Called them back and told them to remove my number from their list...

Keep calling my iphone. Solution: jailbreak, cydia, iblacklist, no more calls - ever.

Im not affiliated with iblacklist but it does the job. It five you a blacklist you can add numbers to and options that it will do when that number calls. Ie: busy signal, straight to voice mail, hangup, etc.

I have it set to busy signal and my phone never even rings, app does it all for me.

Only problem is it's not free - 12 bucks usd.

For me, money well spent to never deal with telemarketer scum again...

Hahaha you are all idiot. Optima Communications gets payed by Scotia Bank to promote their insurance (Scotia Life) because it is illegal to sale insurance at the actual bank itself. Thank you very much, hope you learned something.

Ya got this call last night to , It bothered me, we have unlisted number too, my son picked up wasnt sure what to do so he handed me the phone, asked for someone else in my house, i said wasnt there, can i take a message oh its just a courtesy call. i thought it was strange A PROPER BUSINESS CALL WHEN you have some one pick up or leaving a message is give your name n the company you work for RIGHT! Atleast thats what i do from experience.. so like calls i dont know num i dont answer but didnt have call display n unlisted num at 7pm at nite since my phone doesnt ring to much unless family We answered.

get call block we had that problem they kept calling and we kept call blocking them .No more calls

got the call a few times ... at first it was every day kinda slowed down when I didnt answer but still was getting the odd call here and there. decided to answer today only to find out that it was Scotia (insurance)told them I wasnt interested but blocked the number just in case.

Wow so I googled this number to see who it was or at least from where and then i started reading the comments lol.

I've been getting calls from this number for a month or two.  I don't answer and they don't leave a message. They usually phone around the dinner hour but once they called after I had gone to bed.  Ever since I got my unlisted number from Rogers last November, I've had calls from various numbers that I don't initially recognize but when I google them, they all appear to be from ScotiaBank.  However, the other day around suppertime, I got a call with no phone number and the caller id V10190538120103.  I think it was probably them too.  Yesterday, I got another call and it just said "Unavailable".

Don't these idiots know that when we refuse to answer, it means we will not deal with telemarketers.  I'm a lonely widow living alone and when I get more calls from a telemarketer than anyone else, I feel even lonelier.  I'm thinking of cancelling my land line and just using my cell phone because of these idiots. If I have an emergency and the responders don't know my address and I die because of that,  these telemarketers will be the ones to blame.  Telemarketers are the scum of the earth.

I've never had a ScotiaBank account and never will.  I own some shares that I inherited but I'm going to sell them and buy TD shares instead.  The Fifth Estate that aired on Oct. 18, 2013 on the CBC was about ScotiaBank and it made them look bad.

Don't suggest that I put my number on the Do Not Call List.  I tried that before and got more telemarketing calls than ever and had to get an unlisted number.

You folks lives are so important that someone should go to jail for dialing your phone # ?  SERIOUSLY ??!!??!!??  GET A LIFE !!!

Don't know who optima communications is and scotia life crap. I don't even live in Toronto

Got this call over a year ago.

Supposed Optima communications on behalf of Scotia Life Financial.

They called, and said I was eligable for FREE 5000$ if I get in an accident. It was free, I asked if there was any hidden fees, any service charges. "No, just a nice thing we want to give you for being a customer". SURE sign me up. No documentation, no nothing.

After that they said "Oh sign up for this thing where you just give us money".

Well, I'll think about it.

"Ok but we can just send you a thing. And therefore you start paying us, then cancel (which im sure is SOOOOooOOO easy) if you want"

So yeah, I checked their site. Their site is NOT certified, which is a dead give away that these people are not Scotia related. Infact, scotia life financial can be found ON the scotia site. It looks the same.

Verdict: OBVIOUS scam. Do not pick up. Swear at them as much as you can. Their using Remote Call Forwarding systems to make it seem like they live in the 416 area. They most certainly do not.

I just got a call from this number all I heard was a beep and they hung up. I hope they don't call me again. Good to know who it was!

Has called on seperate occasions and I have no idea who it is. They never leave a message.
