I got a call from this number and says it's a collection agency from Direct TV...I used to have them and cancelled them a day before my cotract expired, so I sent the boxes back to, otherwise they said boxes for me to keep were 500 bucks a piece...I said not in this life...so I send them back...9 months later they charged my credit card $567.67, I call my bank and said it was direct tv, cause it shows DCTV not DTV as they always showed back when I was with them on my bank statements...so I called them...they say they had the right to charge me no matter what...I asked them why, they said. We have not got the receivers boxes yet. I said BS I have the receipt here from UPS and a shipping & receiving clerk signature thah accepted it at their office, she put me on hold came back and said...oh yes we got them we found them in the back of our store, but since you cancelled before the contract expired you owe us that money, I said BS, then she put me on hold and came back saying the receivers showed I ordered adults oriented movies or XXX I said BS my mom is 73, lives by herself and watches an European TV most of the time in spanish, so I said u gave me three excuses of the charges, give me one more...maybe this last one will slide, she never did and hanged up on me, my bank fought for the money and I got it back. Now they are calling me back, saying my credit card information needs to be updated, I told them updated your people and shove them all wherever it fits.

I am just on vacation and bought a pre paid phone and I get these calls twice a day, in the morning at 8.39 am and in the late evening. I´m really annoyed. The only thing I did so far (where I left my number) is getting a VONS card. I definitely don´t owe money to anybody. Stop calling!!!

I have been getting calls from this number everyday, as well. I have never answered it, but the calls started the SAME DAY I got my new cell phone number...there is no way direct tv would have it, unless this number has been used before with them.

I receive calls from this number at least 5 times a day even as late as 8:30 -9:00. I don't answer it because I don't recogonize the number, they never leave a message

I appreciate all this information.  I as well have been getting these calls. I do not have Direct TV, nor have I ever had it. What is going on?  Why are these people calling. no, why are they harassing people?  The last call I recieved was very strange.  There was two people on the line, one of them saying that I was using a type of phone for deaf people and that they would relay the conversation.  I said I have no idea what you are talking about, I am not deaf.  The funny part is they did not seem to be able to hear me as well.  Just hang up on these people. It is just a matter of time before the attorney general's office is closing them down.

Receive calls from (319)274-1904 many times a day. Today I finally answered and Karen from CB Group ask for my husband by name but had wrong address and SS. When I ask what was this in reference to she stated it was a personal issue. I did not state what part of her information was right or wrong. She stated she got the information from public records. When I started asking her questions she got a little defensive. Never would give me the number for the company and stated she must have the wrong number. Creditors have many ways to skip trace people - they should not call wanting to verifiy information if they are not will to give some. At least not at my house.

This number bugs me EVERYDAY at the same time 8:45pm.  I did have directv but after 5 years I stopped using them, my contract was up.  Apparently not according to them.  They said that after I got my HD tv I signed another contract stating I would stay with them again for an undisclosed amount of time.  Now they want $350 from me.  Not going to get it!!  I never signed a contract saying I would stay with them for another 2 or 4 years.  Directv stinks and are hard to deal with.  Not to mention everytime it rained my dish would go out!!!

To hell w/ Direct TV. The most unprofessional company I've ever dealt w/ on any level throughout my lifetime. It will catch up to them at some point. The only reason they have been able to last this long is because, generally speaking, cable companys have the 2nd most unprofessional level of customer service out there.

Did you know that if the debt is 7 years or older, by law they cannot collect that debt legally!  However, these companies will go above the law and sell the debt to these ghost collection companies and that is where the inflated cost comes from.  This is also illegal!

Yes they called me too. Asking if I still lived at a address I never lived at. I said no I never lived there that I'm aware of. They wanted me to verify my last digits to my social # but wouldn't tell me who they are. Just kept saying it was personal. I said yes it is personal because I'll not verify anything till you tell me who you are.They finally commented that they were cbe. I ask what does that stand for? She said it's not an acronim.They're out of Iowa.I gather a collection company from what I have learned on line search. Found the company headquarters Des Moines Iowa.Very freaky when someone calls you with your private info and won't tell you any thing till you verify it huh? It should be against the law. They should pay us for all the stress they caused by making us think some hacker got our private info . I had to call my bank and check my account & lost sleep over it. :(

I receive calls from this number on my cell phone. there is never anybody on anything on the other end,it is just silent.

For about a month, I was getting calls everyday at exactly 0820 (suspicious enough right there), and now it's switched to 1110.  Never answered them because I'm always at work at those times, but I've tried calling back to let them know I have no business with them, and all I got was a recording that says "All circuits are busy, please try your call again later."   Finally though, I did get connected and at first it was a recording saying "Thank you for calling the CBE Group.  We apologize for the wait time, but we know that your call is important" (paraphrased) in a smooth, woman's voice with a British accent.  After a 20 minute wait with the pretty Muzak, I gave up.

To add to my previous comment, I have never had anything to do with this company and my phone number is unlisted.  My only guess is they've gotten this number because of a previous tenant in this apartment.

Just got a call on my cell from this company looking for someone else who had my phone number previously. I called them back, talked to Amir and he was nice. Told him to take my number out of the system as it is a wrong number. He said "Sorry for that, I'll take care of it". Seemed nice. We'll see if I get future calls.

I get this call and they ask me to verify my address without telling me who thay are, I know who they are now, ( I google thier phone number ) I am sure they have to let you know who and what the call is about. I would be happy to talk to them,as long as they follow the rules.

I owed a small amount ($40) to Direct Tv after I cancelled.  Since I was on auto credit card payment, I thought they would take care of it.  They didn't... So I mailed them a check for $40.  Then I owed them another small amount for late fees ($5).  I still got calls from CBE.  After seeing them on caller ID, I went to Direct TV's website and saw the $40 payment posted and then paid the last $5.  Then I called CBE to tell them to leave me alone now, and she yelled at me...told me it was a mistake that I didn't pay CBE vs. Direct Tv.  Then I got trapped in the automated attendant to try to sign up for new Direct Tv service.

Got this call at 8:17 am but wasn't able to pick up the phone in time. Searched the number and came up with tons of complaints about it. I have never had direct tv and never never never ever will have it either. A couple of days ago someone in India was calling me on behalf of the Dish Network trying to sell a subscription--I wonder if there is a connection between the two and now this CBE number is being used as a bounce forwarder for salespeople in India to bug everyone?  A few months ago I was being bombarded multiple times a week with people using sleazy switchboard numbers such as this one trying to sell Dish Network subscriptions. Looks like they are coming back again. BTW I am in the do not call registry but that does not stop any of these pushy people from calling me to sell subscriptions even though they are meant to use the do not call registry.
