It may be "legit" but they are calling my CELL PHONE at MY EXPENSE. I asked if they planned to pay for the call and they said "well maybe, we will discuss after the survey". Yeah, right!

I am also being called on a cell phone. These calls are at my expense. I have asked them to stop, have emailed NORC to ask them to stop making the calls. Does anyone know if we have any recourse? I am receiving these calls at least four times a week!

In response to the post made by "CDC-NIS", who states that you simply call the phone number and ask that you be removed is an outright LIE! I have called this number three times and have asked the surveyor to cease calling my cell phone. This is absolutely false information.

My 10 year old has a tracfone for emergencies.  We have had the number for 4 years.  This is the number being called.  No letter was received prior to the calls starting.

I called the number to ask that the calling stop but did not get a live person to speak with.

I have gotten these calls too asking for personal info on my children. I was able to block the number but only for 90 days with Verizon. I would much rather report them to an agency that will look into why they are asking for my children's info and what are they doing with it.

I read the posts and notes about NORC, however in doing a reverse phone search, no such number comes up.  Easiest solution is to just not answer.

Have only received one call from this number so far. Now that I know what they're up to, I definitely won't answer the phone. It's none of their business who lives in my home, how many live in my home, what the ages are of anyone in my home or information on immunizations of anyone in my home. IF the CDC is actually interested in knowing, they need to contact people directly. I never received any mail from the CDC saying anyone would be calling!

Does being on the state and national do-not-call lists have any meaning for these kinds of calls?

This outfit calls two and three times daily; some calls during evening hours.
They have been doing this for weeks.
I have turned my phone rings down to very low volume.
They can keep calling until they get old`n`die~~I don't care.  I don't hear them now.

What a bunch of PESTS!  It no longer matters if their so-called "research" is ligit or not.
They are annoying the daylights out of people  --  see long list of complaints.
If they are to be successful in whatever it is they claim to be doing, they should begin by
respecting those poor suckers they bother with all of their constant calling.

Besides all the boring BS passing back and forth here , what nobodies sems to notice nor care about is the fact they want you ro FREELY GIVE UP FREE INFORMATION so they can package and sell to others for a profit .

Now is the time for dum a$$ Americans to be AWAKENED  and realise how much FREE STUFF we give away for businesses to capitalise and turn around and sell back to you for a proft .

Everything you do that leaves a paper trail is overflowing with information for somebody to gleen over and sell , sell and sell with NO MONEY BEING OFFERED TO THOSE WHOSE INFORMATION IS BEING SOLD !!!!!!!!

Pestering me daily as well. Made the mistake of answering while driving expecting an urgent call. Last time they'll hear my voice.

What an obnoxious intrusion.

They have been calling several times a week.  I did pick it up and the young lady said she was doing a survey for the CDC and wanted to know how many children are living in the house.  I said none.  That seemed to end the interrogatory.  We shall see.  She also stated that my number was picked randomly.  I did not know that there was a list of cell numbers anywhere.

Don't forget to click those ruby slippers.  

I shouldn't have to say it once and I shouldn't have to pay for cell phone minutes when I'm on a do not call registry.

It is, in fact, the CDC. I called back the 1800 number, and my two questions were as follows:
Are you over the age of 17?
How many children in your household are under 17?
I assume had I answered differently, that could have gone a lot longer.

I have just received a call from  1-312-201-6801.No message was left on my answering machine.
Anymore if I don't recognize the number or if there isn't any caller id info then I don't answer.

Sure seems like registering home and cell phone on the Federal Don Not Call Register is nothing,but a joke.

I hear that you have a job to do and you are probably among the group following the rules.  But I will tell you straight up there a at least three of your associates that do not seem to be able to remove me from the Call List after a long and clear conversation about removing us form the call list.  My Story.
I too received several calls.  I finally answered and provided shot record details over the phone without providing any of my child's details.  After spending 20 minutes completing a review of the shots and dates, I was then told that the survey taker now needed consent to get the same shot record details from child's doctor which also required providing my child's name,consent,ect..  I informed the survey taker that I would never provide the identify of my child let alone provide a release for a third party company to access her medical records.  The Survey taker continued 3 times to try to guilt me into giving the information.  She then went on and on about how the company is bound by some 1976 law to keep the information private. Thats nice and she would probably not misuse the data herself, but the release and data is in the hands of someone you will never know the name or let alone talk to. We all know that systems get hacked,ect This is our kids information as a parent we need to protect them from the unknown.  I did offer to mail a redacted copy of the shot record I provided over the phone but that was not acceptable. Why?  if this is the case why sped 20 minutes pretending to take a survey of data and then reveal that your really after a release from the Dr. I told her to remove from the list several time and the call ended
  Since my initial conversation, I have received a letter with a $5 bill telling me I can get $10 for the release (bribe), two voice mails asking to continue the survey as if I was not done, there have been at least four calls with no message left, and most frustrating of all I have answered two additional calls.  The survey taker stating that they want to continue the survey and asking for a release as if I have not refused in past calls.  During both of these additional calls, I said under no circumstances would I provide the child's name or a release of information and I want the calls to stop. Clearly stated I wanted to be removed form the call list... and today I just received yet another call today.  Three refusals over the phone and still being called.   So your statement that a person will just be removed if you ask does not seem to hold true.  Feels like there is some financial incentitve for Dr. releases.  The fact that three different folks have been asked to remove my number and did not, makes me feel like there is more then a training issue going in at least one office.
  This evening I called 1-866-999-3340 since nobody ever answers the 312-201-6801.  I asked for a supervisor until I got one.  I asked for his name and the correct spelling.  Told him my story and position and insisted that I be removed form the Call List.  Guess what, the supervisor noticed that I had not been removed yet.  I waited for him to do so.  Crossing my fingers he actually did.  I hope that approach will work for others who want to end the harrasement.

Vaccination survey by our government at work - harassing bureaucrats who do not understand DO NOT CALL ME. Although I have the number blocked on an older prepaid cell phone, they manage to leave voicemails, thereby using up my airtime.
