I got the message from Mr. Collin who was trying to get hold of Diane Billy with the case #41271,  I don't know this person. He gave me the number to call back 877-295-7376 however from my caller ID it's the Windsor Equity 469-484-5750. I was about to call them back today and have decided to search them first through the internet, it was good I did it because I saw all these comments. Thanks for this!

Mrs Robenson 877-295-7376 ext 1167, of Windsor Equity, called to a number that was never given to them. Decided that she was going to talk in detail with whom she called about an auto loan in someone elses name. She also threated legal action and said the individual she was looking for would be arrested for grand theft, if the auto was not turned over to them at once. The person she was talking to was told he would also be arrested for not telling her the info. she was looking for, did he really want that to happen to him too. This is outlandish and these people must be stopped. This is not how to resolve any financial matter, regardless of who they are or who they are employed by. Chase finance you should be ashamed of your collection efforts.

A lady called me this morning and said she was looking for information (or reference) to a Nina White. I said I've never heard of that person. She said the person also goes by the name Brown. I repeated, that I didn't know who that was. I figured she was trying to reach someone who used to have our phone number a few years ago or something. She hung up, and I thought all was over.
UNTIL, this afternoon when my mother told me that the same company called her and my father, and left a voicemail about the same person. My father actually called her back, and Ms. Coleman told him that Nina White was supposedly a relative of his, and she had used him as a reference. Except that none of our family has ever heard of her.
PLUS, what really gets me, is that I'm married, so have a different last name as my parents, AND I live in a different state, and have for years. So I'm confused as to what the heck is going on. I see some of these comments say the company just looked up neighbors addresses, and started calling people in the same area. But since I don't live in the same area as my parents, I'm confused as to why they would have called both of us, since they were looking for someone none of us have heard of.

Received a call this morning from Windsor Equity (according to caller ID). They didn't leave a msg. They called back about 10 minutes later. This time a man left a msg that the call was for me regarding a civil suit in their office. They left the number of 469-484-5750 ext. 1104, and gave a case number. Should I call back?

I received a call from a Ms. Ortiz who claimed to be an attorney in Dallas County. She was calling concerning someone I went to high school with, and have had no contact with since except through facebook in the last year.  My profile is private.  I googled them after listening to the message and learned how deceptive they are.  Really strange.

Actually, since I work for the company I suppose I should TRY and state another side of the coin.

Someone took an item from a comapny, promised to pay for it, insure it and return it if they could not continue to pay for it.

Now, that person hides it, does not insure it, disposes of it, refuses to communicate with the legal owner and refuses to return the property.

That lender has no recourse but to hire skip tracers to try and find the 'culprit' (for lack of a better word).

We look for the person(s) and try to make contact. But, to our suprise, they hide not only themselves, but the property that rightfully belongs to the lender.

So, we hunt for them and the property. Sometimes we have to resort to using past contact number and addresses (and yes, I'll admit, some of them are outdated) and we have to resort to checking with relatives and neighbors and others who may help us locate the property in question.

It is unfortunate that sometimes we talk to people who do not know the 'culprit' and other times (most) they lie to us in order to perpetuate the hiding of the property that belongs to someone else.

Now understand. We are paid employees with experience in finding very hard to find people and property. We don't collect debts so we don't focus on any obligations, or debts or anything but the property that belongs to someone else. We want to restore it to the rightful owners. Period.

We do not mean to harrass and for the times it seems we are doing so, I apologize for myself.

I would point out that usually, a simple call to tell us we are on the wrong track, you have no knowledge or don't want to help, will end it. We are following information that indicates you may be able to help us locate this property and that's all we are interested in. Not your identity, or your finances or anything else.

Folks, I have to tell you that I have no less than 4 accounts with people who tell me they have our clients property and simply refuse to return it. They laugh about it. They don;t care that mom co-signed this loan or even worse, she made the loan herself and gave the property to a son, grandson, whatever. They then refuse to return the property and don't care that mom is the legally bound person.

I mean, come on. If I leave you a message I am simply asking for help. If you know nothing I will do my level best to see that you are never contacted again. I can't say that I'm perfect, but I will do my level best.

In addition, if you ARE the one who can help us locate this property we can negotiate a VERY simple return with no recriminations and the matter ENDS. We are never heard of again.

There is no excuse for rudeness or harassment, but, there is a legitimate need for our calls. Every one of these pieces of property not returned cost you and I tax money and other less obvious things.

