If you are married (OBVIOUSLY!) to your husband and on any type of loan you tell them to Inform you the Exact Nature of their Call. If they refuse, then tell this person that they are free to correspond (Written) with your husband. Then Politely hang up the Phone, by saying Bye Bye, Thank You! - Bernadettecalled both my husbands and my phone today

- BobFollowing the Financial Crisis of 2008-2010 several of the large banks that were financially rescued by bailouts sold large numbers of their mortgage loans to Fannie Mae as part of the bailout agreements. Some of those loans had defaulted and some of those loans had never had a late payment. So it did not matter if the customer had made their payments or not. Fannie Mae assigned all those loans to Greentree Financial Servicing for payment handling in 2012. Greentree has a notoriously bad reputation for the way it's staff interacts with consumers, especially phone calls. Greentree started as purely a bad debt collection agency, and their methods did not get better when they acquired the Fannie Mae loan portfolio.
Doubt that their customer interaction methods will improve.- Caller: Greentree Financial

- Knighthawk replies to GavinYou are correct. I was one of those who's mortgage was sold to them. I used to be with Countrywide, who, in part, was responsible for the mortge melt down a few years ago. They sold my mortgage to Bank of America. And then suddenly, I'm told it's been sold again to Green Tree. And you're right, they are nothing to trouble and very difficult to deal with. For starters, I pay ALL of my bills online. But to pay my mortgage online, they charge a fee to do so. Also, when they first took over my mortgage, they said I had a shortage in my escrow account and started charging me an extra $15.00 "Administrative fee". I did make a change in my insurance coverage on my home which increased my policy only slightly, so I figured that was the difference creating the shortage. And now, the again tell me that per some law, my escrow must be a percentage of the total owed, and since it wasn't, they increased my mortgage payments once again. I hadn't had a payment increase in over 8 years and in the year I've been with Greentree, there has been two increases. I'm barely making it financially as it is, being on a fixed income and this makes it very difficult. And I cannot afford a lawyer to have this looked into. So I have no idea if what they are doing is indeed legal and if they are actually being honest with me. I have not been late on one single payment to them, and yet I keep getting these calls also. And they never leave a message when the do call.

Green Tree is a subsidiary of Bank of America. So much for customer service. Bank of America contracts these people to do their dirty work.
