- SandiI've seen some postings that say this is mask for a number that is being hidden by the caller using *67. This may or may not be true. I've gotten calls from this and another number with a 914 area code doing the same things as this number. In some cases it is an auto dialer that can not take incoming calls so you can't call them back and demand that they stop calling. Here's what I did. First - if the calls are coming to your cell phone, use the 'call reject' function on your phone to block the call. It will go to voicemail automatically. Because it never rings and goes straight to voice mail it seems to eventually stymie the auto dialer and the calls stop. If it is on your home phone, pickup and hang up rapidly. Don't attempt to speak. If it's a cordless phone, press 'talk' then 'end' quickly. Again it seems to stymie the auto dialers and they stop. If it's a person, they quickly realize their getting nowhere and move on to a new number. Just as with the old prank calls of the past, do NOT let your voice betray any emotion. If they speak to you but refuse to provide information about who they are or who they represent, do NOT let them hear annoyance or frustration in your voice. If they say they'll only give you information "if..." just say something like 'oh, I see' and hang up. Don't argue. It's likely a scam of some sort to extract personal information about you or someone you may know. NEVER give them information or even confirm informaiton. Remember, legitimate business calls from companies you deal with will always identify themselves, the business matter and their company followed by a little speach regarding the reason for their call such as "the purpose of this call is to collect a debt...".

- rl65t0I had a call from this 555-555-5555. They called at 2:45 a.m., which no telemarketer (even in their right mind) would do this. They tried to say we are locked out of a mastercard account. We don't use mastercard. Very annoyed this fraud call took place soo early in the morning. Not right on many accounts, plus if they even knew anything, theyd know we don't cary a mastercard.
- Call type: Telemarketer

- GenaJust got a call from this number about a half hour ago. The man had a Middle Eastern accent, was very upset and accusing my daughter of coming into his yard and kicking his dog. He said what his name was a couple times, but the English was broken. I tried to interrupt to tell him he got the wrong number, but he didn't stop yelling at me about my daughter kicking his dog. Finally, I just yelled "I don't have a daughter" into the phone and hung up. Tried calling back, but was unable to. Reported it to my phone carrier, to make sure I wasn't being scammed or something. Oh yeah, I don't have any daughters, only boys.
