- Sally G| 5 repliesSomeone from this number called 6 time in 20 minutes - no message left - any idea who this is?
- AshleySaid they were with Union Bank Transaction Review Department and were checking on recent activity on the Visa credit card.
I work for a company where we have company cards and they would not speak with our accounts payable (who runs the card accounts) but ONLY the person who they called for.
Sounded like it was potential spam. - Salimm MohamedA Lady called my cell phone this morning and asked if this is 'SO SO COMPANY'。I was driving at the time and using my bluetooth. I said yes without any hesitation & she quickly hang up. My mistake. I remember seeing some report on the internet warning people not to casaully answer a YES when you received call from some unknown sourse. The could record them & claimed that with some false recording that you agreed to either qurchasing something from them or something. It could be a major scam. I will report that to all my credit card company to stop payment on any suspicious activities. Please help to spread the message.
- Matt| 2 repliesCalled asking for my wife they were saying they work for Bank Of America calling in regards of our bank of some transactions that were made when my wife called our bank they don't do anything with that bank never have and never will I'm glad voicemail was working so I could look the number up before I answered
- Caller: Bank Of America
- Ashley| 1 replyThey called claiming being from my credit union regarding my recent card transactions. I called my bank and not the number they gave me and they said my account was fine. It scares me that they know which bank I use
- SonjaJust had a man call from that number claiming to be with my personal bank (which is not any of the banks stated above) ... Hmm.
- Keith| 8 repliesCalled on a Sunday, saying they were a transaction review department with questions on my Northwest Bank debit card. I waited and called my bank Monday morning, and the bank verified it was a legitimate number, and was in fact the fraud review company they contract with. BTW - I also work for the bank, so I called the inside line to customer service.
- Jane replies to Keith| 6 repliesLie. Don't pick up the phone. It's a scam. They called me, too claiming to be from my personal bank, which, as stated in a previous comment, is none of the banks mentioned thus far. And I have a call filter on my phone that tells you when a call is likely a scam, and it was. So yeah. Not legit. Don't answer. Don't believe me, call your bank.
- Kiel replies to Jane| 2 repliesIt is legit. Some banks use an outside company to help monitor accounts for fraudulent activity. The person left a 1-800 number to call, which I did a Google search for and determined it wasn't a fraud. This has happened to me once before and they were just calling to verify a few recent transactions on my account, they didn't ask me for any personally identifiable information other than the phone number they left a message on.
As someone who works for a call center, it looked to be on the up and up. Also, as for the call filter on your phone, I use a similar service with AT&T. All it takes is a few people who use that call filtering service to mark it as "SPAM" because they didn't know who it was for it to be questionable... it's not a perfect service. Best thing to do is call your bank's HQ and ask them what company they use for fraud protection so you can verify the name of the company when you return the call. - AaronThese [***] called me as a scam just so my card would deactivate

- Banker replies to Sally GThis is a transaction review department calling on behalf of your bank - you should answer and confirm the recent transactions on your card. They WILL NOT confirm anything other than your phone number and name.

- Robert replies to AshleySame here.
- RobertTheir are recent transactions on my debit card. They called again two days ago.
- Caller: Financial Plus Credit Union
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- AnonThis number is definitely fraudulent. I called my bank, not a Credit Union, or Chase bank. They are phishing for information.
- Lori HReceived a call and voice mail from this Omaha, NE number. The caller asked for me by name and indicated that they were a third party company the handles debit card transaction reviews for my bank, they named the bank, and that there were questionable charges on my card. Leary of all the scamming I decided not to call back, I contacted my bank this morning. They confirmed, before I even told her where the call originated, that they did indeed use a third party reviewer from the Omaha, NE area, the call was legit.
- Caller: Third Party Debit Card Transaction Reviewer
- Call type: Valid
- Lori H replies to BankerYou are correct. This is a legit caller, confirmed this through my bank after receiving a VM from this number.
- P.W.This # has called twice. First leaving a message. The second time I informed them this was a business and I couldn't help them. Then they wanted confirmation the person they asked for was in fact an employee. He had already checked with his bank after the first msg and also his card. This is a phishing scam for sure. He never even listed his business # as a contact. Be cautious about what you say/do...
