I have been getting 5 or 6 calls a day from this number. I googled the number and it brought me to this site. I have never had a gold's membership, so they are calling the wrong person. The other problem I have is that they only let it ring 1 or 2 times before hanging up. I had a silent vm from them today which is annoying too.  
If you want these calls to stop when you actually answer the phone tell the to cease and desist calling you at home, at work, or wherever they are calling you. They are required by the Fair debt collections practices act to stop immediately. I use to work for a collection law firm that is why I know that info.

There should be a 5 year statue of limitations on those unpaid bills as well. Maybe something you want to look into if this place is legitimate.

THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!  They had my name, DOB and the address that I lived at in 2006.  Told me that I had a gym membership that I never paid.  Well, I didn't have a gym membership in '06.  I asked them what gym, they told me "Gold's."  I asked them where the gym was located (I was looking for an address) all they could tell me was "Texas."  At this point, I was even more suspicious and asked them to fax me a copy of the contract that I signed and they said "we don't normally do that."  Really???  I told them no contract, no money.  Then he asked "are you saying that if I fax it to you, you'll pay?"  I told him "NO!"  I want to see my signature on a contract.   He asked for my fax number and I never received anything, nor have they called back.  Sound like a bunch of Middle Eastern men.  They got me on the phone and then transferred me to another guy.  The transfer was weird sounding - probably because it's a call over the Internet posing as a US number.  Don't give them any information!!!

It's not Gold's Gym calling you - it's a scam artist using their name.

Indian man called and said he was trying to collect a debt on behalf of Retro Fitness....I cancelled my membership earlier this year & paid my balance in full. When I told him I have paperwork to support that, he said that my paperwork was processed incorrectly and that I need to pay the amount he had or it will go to collections.....he tried to get personal info from me, I refused and hung up on him. I called my gym and they said that my account was closed properly and paid in full. These people are scammers to the max.

SPAM. "Debt collector." I have yet to answer because I know the BS. Seeing the HUNDREDS of SPAM complaints and knowing I have $0.00 balances on anything "reportable" to a credit agency, they can do all they want and I'll resolve it with the credit bureau worst-case scenario. They call some days once, some days TONS + Voicemails.

I will be [***] with them next time I pick up getting every bit of information necessary without giving any. I am making it a personal goal of mine to ruin these peoples' lives and make them not be able to sleep at night. Now, somehow, they got my MOM's number too and is harrassing my blessed mother. Death to 348-347-0611 + the other numbers they call from.

DONT GIVE INFO. INSTEAD, [***] WITH THEM.

Never leave a message. I do not answer calls from strange numbers. I am in MD so I have no idea who this is. It seems that they are using a scam to receive gym memberships? Never had one in my life. How do we make these people stop? My phone company charges to block numbers and I do not feel I should have to pay to block harassing calls.

Complete scam.  Has been constantly calling, looking for my dad. Well, you probably shouldn't annoy an attorney, because today I had enough.  Like another poster said, I got all of his info without giving out any of mine and politely told him I was an attorney and that he was calling me at my registered phone number and that he needed to stop calling or else everything he had just told me would be reported to the authorities.  His voice tone changed and he said he'd remove the number, we'll see.

all the same people, all trying to collect on a gym membership that was cancelled after the first month
they wait until a year later then start calling and try to collect on a years worth of dues plus "late fees" and "expenses"

mine wasn't Golds Gym, it was Anytime Fitness... they're either connected, or maybe them and many other gyms use the same company to service accounts so all the collections end up at the same FDCPA violating agency

called the gym directly and they try to blame me saying "membership was never cancelled so charges continue to acrue"... they say it wasn't cancelled, but if I tried to walk into that gym a month or two after not paying I wouldn't be allowed in, but they still want to collect dues for more than a year long period where I wouldn't have been allowed access

tell the scum suckers to f*ck off, and call your local gym wherever you had a membership (or most likely a "free month trial") and tell them to put an end to the harassment or you're going to call your states attorney general...
their "free trial" bs is a classic deceptive marketing scheme... they either get you to keep coming and paying, or they make officially "canceling" your "membership" a complicated pain in the azz and figure most wont bother jumping through all their hoops to do so.... then they give it some time to rack up a nice bill before they bother trying to collect on it

calls are a result of "trial memberships"... people get them and forget about them, but the services company that all these gyms use just keeps on racking up the monthly dues because almost nobody ever cancels their "membership" according to their convoluted, micro-printed, intentionally designed to be difficult to complete cancellation process

then once you've "held" your "membership" for a year or two, they come a calling with a bill for 250 - 500 dollars, it's a scam and they do it because they probably get plenty of people to pony up a few hundred just because it's only a few hundred

This number has been calling me at all times of the day. When I answer I get no response.

called them back and they got my phone number from caller id.  they confirmed it (in indian accent) and then ask my name as they said to confirm who I was.  I ask them if they called me and had my phone number they knew my name and ask them to confirm who they were calling.  They couldn't confirm who I was and weakly said they would remove me from their list with out my request.   Seems they were on fishing trip.
