OK, here's the scoop. I liked a 'free' magazine sent to me 4 years ago. They call EVERY 3 months to renew. Be careful. Your name can me sent to other venders. They ask you lots of questions (which I LIE !!!) because they want to know what your employer 'spends' on I.T. technology. They then conviently try to 'advertise' to your company. Some of these mags are actually good and informative. Others are bogus and 90% 'filler' meterial and advertisements. I found though that I subscribed to too many of these and the F&^%$^g phone won't stop ringing. I now nicly state that I am working in the field and longer desire the delivery of the magazine. They counter with 'digital' subscription offer. "NO, and have a nice day"... Not a scam... but a ROYAL P.I.T.A.  Use your discression.

They called my phone twice yesterday and hung up and called my boss twice yesterday.  I googled and found all these notes.  I was waiting for them to call back today and they did.  I informed them that I googled their number and found it to be a scam and she didn't say a word.  I informed her not to call back again and she hung up.

This is a Subscription renewal service provider.

They call people who have subscribed to some kind of free magazine that may be employeement related.

Such as we are a Fire Alarm Design firm that is receiving a free subscription to SDM (security dealer magazine).

They call subscrption list to confirm they still want to receive the free magazine.

    Not a scam firm.

Telecom databases show that 415-762-XXXX is in the San Francisco, California area.  These calls originate from, or are relayed through, the area off of the Bay Bridge around Chinatown.
When I am called, and it was twice in a row in my case, there was silence on the other end of the line, the other end eventually hanging up within a minute.

Get these calls at work asking for my supervisor. They're looking to renew a subscription but ask all sorts of questions. I've started placing them on indefinite hold until they eventually hang up. :)

They must look at the type of business they are calling and taylor their pitch for your industry related magazine.  I got rid of them for a while, but they are back as of today.  Last time I told them to stop calling here, she got ticked off because I wouldn't give her my name as an 'authorized person to refuse this order'.  Hope they are happy in their chosen profession!!

This is a legit trade magazine renewal call.  They are normally staffed by "English as a second language" folks to reduce costs.  The magazines are truly free, and they try to increase their subscribers because that is how they increase the ad rates in the magazine.  Sometimes they are calling old numbers which is why people with no affiliation are getting the call

The big question is, why can't our spineless politicians stop this invasion of foreigners from harassing us with constant calls. The answer is that there is nothing in it for them !
They think they can keep us busy by coming up with locations where smoking should be outlawed. That should keep our eyes off the ball.
