they have been calling me only one time i answer and toll the i was busy. and they keep calling.

These people have been calling me for the past two weeks non-stop. I answered one time and told them to leave me alone, but they keep calling.

A call received from (312) 201-4623 is about The National Immunization Survey (NIS). This survey is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a federal agency of the U.S. government, and is conducted by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) at the University of Chicago.

This important national survey is intended to improve the health of Americans by collecting information about childhood, adolescent, and adult immunizations. The information collected helps identify communities or areas needing additional resources for immunization programs.  The information gathered is confidential and used for statistical purposes only, as specified by law in Section 308(d) of the Public Health Service Act and the Confidential Information Protection and Statistical Efficiency Act. If you receive calls after refusing to participate or have dealt with an interviewer who was not polite, please ask to speak with a survey supervisor. A supervisor is always on duty and can deal with the situation appropriately and correct any problems.

You may request the interviewer to take your number off the survey call list or you can call the NORC toll free number at 1-866-999-3340 to make this request. The survey “no call” list is different from state or national “do not call” lists.

They call several times a day. Though this is a legitimate survey, I never received prior notification they would be calling. No one is there if I answer and nothing happens if I call back. It's quite bothersome. I wish I knew how to make them stop. I don't have kids so this doesn't involve me.

I can buy a domain name and within a few hours have a very impressive website up and running, one that I can guarantee will look and sound as though it has some "legitimate and/or even official" capacity, but I have morals and scruples which scammers lack...  One only need look at all the illegal and illicit drugs that are being sold/promoted on the internet to realize it is next to impossible to catch the bad guys who set up such schemes or fake websites. (The scam, create a fake website to create the illusion of legitimacy so unsuspecting individuals give me what I want.)

To me the calls from 312 201-4623 are harassment.

They repeatedly call at all hours do not leave a message and are never on the line when I do answer. If that is not harassment, I don't know what is. Legitimate organizations/businesses do not behave this way.

I used to do this kind of work, nothing short of saying "Take me off the list" will end the calls. Don't blow a boat horn, don't cuss them out, don't argue poltics with then, just say the magic phrase. That's it. Poor [***] who do this kind of work don't have the power to change policy, arguing with them will have zero effect.

Anytime anyone asks for personal identification information, they are not legitimate.  The new scam out there is to get information on children, so they can use it for Identity Theft.  Kids don't have credit or check their credit bureau reports, and it takes a long time before they get to that point.  So when they ask you for info on your kids, they can use that info to open up credit cards, bank accounts, etc for fraudulent activity and you won't discover the fraud for a long long time.  DON'T EVER give out personal identification information to anyone, regardless of how "LEGITIMATE" they sound.  The Federal Government is fully aware of Identity Theft, they are the ones who keep statistics on it, so they would know better than to call people up to ask for personal information.

Also, I see in the messages that someone gives a very credible sounding explanation of the calls and who to call to verify that they are really CDC.....well shame on anyone who answers personal questions over the PHONE to some stranger.  There should be media attention on this if it was legit ...just like they did for the CENSUS.  The government sent out mailings, let the public know via the media, etc and gave information on how to properly identify the census workers.  It was all very public.  These people are calling on the phone without any prior notice????  Come on!  Anyone can claim to be legit on the phone.

Centers for Disease Control left a message asking if there are any children at my number and doing a survey for childhood immunizations... They have been calling for over a month.  Persistant Persistant.  This is the first time they actually have left a message.  Normally I just let it ring.  I think giving any information about the persons living in my home to a stranger over the phone is a security risk.

I called and asked them to put us on the do not call list. They were polite and said they would do it.

Strange for an "immunization survey" to keep calling a BUSINESS number, as they have been doing several times a week for a number of months.  We have never rec. any letter as some of these posts have suggested. One would think if this was legit they would call our residence and not our business.

I told these people that I didn't want to participate and to leave me alone.  I am getting calls on a nightly basis and have attempted to block the phone number.  At what point does it become harrassment?  I have never known a survey setup this rude, this setup will not take "no" for an answer.  I am even on the "Do not call list".  I'd like to know how they got my number since I have no children and I don't remember getting a letter from them.

If I can find the correct federal agency, I will be reporting them.  Maybe what they do is good, maybe it is bad.  They need to respect what they are told on the other end and make it final.

I called the CDC and they confirmed this number as being part of a legitimate survey being done at the University of Chicago.  You can call the university also if you like to double check.

Always... if you don't feel comfortable answering any of the questions then say so.  I suggest if you are still getting the phone calls after asking them not to call again contact the University of Chicago.  The phone number is 1-866-999-3340.

hi - i just sent an email to the clown below telling him to remove my number from his list.  apparently he is in charge of the whole mess.
