I'm am idiot. they called and tried to sell me and I kept saying no until they said that had an option that is completely free. so I said fine and she started spelling out my name and address and I just said "uhuh". I thought it was dumb that they wouldn't get ME to confirm my own information. Now I don't really know what to do.... I don't want anything to do with this. Can they really charge me anything when they said it was all completely free? And can they really confirm any kind if business taking place when all I did was answer the phone? It could have been anyone! I'm so livid.

I have received call from this number as well and called them back to find out who they are. They are calling on behalf of Scotiabank.

What about those of us who did not tick the box saying that we can be contacted?

This number calls me regularly. Can't stop them.

This number texted me and they will return my call shortly. I never called that number. Apparently you text people now?

Just got a call from them on my cell. Looked up the area code, and its in Toronto. I'm in BC. I am with scotiabank too, but I never checked any box saying people could call me. I'm finding recently I've been getting a lot of calls from phishing scams. I never answer a number I don't know,  especially an area code I don't know.

I hope the owner of this phone number dies tragically in front of their family on Christmas.

Call and hang up

I'm a customer of scotiabank, checked "no" and still get calls from them. Regardless that I ask every time to place me on their do not call list and on national do not call list. If you have the ability block the number on home phone or call your telephone provider to block this harassing number. I blocked the number.

I don't believe it has anything to do with Scotiabank. But who knows. My bank said it wasnt any number they weee familiar with

Insurance has nothing to do with the branch so of course they wouldn't know about it.
Your best bet it to just ask whoever calls to speak to a manager who had the ability to take your number right out of the system

Oh yeah because swearing as much as you can at students and people trying to raise families makes you feel good about yourself?

But at 9:00 at night?! Even 6:30 is disrespectful, we are eating dinner. Four calls in a day? Like that's ridiculous. We have credit debt but have a payment plan set up with collections (Through SCOTIA BANK) and are making monthly payments to settle the debt. Phone calls from these people every day, all the way into the night, asking for my husband so they can speak with him on personal matters. He works every day, all day long, as do I, so when we don't answer they call us at dinner time... that's got me all kinds of f***ed up, sorry for the language but holy heck I am sick of these phone calls.
