Same thing just happened to me.  Got a call early this morning, first call there was no one on the other end of the line.  Called again an hour later, woman asks if this is Wellspring Trading, I said yes, can I help you?  She says Are you still at ("old address")?  I said No we aren;t, who are you please?  She says she is with the Chamber of Commerce.  I ask her which Chamber of Commerce.  She says American Chamber of Commerce, and I say Chamber of Commerces are usually more local.  She says thank you and I say whatever and hung up.  

the man that called me said that he was taking information to update my chamber when I said well if you're with my chamber I would know you he's hung up

Just received a call to my business from this number as well. The girl first asked me if this was my company's name, which is the way I answered it. I said yes and then she proceeded to ask if my address was correct and stated it. I then asked who she was and she said the same thing "the chamber of commerce". I answered that it was and then she asked for the owner's/manager's name. I gave it to her and then she said thank you and hung up. Feeling like it was a very strange call. I checked the caller ID and noticed that the call was not coming from my local area and googled it to find this forum. Who is this and why are they calling my business?

Hi my local business has 2 locations and both have been called within a day of each other. The first time by a female the next a male asking the exact same questions about location, store name, and asking for a manager name. Today the man asked one of our newer employees if we "Steal from our employees" when she asked who he was he hung up. We are just concerned about some sort of hacking, has anyone experienced anything odd after the calls?

They've called 10 times in the last 8 minutes, hanging up on me the first 3 times.  I stopped answering it.

I just received the same call, I gave them bogus info. She was very persistent on asking for company information with no real explanation as to why?

Received a call from this number. Lady started asking questions about the company. I asked who she was and she said she was with the Chamber of Commerce and was updating our information.

girl called and tried getting address and other info, asked who it was asking for it and she said the chamber of commerce.  when i asked why she was calling from Nebraska, which is where i am originally from, she hung up.

I did not answer their call and they did not leave a message.

I missed her call!  She keeps calling and never leaves a message, so I'm NEVER answering a call from Omaha, NE.  Mom, if you're calling from a neighbor's house, please leave a message.

Same call to our office today. Same scenario. No information given to her. She was not happy with my refrain and I really do not care. If you cannot properly identify yourself and your company/organization in an honest, thorough manner, my company is not interested in sharing any information. Looked up American Chamber of Commerce. This is what I came up with.

Not a  real organization by any mean. Sleazy way to tele-market, scam, whatever they are attempting. Good day...... I said GOOD DAY.

She also called my work and asked for information, do not give this number any info.

They believe they can ask you questions, but, can't answer questions, themselves. Sounds like some kind of fraud. In our business we have to say who we are and our location. When they started asking personal info it became suspicious. I asked what chamber of commerce they were with and the man said " thank you" and hung up. I will always ask who I am speaking with from now on.

Numerous phone calls from this number, with silence on the end.  Today a female spoke asking questions about our business, business owner, number of employees - - - when asked who she was with -  she simply replied the Chamber of Commerce calling to update our records.   Seeing on caller ID the location of call being in Nebraska, I inquired what Chamber of Commerce are you with?  She replied American Chamber of Commerce and quickly hung up . . . nothing good about this call . . . no idea of who it really was or what their goal . . .

Got a call at work asking to verify information I asked them who they were and they said chamber of commerce the net was 405 509 5055 this is payless shoe source in a different area

Called me and then hung up.

Same story as the rest of the commenters.  Called and didn't identify herself.  Asked if we were still located in Fredericksburg.  I asked who was calling.  She said "goodbye".  BS

Received call asking the same questions as everyone else.  Researched the number and found that it was linked to http://gotleib.com/2.html which is an eminent domain consulting service supposedly a land appraisal company.
