I live in the Bay area, so recognized the area code as a San Francisco area code and picked up the call. However, rather than an actual person, got an automated message in a female voice saying it was the IRS and asked me to call back because I owed money to them. The message even had a name and badge number (sorry, don't recall). Interesting thing to note was that this message was calm and non-threatening. I received a similar call back in January from a New Jersey number and that message had the guy wishing me good luck in the "world of pain" I was about to experience if I didn't call them back.

These guys call you and claim you owe back taxes. It is a scam.

A woman with heavy accent claimed from IRS called yesterday. Since I couldn't understand her English, she hung up. Then she called again and again. I didn't answer. Finally she left message asking me to call the number  4152514089. I Googled it, it's a scam. She called again at 8 am this morning. I hung up on her. Pretty annoying!

Just got the same call.... horrible people.   Who do we report them to??

"Please call immediately and do not disregard this message or we will take personal allegations against you" in a very hard to understand female voice with a bad accent. I actually called the number back just for the heck of it because I am still waiting on my refund. However, after a few seconds, I realized this number is a total scam. Kind of late in the year for the Indian tax scam (June 6th).

This has to be a scam. I have not received a letter from the IRS and my tax form has been very simple for many years.

"This message is intended for Stanley down-late(?) don't very second you receive this message I need you or your retained attorney off record to return the call. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. My name is Robert angela(?) I'm calling from IRS and-in-job(?) now revenue service Department and the hotline to our division is 4152514089. Don't try to this regard this message and do return the call as soon as possible before any legal obligations-strictly(?) place because we have determined that there is a deficiency in your income tax so(?) goodbye sally(?) hope you have a great day."

I just got a call from this # and searched on the internet for this.  I guess this is a scam.

Same as everyone else, got a call today from a guy who could barely speak English.  I could tell from the voicemail.  I constantly get calls from here.  From what I could tell from what the person was saying its the IRS and its a legal manner and I basically better call them back.

Its amazing that with all the "Power" the IRS has, this type of thing has gone on for such a long time without the phone number or something being blocked or done.

Message left from this nip umber, purportedly from the IRS.  At the end of the message (given in incomplete sentences), was invited to have a nice day.  That, after they threatened legal action!  Definitely NOT the IRS.

Just got 3 calls from this number, they told me that I will be arrested due to IRS regulation.

can't find my first msg so thought i would try again plus have update. had same msge on my phone did research phone call originated from ignacio ca marin county zip code 94949 their communication network that they use is a landline called ymax corporation. they also left a contact number of 415-251-2995. i was bored so called the 4089 one. first time person asked if my name was lorraine      i said yes he hung up. i called back pretended i had been disconnected new guy asked me if my name was lorraine         i said yes he said i owed back taxes from 2010/2011, i stayed calm and said oh my how did this happen, he hung up on me. i called back 4 more times each time they hung up without saying a word. 5th time i received a msg that the phone call had been a mistake and they were not from the irs and that i could leave a msg so i left one  "GOTCHA"  hope this makes a few people feel better and gives a little more much needed info to catch this scum

so skype need to know , who own these number !
