also owns a condo in rochester, ny. same message verbatum mis-spellings and all. glad i found it. the ad was on craigs list.

This person is sending this same message to everyone. He has several listings on craigslist and are all  a scam  watch out!!

I unfortunately am not as smart as many of you. I thought this was legit because I googled hiss name and there really is a guy named Steven Fedorchuk that is a VP at a Financial Institute in Calgary. I gave hi my name and birth date and current address. I got suspicious when he said he was going to rent to me with no more questions and fly down to NY for a very small amount of monthly rent. The home he is advertising is indeed for sale and big enough to house and apartment but nothing about it on the MLS sheets. I don't know what to do now to protect myself from identity theft. My gut told me this was too good to be true. Wish I had listened to it. I got suspicious when area cod didn't match to Canada but to Chicago. Any advise greatly appreciated

You should place a fraud alert on all your credit files. You should also contact your bank and place a limit on your debits, also should pull your credit reports.

This entire thing is a scam!!!   Thank god for this web page!!!   I was very close to going through with what seems like a safe money transfer to a friend or relative as he asks.  This dude is posing as Tom Keen.  Somehow this guy is able to take that money once he knows who you sent it to.  Not sure how he can pull that off but obviously he has done it many times before.   HUGE SCAM!!!   I called the phone # and he answered.  he was very weird on the phone and didnt seem to recognize my name or why I was calling.  
(Strange right, we had just exchanged multiple emails discussing some personal information about one another and details on the apartment.  He has agreed to rent his furnished apartment to me and doesnt recognize who I am?)
I asked him if he could remind me of the address and he got very angry with me.  I asked why are you getting so upset sir?  I was hoping to have a friendly conversation with what would be my new landlord.    He yelled something and hung up.  This guy needs to be arrested!!  I'm calling chicago PD right now.

Oh my god!!! Are you serious? He listed your house? I got the same email (diferent location)

We replied to the 44 Broad St listing on Craigslist in Plattsburgh. We were stupid and fell for it. He got $1554 from us. There is an investigation starting on this guy through the City of Plattsburgh Police Dept. If you know anything or would like to submit evidence, call them.
