Received a call today from this number.  I have no clue how they got my number and why they called.

PayPal WILL make phone calls to you. This is NOT an attempt to steal your information. This is a direct number from PayPal Customer Service which I have used several times to by-pass the 800# when I was dealing with an issue.

I recently got funds removed from my checking account with this number attached to it and the Company Vodafoneaus. I am disputing it and putting out a fraud alert on my account. I also noticed that my cellphone missed a few calls from this number. Be aware that there's something fishy about this.

A charge showed up on my credit card as "Paypal *BRYAN*. It's not a legitimate charge that I made. Somethin's up.

I got a charge on my card with this number.  I'm going to report it.  How come this keeps happening?

This is actually paypal they also have another # 1-888-221-1161 for customer service.  They call to confirm info especially on large transfers.

I received a call from this number and it was just Paypal verifying a couple of very large purchases made in a short time period, like over $10,000

Has anyone that's had their credit card, debit card, or bank account rippted of through the use of paypal and this phone number purchased seeds or plants with the card or bank account in the few months preceeding the theft/fraud.  It's the only place my card was ever used so it had to come from one of these transactions.  Because of the information that was supplied to PayPal when they attempted to use it,information that wasn't on file with PayPal but supplied to these companies, it had to be an employee from one of these companies or no security in place for the companies' financial transactions.  I'd be interested in seeing responses.  It might allow us to track down the source.

I'd like to suggest you reverse the order these messages are displayed.  When searching through Google it says the last update was the date you received your first message.  It leads 'searchers' to believe this is an old, non-active site./

Got the same charge with vodefaoneaus listed from paypal. don't have a paypal account and did not purchase anything.

I did not receive a phone call, but two fraudulent  charges were made via paypal and came directly out of my checking account.  It showed the paypal location as "Vodafone Loc: 402 935 7733"  Paypal said that someone must have my debit card number.  I canceled my debit card and got a new one yesterday, but I still had a a new vodafone charge post to my bank account today.

WTF?

I might have to cancel out my entire checking account and start over.  This really ticks me off because I have had the same account for more than 10 years, and use it to pay all of my bills online.

Same thing happened to me for $46.46.

i did send 2 transactions to 2 different compaines 1 for 14 and 1 for 100, could these be some fee? but different dates

Thought I had suspicious activity on my account and called PayPal.  I found out that if you pay for something using a CC but the company you are buying from uses PayPal to process the transaction then this is how it will appear on your statement.  Hope that helps some of you.

Don't feel bad they just got me for $497.00, it's a scam and another place just got me for $997.00 all in the same day. Coincidence (NOT)........
