    Fed Up
These people have been ringing my phone incessantly.  Answered today, she insisted I give her my current addy, she was with Census Bureau, she said.  She kept pushing for me to give her my address.  No way, no how do I give out info no matter WHO you say you are.  I kept asking if this "survey" she was taking was voluntary or mandatory and if mandatory, what law backs that up.  She couldn't answer.  Oh, and she could barely speak English.

Totally legit, its the census bureau.  They paid a visit to our house, nice lady, she asked us about 50 questions, sat in the living room, old school style.. Then a week or two later we got the first 'follow-up' call from them.  then another a week later, then another, we decided to stop answering, but they increased.. My wife said 'hey, i am getting sick of these calls, can we stop?' and they still kept calling.  I flipped my lid on the poor [***] who called tonight.  Basically 'quit calling, we were nice first, now we are no longer nice, friggen take us off the list'.  I feel a little crappy about the harsh tone, but damn they have just been a little to persistent.

BTW, Silly man who looked up the number, via some 'research' and found 'Qwest is the line owner'  this is the friggen phone company guy, they a lease the line from Qwest.

    Anyhow, scam?....no.... annoying....very!

The US Census Bureau is the best example going of how badly our Government has gotten out of hand .  The American Community Survey is the most un-American appalling attack on the privacy and civil liberties of our citizens that has ever occurred.  The US Census Bureau has unlimited resources.... all paid for by your tax dollars.... to harass you by phone, and in person at your door, and by questioning your neighbors to gather information that our forefathers who founded this country would never have allowed.  And your government has given itself the right to fine you and ruin your life if you do not obey their demands for your most basic, private, personal information that WILL eventually be used against you.   This is the type of thing that eventually leads to revolution.  We are no longer represented or supported or protected by our supposed "representatives" in Washington who have determined that they are now our ruling class and who have decided that we all should be cataloged and subjected to their demands and affronts on our personal freedom.  When the revolution comes I know what side I will be on. Do not give up your guns.....when they eventually come to demand them, hide them.... your freedom and the future of your family depends upon it.   God bless America, and God Damn our current un-American government.  The time is coming to rise up and take back our country. Be ready, be willing, and be able to defend yourself and your family!  You WILL have to make a decision in your lifetime.  Will you be a patriot, or will you be a good Nazi and go along with the demands of your oppressors in hopes they will leave you alone and focus on the Jew, the Black, the Muslim, or whatever group they decide to target first?

I don't care if it is legit. It's still harassment. Why would they need to call me for information that was already given to them via the census survey?  I did my job and filled out that long, invasive survey and now they need to get off their butts and read it!  It seems you're only required by law to fill out the survey not to respond to incessant phone calls and follow-up visits.  I say they should call and harass the people who take advantage of welfare.  They're using government and taxpayer money so why not make them work some for it?

On tangent here, but I saw a lady at Walmart using a WIC check one time and holding up the whole line when she clearly looked like she did not need WIC.  She was in designer clothes, had a Coach bag, bought a bunch of name brand foods, and bought her son a bunch of toys, too!.  If she was really needy, she'd put that money to better use buying food and not making taxpayers pay for it!  I remember being poor and not having any toys as a child.  The people on welfare these days are spoiled!  And there I was in the same line, an average working citizen buying generic foods and using coupons.

I've also seen those welfare credit cards being used at restaurants, the movie theaters and amusement parks. Really?!?! I can't even afford to go to many of those places and I'm not on welfare.

Got a call on my cell phone tonight from this number, claiming to be the Census Bureau.  His first question was about my household income.  When I asked himto send me any questions he hasin writing the man said that I probably wouldn't give him my address.  I told him that if he was really from the census bureau he should have my address.  When he didn't respond I hung up.

I don't know who makes these calls, but it is unlikely to be the census bureau.  I contacted the state attorney general after the call, just like I told the girl on the other end that I would.

From the onset of the call I told the girl that I didn't believe that she was with the census bureau. I said that the census bureau sent someone to my house with a clipboard to ask me questions during the census and that they could do that again. At that point in the conversation she mentioned a few questions that she would ask me after I confirmed my address.  I didn't confirm my address and the conversation ended.

I think it's some phishing scam.  They'll get caught.  Take note of days and times that they try to call and notify your attorney general.

Just received a call this morning ... Woman said she was calling from thee US Census Bureau and first repeated my number and asked if it was correct.  I replied that she has just dialed it, so yes.  She then asked if I was "the lady of the house" to which I stated that I don't provide personal information over the phone so if this is a survey, I'm not participating.  She said she had to verify information -- repeated her questions...I repeated my response.  This went around a total of three times and I finally stated more firmly that I DO NOT ANSWER PERSONAL QUESTIONS OVER THE PHONE.

Get this:  she then attempts to threaten me with "OK, there are penalties for not responding, so do you want me to put you down as refusing to comply or....". I hung up while she was finishing that ridiculous statement.

Caller ID only states Tuscon, AZ.   If this legitimately is the US Census Bureau then I suggest the head of this organization pick up a news paper, watch a news report, ask a friend... Do something to get caught up to speed on the prevalence of IDENTITY THEFT scams .   I mean really, who sat around at the "bureau" and decided that cold calling Americans for personal information from a random telephone number was "good idea". ??   I believe this is a scam... Really hope my tax dollars are not paying for this level of incompetence.

Legit call, it's the Census Bureau. They asked me to confirm some questions I've sent a couple of weeks ago through one of their mail survey. The questions were similar to the survey, it's a standard survey quality process.

They are at it again - have received 3 differnet calls, first a male asking me if I had received a mailing from the census bureau ` no - haven't seen a thing - he then read off an address and it was not mine - this is on my cell phone that he called me on as well.  I then hung up. Next call I said I still haven't seen anything in the mail and I am not answering anything over the phone. Today it was the lady in Arizona - I had a message in my voice mail and I called to let them know they are calling the wrong person - she asked for my name - ? They are calling me and don't know my name??? I again said I have not received anything in writing verifying who they are and I am not giving any info - even my address over my phone - I told her she is using my minutes and to stop calling me - she said this is a cell phone? And I said yes and hung up on her. Our tax dollars at work or scam - I don't really know and am leery - had 2 calls last week - one there are burglarys in my area - next one the FBI is reporting burglaries in my area.... Not playing.
