We will eventually have it filled and signed on my arrival in  your place as I am of the opinion that such documents are best filled  and signed physically. We can start the lease by Feb 20th 2012 and we  will be doing a one year lease. I got it too - looks very scammish to me!  was the email version - reply to Craig's List....

Also got same e-mail inquiry for rental information. Questioned the "send to" address, since it wasn't mine. Got same lengthy response with typing and grammatical errors. Decided to investigate name and phone # of contact "Jefferey Carrero" and finally got this SCAM notice. Thank you ! I suspected as much.

Forgot to mention, the sender's email address was "kirbygeorge11@yahoo.com" -- in case anyone is trying to track this person down for prosecution.

Same message as some of the others above from a rental listing I have on Atlanta Craigs List.  Very suspicious of off shore responses such as these.  The scam version I am familiar with that follows this pattern is a check shows up for more than the expected amount.  The sender then claims there was an error and would the receiver please refund the over payment.  A month or so later the checks turns out to be bogus.

Yes.  I have a house for rent and received this e-mail.  Exactly the same except the principle's name is George and Beverly Kirby.

05/20/2012 and he's still at it.  Just to see what would happen, I phoned the number and it was immediately automatically transferred.  By the way, I'm English and not even Liverpudlians write sentances like these.

Thanks everyone...I've been dealing with this guy for the last few days. Thought he was very strange. Im from the UK and his style was "weired" to say the least. Not sure how the gig works but Im sure the cashiers checks if they ever come, would turn out to be invalid eventually. Guessing he gets some people to sign for the furniture from the Phillipines or maybe pay for it from the proceeds of two months rent yupfront plus the security deposit. I never would have done that but at the very least it would have set me back on renting the property.

I got the same from "Mr. Kirby". It was weird from the beginning, and when i asked which property he watned, he replied:

As regards the rental application and lease agreement, I will have it fill and sign but i will have to give it to you in person on the day i arrive to states because I can not release all those details through internet, it is very risky for me and most especially in our country to
be mailing such a details on internet, some people use it to scam, am sorry. I hope this will not change your mind not to make the vacancy available for me to rent.

total BS, I jsut was nto sure what his scam was, but now, with the check thing, makes total sense. I forwarded the info to the local FBI office.

We received it here too.  He keeps calling because he wants us to cash the cashier's check that he wrote for way over the amount.  Then he tells us that his "financier" heard him wrong and was supposed to send the other amount to Euro Body Guards... So then he tried to get us to send a check to Euro Body Guards for that amount.  It all seemed weird so I googled him and found all of this THEN I called the bank on this money order that he sent... It is a fraudulent money order because the number is not in their system.  They called three times today. Hopefully no one falls for them.

Thank you so much for all the comments.  These people are really getting good at working these scams.  Wonder how long it takes them to think this stuff up given how poorly they write.  Morons.

They want pictures of a rental to post to fraud people to send them money via wire internationally. Series of emails.
