a paypal charge appeared on my credit card statement for $215.00 for "professional services"
listing this phone number.  Its bogus and this site helped me decide to protest the charge.  this
is the first TJMaxx heist a year or so back.

Contacted PayPal and The Company in question charing my card. The company I purchased from had just started using their online shopping feature using PayPal to process transactions. PayPal only confirms your purchase and does not ask any shady "phishing" questions. They are also making sure that the vendor is holding true to the customers purchase b/c otherwise it makes PayPal look bad as a service/company. The purpose for the call is usually due to a high dollar amount (in the hundreds). This was a legitimate phone call.

My bank debit card has two PayPal charges from "BROKEKNEES" AT 402-935-7733.  I have not bought anything from a seller named BROKEKNEES.

I just found two charges from this PAYPAL number 402-935-7733 on my boss' credit card statement for $10.00 each.  I called the number and the lady that answered said that this is NOT PAYPAL.  This is a scam and not to be trusted.

It IS a scam number.

This number, if you call back, asks you for three things in an automated voice.

1)  The last 4 of your social.
2)  Your phone number
3)  (This is where the fishing scam comes into play) Your passcode for your Paypal account.

If you follow the automated voices recommendation to a help line, it will just pass you through to the OFFICIAL Paypal customer service, an easy thing to setup (it's just a matter of having the automated voice system call the service line to make it all look "official").

Do NOT enter in your information if you get called by this number.  I've verified this with the ACTUAL customer service in Paypal.

There was a large purchase made on 5/1/10 on my Discover card through Paypal that I did not approve. I got an email from Discover on 5/5/10 verifying the purchase.The transation on my Dicsover account showed "Paypal *PC Outlet 4029357733 CA." I have fraud protection on my Discover and called right away to dispute it and canceled the card. I pulled up my Paypal account and it shows no transaction BUT it would not let me delete my Discover card info saying there was a payment transaction taking place.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE!!!!!  I got a call too and they are FRADULENT!

I got this as a charge on my credit card.  It's fraudulent.  I called the number and some poor guy on the other end that is going to get his number change because he doesn't have a clue and he's had hundreds of calls from people like me.  Be nice to the guy even tho he's a real 'pleasure'.

Oh my god there was one random charge from this number and it was $1238. 86 !!!! help ): it was charged under the credit card

my recent credit card bill also shown a charge: "PayPal xxxx 402-935-7733".  So what I did was i logged into paypal, and was able track down this is actually an item i brought online using PayPal. I don't know what's 402-935-7733 refering to, but as long as the amount and the date charged on my credit card matches what I have on PayPal, that's a vaild charge.

This caller claimed to be verifying my paypal account.  This must be a scam.  
The caller kept calling relentlessly for over a week trying to get my paypal information.
I finally told him that I didn't have an account with PayPal and to quit calling me.  Strange that
the call was to my cel phone that I did not give to PayPal.

Yes it was Paypal that called to verify a purchase from Esty.  Nice and no important information was asked for.

They are charging me money how do I stop it?

call at 2 am from 4029357733.  said it was pay pal and wanted information.  dial number and it says it is pay pal.  of course, they want more information.  no legitimate company calls at 2am seeking information.

That phone number is from a "business" called HH Lawncare.  I think it purports to be located in Florida but don't quote me.  I know the number because I recently (some 7 weeks ago) ordered a part for a riding lawn mower from there and, after a few weeks' wondering where the hell said part is, decided to get online tonight and do some searching.  Went to my bank account page first, found the record of the transaction (yes, they did bill my debit card AND the transaction has gone through), pinpointed the phone number of the [alleged] business, and entered it into Google.  This is the page to which I came.

Great.

So now I'm thinking I spent $170+ on metaphysical ether.