I know this will be contraversial. I just felt like it needed to be said.

And, by the way, we ARE NOT a collection agency. There seems to be some haziness about this, but we are not. Our department is skip tracing and asset recovery ONLY!

Windsor Equity Group IS NOT NOW AND HAS NEVER BEEN a debt collection agency.

No wonder so much of what I read here is full of incorrect information and plain old BS.

This has been stated over and over again.

Also, Windsor has, (like any agency that does what we do) been sued. Debtors will use ANY means to attack those seeking just remedy for what amounts to a theft under the guise of "credit." However, I would suggest that anyone relying on this piece of information also check to see how many times Windsor has LOST a civil case. ZERO!

Sure, debtors get litigious attorneys who love nothing better than to try and take some money from someone else under the guise of a "lawsuit." Hell, that's been going on since time and attorneys began. And yes, it's vexatious. Were it me, I would sue the attorneys that propel this myth.

However, that's neither here nor there.

You folks should check your state statutes. Laws have been enacted that now make it a FELONY for you to hide a vehicle from the leinholder. Most carry a penalty of up to ten years and yes, people are being prosecuted under these statutes. Just google "hindering a secured creditor" for example.

Yes, I work for Windsor and I sure wish it were easier to find and talk to these folks that decide to steal someone elses property and hide it from them - but - it's not.

Until then, we have to do what we have to do to find this property and return it to it's rightful owner.

    No more and no less.

Just got a call from them and let it go to voice mail while I googled the number. Voice mail consisted of someone breathing, with office-like sounds in the background. Went on for 30 seconds or so, then off. Very classy.

These people called and left a message about a "property concealment" investigation at my address. After looking up this number and company name I realized they wanted someone who no longer lives here.  I called back and asked that they stop calling me and the woman I talked to was extremely rude and unpleasant. They are trying to find someone who used to live here that I cannot help them locate but the woman on the phone was not interested in hearing anything I had to say. Just tell these people to stop calling you or you will report them under the Fair Credit Act.

They just called me about my son's car. The woman identified herself as  an agent. I asked what company or type of "agent". She started yelling at me that I had to tell my son (30 years old) to park the car and let them pick it up. He doesn't even live in the same state as me. I hung up. Treating me so ugly and rudely is noway to get any type of information or cooperation! I did not make the loan nor did I co-sign...I do not owe these people. I am not obligated to assist them.

    Don't want their calls
I recently lost my mother and my sister decided she wanted to keep the car, but she hasn't made any payments on it and then all of a sudden I started getting calls from this company.  I gave them all of the information I had for my sister, but they keep calling even though I requested they stop.  What should I do?

I had dealings with the Windsor group in 2009. I dealt with Jim Houston, a very dishonest and deceitful man. First, he called my mother indicating I had been "implicated in a case and he needed to get a statment from me". She lives in another state.  I called him and he accused me of "intentionally preventing them from getting my car". Then told me they were going to an address that I'd moved from over a year ago (and the original lender had my current address). It was then that I found out there was an order to repo my car (which I knew honestly nothing about). I took the honest route and told him my car note was behind but I'd been making sporadic payments and the lender knew I was behind as I'd communicated that to them and my plans to get the account current.  Mr. Houston promised to help me get my car back THAT day if I released it to him. He warned me that if I did not voluntarily turn over the car, and they took it, I'd not get any help from them. He promised to help me and we discussed what would occur IF I voluntarily turned over the car to him. He told me I'd be "re-working" my loan and we'd negotiate the terms of that "re-worked loan" with another company called Triad via 3 way call. He told me to gather references to prepare for this 3-way call. He said this help could be offered if I voluntarily turned over the car. Stupidly, I believed him and I turned over my car within 30 minutes of talking to him. The 3-way call never happened as Mr. Houston claimed the other company (Triad)  would not answer the phone line that is designated for debt collectors to call on. I was able to get through to Triad on my own. Triad  told me that what Mr. Houston said was a flat out lie and they never do 3-way calls to negotiate car/repo redemption fees and he said that to get my car.  I never heard from him again despite numerous messages. I told a supervisor at Windsor group what he did, she gave no apology/no explanation, just told me it would cost $6,000+ to get my car back and it had to be 1 lump sum. They never gave me the help they promised, even though I was honest and DELIVERED the car to them. Don't trust these people. Just talk to the original lender. After all this, I sent a letter of complaint, citing all the rules they broke. Never got a response.
Be careful. Hope I've helped someone.
