If it sounds to good to be true then it is. Be careful out there if you are renting an apartment through craigslist. In this economy especially there are lots of scammers.

There is a potential leaser who had serious interest in the unit, but he submitted an offer less than what we are asking, so we need to start showing it again, as we want to get it leased immediately. Considering you had emailed us initially, regarding the property and willing to pay the asking price, we will give you first dibs, although keep in mind there are a few others after you.
The unit is in great condition. We know a lot of prospective renters want to take a quick look at the property, regardless, our policy is not to divulge the address, as the current tenants are still there. We don't want to disturb them as they are moving out currently and will be cleared out by next week. I’ll confirm what you probably already know this property is gorgeous! A property like this would typically go for much more, but again, I need to lease it right now, which is why the lease rate is a tremendous value.
The utilities are intact and can be switched over to you once the lease is signed. You will be responsible for cable, internet, and phone - if you decide to have these services. Pets are allowed but just need to know the size and breed for our records with a $300 pet deposit. The leasing term is 12-month lease, but can be switched to a 6-month lease, if that is more favorable. The only requirement is that you send us 30 days notice, when you want to move out of the unit.

First off, it is still available. I have been talking with someone for the past few days. He seemed very reliable and highly interested in renting out the place. However, he had some bad marks on his credit reports, so I was unable to comfortably lease him the unit. Because you are the next one who replied, I am offering you the first opportunity to consider the place and decide if you would like rent it.
As the ad says, the utilities are covered in the rent. You are responsible for the entertainment type stuff like internet, cable, dish, etc. if you want these. There are hookups for all of these available. As you know, pets are also allowed. Just please let me know what kind and how many you plan to have with you so that I can keep that for our records. And finally as the pictures suggest, everything is clean and ready for an immediate move in once our former tenants are fully moved out.
The building itself is beautiful and in great condition. It is our policy, though, to not give out the specific address while our old tenants are still in the process of moving out. We've had some bad experiences in the past with such a thing. It's only fair to our tenants of almost three years. Again, you'll adore the place, most people do.
