number back later in the evening and a recording told me that:

You have dialed a disconnected number from Pacific Telecommunications Group.

Funny how that disconnected phone was able to dial my number.......

Got a call from this number.  When I answered, there was silence.  I called back after pulling off the road and got a recording stating this number is no longer in service and is a disconnected number with Pacific Telecommunications.  Sounds like someone phishing.

Received call and stated that they were calling about student loans. I do not have any student loans, banged on the * button until it dropped the call. I was told that with any robo calls, this will confuse the system and dump your number out of their registry.

Called my cell 10-25-2012 at 3:18 PM, I didn't answer it (I never answer a call to my cell if I don't know who it is).  A day later I get a call from 231.224.2031, another I don't know who it is.  Strange to get two calls in two days from totally out of the way #s (I'm in the 814 central PA area).

Just got a call from this number - said that it was about my school loans.  I haven't been in school in 30 YEARS!!!

called about student loans to my cell phone - i held on long enough to talk to the "representative"  he was very defensive when i asked about who he worked for and how he obtained my number.

how did they get my cell my cell number!
