401-427-0929

I have received several calls from the number 401-427-0929 out of Providence, RI.  We do not answer calls we do not recognize or what looks like a company we have never heard of.  This one shows as "Vonage Holdings".  Doing a reverse search on this number was useless.
However after a couple of minutes of net surfing I fould that numerous people are having issues with this.  Not in the way all of you are reporting though.  It seems that a lot of people that have swapped from one phone company to Vonage are showing up as "Vonage Holdings" instead of their name.  Yes, it could be a friend of yours calling. It also could be a solicitor as well.  One of the people on this thread stated that it is a reputable company.  Amazing, because reputable companies do not have idiots calling and swearing at you when you tell them you are not interested or are on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY.  Another person on here suggests that we all should do a little research about this company and see that they in fact do "protect families" by looking at their website.  To that person I say "Really?  POST THAT WEBSITE THEN."  It really irls me when people say "Look at our website."  Then do not post it.  Tells me right there they are not as reputable as they proclaim to be.  Let's set the record straight here: Vonage Holdings is a reputable company.  http://www.vonage.com/corporate/   It is not a "keep families safe" company.  It is a TELECOMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION.  Example: AT&T, Verizon, Bell South, etc...  So to those of you singing the praising of some backdoor company - clue in here - STOP CALLING ONCE YOU ARE TOLD TO!

We use Cox business services in our office at least. The tech was there last night as one of our lines died. I called my self last week and it only shows up as Rhode Island for me

received a call from "James" with an Indian accent who said he represented VMS Security; I get many calls from telemarketers (even though my number is on the "do not call list")...I have an alarm system and do not want to contract with VMS or anyone else who does not speak English...

OK, PEOPLE I AM A CURRENT CONTRACTOR FOR VMS ALARMS AND YES, SOME OF THE SURVEY TAKERS CAN'T SPEAK VERY GOOD ENGLISH AND ARE VAIGE.  THE REAL DEAL IS THEY ARE GETTING INTERESTED PEOPLE WHO WOULD LIKE A HOME SECURITY OR MEDICAL ALERT PENDANT WITH THE SYSTEM.. ALL YOU PAY IS A SMALL FEE FOR MONITORING..THATS ALL.  MONITRONICS INTERNATIONAL IS THE MONITORING COMPANY AND THEY ARE THE 3RD LARGEST IN THE COUNTRY BESIDES ADT SECURITY!! I HAVE WORKED FOR ALL OF THE ALARM COMPANYS AND AS AN ACTUALL EMPLOYEE.  VMS HAS THE BEST MARKETING I HAVE SEEN... NO SCAMMERS HERE, NO ONE IS MAKING YOU HAVE A SALEPERSON OR INSTALLER COME TO YOUR HOUSE!!! SO ALL YOU COMPLAINERS CAN GET BENT!!  REMEMBER THIS COUNTRY WAS BUILT ON SMALL BUSINESSES AND STILL RUNS ON THE SAME THEME.. BILL GATES, TONY ROBINSON, ETC..   IF  YOU DON'T LIKE AMERICA AND ITS FREEDOM OF SPEECH, MOVE TO CANADA OR MEXICO!!

They are like ticks, pushy and you have to be rude to get them off the phone. I have received three calls from them and I’m on a no call list.

Well its 2011 and there tactics remain the same however the callers do speak good English. Anybody actually buy their service?

Second time this month they called.  Same guy, indian accent from something something security.  Man I wish these people would #$%@ off.

Called me today. @Current VMS installer. I do not care if you are legit or not. I resent the fact of being bothered on my phone that I pay for by your telemarketing jerks. I am not interested in your services and now that I know who you jerks are I will never ever consider buying your services because of your Telemarketing tactics. It seems funny to me that so many of the posts are protecting the calls from this annoying number. This in itself should be a Red Flag for anyone that this is probably a scam. Oh, SHOVE YOUR ALL CAPS POST. I don't like being yelled at and apparently you do not know very much about internet etiquette. When you write a post like that I know you are just as rude as your Telemarketer jerks. Tell your Telemarketers to call me again. They will get a very loud earful. :d

We have the right of Freedom of Speech too. If you don't like it take your own advise. This country would be a much better place. Anyway I don't really think telemarketing is or should be covered by free speech because it is forced on people that don't want to hear it. Don't tell me not to answer or hang up either because no matter how you you look at it it is still an invasion on my privacy. I don't pay for my phone to listen to you jerks. I don't pay for an unlisted number to listen to you jerks and I sure as Hell did not waste my time putting my number on every Do Not Call List to listen to you jerks. I have reported many numbers to the FCC and I will now report this one. Several numbers I reported have been fined and shut down because of the amount of complaints on them. So reporting to the FCC does work. The main jest of my new complaint to the FCC on (401)427-0929 is What the FCC classifies as Abandoned Calls. I keep a log of all of my annoying calls and  very detailed information on who the callers are for my complaints. Use the FCC it is there and it does work.

Stop calling me...I have my cell on the do not call list...so knock it off!!!! I'm not interested!!!!!

I also get calls from this number 559-727-1238 no one is there and when I call back it says number is no longer in use..HOW is that possible if it just called me???? Stop it whoever you are!! Seriously!!!

What is the origin of No.401 from where a girl is talking with filthy words in tamil & english.
Mobile display showed only No.401.  Can any one help me to find out the culprit?
