I am on the do not call list. This time they left a message about wanting to know if the children in my house where immunized.  Its none of there business.

Got a msg on my answering machine, someone breathing a bit, then a hangup.  Scared me as I am disabled and live alone.  So once again I paid for #69 and checked the number out and found they had called me before.  I called them back on my cell phone and someone told me they have the right to call me even if I am on a Do Not Call list as they're not "selling" anything.  Bunch of bs.

They are conducting a cdc survey re: breastfeeding / bottlefeeding / immunizations, which I didn't mid answering until they wanted my kids' bdays, & for us to sign releases for all of their dr offices so cdc can verify the data...WTH?? I have told them 2x not to call, they just keep on.

number has called me twice. never answered it. no message left. wonder how they got my number.

They are calling my cell phone.  I have never answered it because I don't recognize the number.  I don't know who it is or why they're calling.

I also receied calsl from thsi number and I am so glad to see others are just as concerned as I am.  My children are adults and there is no need for them to know who they are, where they live, etc.  

Both times they called it was well after 8:30p, which I feel is against the law, as any phone solicitor cannot call after 8:00p.

The first was a woman who would not let me get a word in inch-wise, and the second was a man that advised me if I was "driving or operating any heavy machinery, to allow him to give me acall back at another time."  I politely told him "No", regardless if this is a worthwhile cause or not.

I haev only lived in my residence for a few months and I do not receive my cell phone bill via mail.  So I do not ever recall getting a letter from the CDC, and my bein selected to participate in such a survey.  it that was the case, they should allow us to call in, or volunteer to take part through our family physician;s office, pediatrician, or health insurance provider.  There are other wasy to gather this information.  

PLEASE ALL:  Be careful by giving away your time to converse with this company.  Just as someone in this post thread was able to get the longitude and latitude of the phone number in question, I am certain that tey can also track your location as well.  Simply apologize and hang up, or DO NOT ANSWER.

Its annoying and legit. They ask personal data like income but no ss#...WHY ? because they want to determine what children are gettign vaccinated and which are not... WHY? are rish people gettign the same access as poor poeple to vaccines...are vaccine rates increasing or decreasing , are we people getting teh mmr vaccine more or less than years ago? that kinda data is what the put out

I never received a letter from the CDC, but did make the mistake once of answering on my cell phone, even though I did not recognize the number.  It is obvious to me that they are insane, as after you refuse to answer any questions and hang up, they continue to call.  I get a call every day, seven days a week, at approx. 7 to 8 PM.  This has been going on for weeks.  Computer generated or not... legitimate or not, they should respect your request.  To continue calling someone who has made it abundantly clear that he is not interested and will not cooperate is irrational.  How do you expect to get cooperation and information from someone you've angered?

They can call until the cows come home.  It will avail them nothing.

I know they are lying about at least one thing.  They claim that "you were selected by the CDC...".  This is false.  They are calling me on my company cell phone; it is NOT registered in my name.

Received several calls on my cell phone over the last week - none at inappropriate hours.  At first I just hung up after the lady said she was calling on behalf of the CDC conducting a survey.  Then I just ignored the calls and there was never a voice mail message.  Finally, I answered, let her speak a little bit and simply stated that she was calling my cellphone and that I don't want the number used for this purpose and asked to be removed from the calling list.  She politely acknowledged my request and said have a nice day.  I have not received any calls since.

I "googled" the number and discovered that it is the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago.  They are conducting research surveys and it appears that they have been doing various research studies for some time.  You can find contact information on the site.  You can also read about what they are researching and why.

I don't know if they are ligit or not.  To me it's irrelevant because I simply do not wish to participate in any research studies from organizations that I am not familiar with.  I will not take the chance with my personal information.  You cannot be too careful these days.

They keep calling and hanging up, leaving no message!  I  am so sick of these people.  Don't they have anything better to spend their time on?

Thank you all for the information. Next time they call I am going to give them a bug line of BS. They can't be government CDC calling on Sundays. Unless Obama has changed the rules. Oh wait, he did didn't he, well abolished a crapload of them and added new ones that aren't even in the books.
Ok well anyway, as of reading these posts, I have 23 kids and the only vaccines they had are the one for the go green pox.

Also, they should understand that most people would not be so annoyed if they would leave a message and identify themselves and the reason they have called, and it would be nice if they identified where and why they got your number, but I would bet they get most from websites and forums that collect this information before they allow you to sign up. Some sites sell the information, all of them say they protect your privacy, but then most turn around and sell it, they also note in their privacy policy that they cooperate with authority. Of course they should require a court order to release your info, but most of them don't want to make it more difficult for our already overworked, underpaid authorities. They also don't want to require authority to produce court orders because that just puts them on the bad side of the authority and no-one likes that position. Can you imaging being between Barack and a hard place?
