I missed a phone call from this number and as is my habit googled the number. obviously this is a telemarketer from all the results and complaints, but because I work for a top wireless company I would like to clear something up. For the people that say blame your cellular provider: It is VERY illegal for ANY of your information to be sold, distributed or even left out in any unsecured way. This is HEAVILY monitored by the FCC and if a careless employee so much as scribbles your number down on a piece of paper and throws it into the garbage rather than the proper shredder bin the company faces large fines. The case is more likely a computer generating numbers to be mass dialed.

Yeah this Kids First company or whatever called me at 11:04 a.m. a few days ago. I didn't answer the call only because I didn't recognize the number. It was only a little bit ago that I decided to google the number and this page came up. So, all the stuff posted above is basically all I know about it. Thank you to all the people though that did discover stuff out about the number and the situation.

Called at 9:00 yesterday morning while I was sleeping, but I answered anyway. The guy started rambling about Kids First DVD's or something of the sort, so I just hung up on him and promptly fell back asleep.

called both and my sister's phone and left no messages. When called back it was busy.

I don't know why they are calling and when I try to call the number back it rings busy

This number appears to be targeting Ohio. I too have gotten this call several times and have never answered it. They have been calling me for months. At first, I thought it was because I was a teacher and that they got my number from a professional org. Now I see that they are calling areas.

Also got the call today, Kids First.  If you can't call them back it is most likely a scam.

This call was missed and I have a track phone which takes away my minutes that I purchased by prepay. Very annoying! I only use this phone for ERs! How did they get my #?

They called me at 12:45 on Monday, June 16th. I live in Northeast Ohio. I decided to search the number online first -- glad I did as I will not call them back. I thought telemarketing was outlawed??? It seems I am starting to get them lately. Is the punishment so soft that telemarketers are ignoring the laws?

Called and when I answered there was no one there. So I googled the number and ended up here.

this number- 505-247-1942 called me on Monday, June 16 and 11 am (mountain time). I didn't answer it, but didn't recognize the number. They did not leave a  voice mail. I texted them, thinking it was it was a friend of mine, but they never texted back.

got a call from this number while at work. Didn't know who it was so I didn't answer it when I tried to call it back it rang busy.

Guy called my cell at 2:39pm and immediately started talking about Kids First. Requested to send me DVDs that target specific age groups and genders and requested that I watch and review them within the next two weeks. He asked for my full name, home address, and home telephone number. Then he asked if I was over 18, assumed I had a spouse and asked for her number. He even requested permission to send me a text message. Said the DVDs would arrive in the mail in 3-5 days in white sleeves rather than DVD cases and said everything is completely free and the DVDs would be mine to keep.

He spoke normally and enthusiastically but his responses were robotic and he never asked for confirmation of telephone numbers or addresses. I tried calling back but was unable to reach him.

This number is from Feature Films for Families. They want to send you two movies for free, under the condition that you watch them and answer a few questions in a week or two. After those weeks they will ask you if you would like to purchase two movies and continue with the customer feedback.

If they call you, ask for The Buttercream Gang. That movie is hilariously bad, and I highly recommend it for those interested in less than mediocre movies.

I should add that this is not considered telemarketing because they are not selling you anything. That is how they can get away with it.

My husband and I both got called on our cell numbers within an hour of each other. I some how doubt the randomness. The caller would not tell him where our numbers came from. Husband also stated that we were on donotcall.gov. Caller had the gull to tell him that it didn't apply to him because he was not selling anything. Husband told him he was phishing for home addresses and caller hung up. This could be a legitimate organization but it comes off as a scam. Also I believe this could be a non-profit hiring a third party telemarket- if that is the case you can read them this from donotcall.gov

Are calls from political organizations or calls soliciting for charities covered?

Charities are not covered by the requirements of the national registry. However, if a third-party telemarketer is calling on behalf of a charity, a consumer may ask not to receive any more calls from, or on behalf of, that specific charity. If a third-party telemarketer calls again on behalf of that charity, the telemarketer may be subject to a fine of up to $11,000.
