Got a call on my Danish cell to day? wonder why, don't know why anybody from UK should call me.

I've been receiving calls from this number once or twice a day over the past month. I usually just dismiss it, because I know it by now. Yet, how come they are still operating this clearly shady business? Come on UK..

I got a missed call from this number half an hour ago. I'm in Malaysia.

After visiting London in June/July started to get these calls. Could this have something to do with McDonald's wireless Cloud? Also former subscriber of Economist.

Finally found out today (Saturday, Jul/4/2009) that the caller is seller of Econimist magazine.

And they called me today too.....

I received a call once a day for the past 4 days from this number.  I am in the USA.

Called this morning to renew my suibscription to europhotonics, they said that magazine no longer exists and the new magazine would be photonics spectra.

They already knew my address and email, then asked some questions about technology sector I work in. Finally they asked me my mothers maiden name/high school as a "security" question, and I got suspicious so did not respond.

I just checked and europhotonics does still appear to be in publication so they must not be telling the truth.

Called me few weeks ago and asked to renew subscription to Biophotonics.  At that time I didn't know so I just said I'm busy.  Got another call last week and didn't answer, same thing this week.  Somehow this needs to be stopped

They called me today, on my Greek phone...!!!

Got a call from tehm today in iran(islamic republic of)

Just got a call from this number a few minutes ago and immediatly googled it, didn't understand but i think He spoke russian and I'm from Latvia, this is freaky. I actually am subscribed to some magazines like biophotonics just to see what were they about and because it was free.

Myself from India. I just got a miscall from this number hardly 2 minutes back and right away searched out in Google to know which company is it. When i try 2 call them back; beggar's answering machine was responding...

They asked exactly about biophotonics subscription, size and structure of my company (university), and my post at the company (am i a professor???) - all the information can be find in internet... why to ask me the question not about subscription???

Also missed a call from this number. The visa-card I use to renew my subscription of the Economist expired some weeks ago, which resulted in that the automatic renewal of the service was discontinued until payed for. From reading the above comments it seem that this is some kind of company trying to exploit the fact that you have been a recent subscriber of a magazine. A high probability of you having some kind of interest in the magazine means that you are rather unlikely to refuse their offer of a "free" subscription of the very same publication. Or, alternatively a company hired by the publisher to retain leaving subscribers of some magazine.

Anyone able to confirm or refute these speculations?

I have been receiving calls from this number almost daily for the last month. Calling back has no effect.
