I received this call. It is clearly a call from or claiming to be from Scotiabank trying to sell life insurance for a low low fee. First month free, and they send you a package. Second month is activated when you get your package and from then on it is automatic.

One more 'opt out' telemarketer. Could be elaborate scam but more likely to be Scotiabank.

I just got the call too. They called me before and it was about a Scotia Visa. I just ignored it.

I called Scotia to see if they deal with Optima, as I'd been called several times from them and Scotia said it was a valid communications company for their pre approved credit cards and insurance

A friend of mine is constantly getting calls, and he's not a customer of Scotiabank.

Hi, i work at Optima Communications, i just felt like i should let everyone know, that in the privacy agreement that you sign with scotia, they say in black and white, that you are giving them permission to relase your information to third party companies that may be in or outside of canada to offer you new products and or services and to collect information, and that if you have a spouse on that account, or whatever it is that you just signed up for, that you are responsible for making sure your spouse has read and understands the terms and conditions, and that there info as well may be released to third party companies. Optima is not cold calling you, we are contacting exsisting customers from reputible companies like Scotia, AMEX, Sears, CAA Etc.... THEY pay us, to call you, on their behalf. THEY supply us with information, but it isn't sensetive information, for example, on scotia, we see the Year of Birth, your name, and your mailling adress, and this is only to send you the welcome package, and we can only send it to you, if you allow us to. we dont ever see banking information, we dont see anything that could be used for identity theft, and if you really have a huge problem with the calls thinking its a scam, you have 2 options, either say do not call me, put me on the do not call ALL list, that takes you off optima scotia and insurance, or call David Huggins (higgins??) He works for Scotia Life, and he can answer all your questions and complaints.

Hi, I also work at Optima and what the first "Optima" says is absolutely correct, when you people (and when i say "people" i really mean "idiots") sign up for a product and or service with a reputable company, IE... Scotiabank, American Express, CAA and several other of these other colossal money grabbing hogs, you really need to check that box  indicating "you do NOT want your information shard with.. blah blah blah". I would just also like to add a few comments here as well. 90% of the people who are calling you are: a) Students just saving up money so that they can pay for schooling as well as rent and bills so in the hopes that one day we will see the proverbial light at the end of the dark tunnel that is the terrible and un fair workplace that is Optima. b) People whom of witch hate their OWN lives just as much as you hate us calling you, so [removed lang]. b) So ridiculously worried over job security as Optima is almost a form of slave labor that we go home in a panic and hope someone wil get canned in our place. lastly c) Bravest people in the world, Telemarketers deserve so much more credit than they actually get, my respect towards them shot through the roof when i became one. they are people too, we are so stressed when we call you, we just need to make a quota, and fyi, we DONT work off commission but our jobs depend us making sales. You can cancel whatever product we send you in the mail when you get it. So please do us a solid and just take it! That will stop the calls all together and POOF!! you, and we, are both now happy

Seriously? Seriously? With an attitude like that you can be sure you will be hung up on. Any representative of a business who calls their customers "idiots" can be sure they will not  be in business for long. You, quite frankly, don't sound as if you deserve to keep your job.

I will call this # as I also received a call from "Optima communication.".The lady actually said that she's calling from Scotiabank. But for me it was not clear....I do business with Scotiabank but I don't know why Optima is calling me......and about life...!!! Probably people who would like to sell life insurance coverage... so late they can't get me>>>

I went into my Scotia bank and had my name removed from there call list and the [***] bottom feeders still call me.....may change banks

I created a contact in my cell phone and every time one of these guys call I add their number to that contact and it has a silent ringtone so now I never know they even called. BUT I will be calling the office of the president, thank you for posting that. These Scotia [***] have so many numbers they call from and always on my damn cell phone! Enough!

Thank you for posting the number to call and complain about this. I received a call back and was graciously offered to have my account flagged so that I do not receive any marketing calls or contacts. Hoping this solves the problem

optima 2 , you are so full of bull s h i t we can smell you and all your p a k i relatives in the background making these annoying calls. You  foreigners are the ones who can't get off your [***] and work hence you become telemarketers you fat a s s h o l e. you and your immigrant relatives are probably the lazy cab drivers in Toronto who also lie to collect welfare, god if there only a way to get rid of you people (p a k i like)

I also received a call from these jokers, i don't and have never done business with Scotia, so not sure how they got my number.  They usually seem to call me later at night as well.

I will be filling a complaint against them since my last call was at 9:05, I was in charge of a a call center for a major telecom company and the CRTC is strict on any calls made to consumers passed 9:00pm.

Yup, got a call from this number.. at 7:30 pm my phone rings, so i pick up.. "Hello, may I speak with Mr. Gage-neon please?" - "  -_- Speaking..." - "Hi, this is xxx calling from Scotiabank Bank..." - "Woah shut up, first of all, if this was Scotia, they would know how to say my f!cking name.. and Second of all, they close at 5!" Click!
Don't bother with this number, SCAM!

Thanks, I added the the number to my voip.ms blocked list. It will never ring again. If ScotiaBank (for which I am a customer) wants to call me, they need to call me directly with a proper number showing the company.
