This group is NOT a law firm. DO NOT let them trick you into thinking they are just because of their name. They are a bunch of rude low down rotten bill collectors. I finally agreed to make settlement with them on an account in the form of 2 payments over the course of 2 months. Well I gave them my bank account info. because that was the only way they agreed to the settlement. Well at the end of the 2 months they claimed that I still had a balance. UM, NO! They claim the call is being recorded so they should have a copy of the call to where piece of crap Victor Perez said we would settle after 2 payments. I now am closing my bank account and they will never get another penny from me. I kept my promise to have the money in my account for their 2 payments and they cant keep their promise for a settlement amount. If they were actually lawyers they would have ethical values and keep their word that was "recorded".
SO BEWARE when taking settlement offers.

I have to inform you that though they may not be able to "garnish" your wages, they can in fact get access to your bank account and get monies out in that way, as long as they have a judgement against you for the debt.

I received a call from Michelle of the law office of Joe Pezzuto.  Since I didn't recognize the number, I didn't answer the call.  She wants me to call her back at 1-866-826-4101 ext.266 (different from the caller id).  From what I've been seeing on this website, it appears that they are some kind of debt collection agency for Bank of America.  Funny thing is that I don't have a credit card from Bank of America...I did YEARS ago, but that was paid off in full and the account was closed.  Also, I have no other outstanding debt...I have an excellent credit score!  So, I'm not sure why there are calling and I don't think I want to call them back or take their calls...

Dave called and asked for me personally.  Said he was with this same law firm and he was looking for contact information on Jackie for "a legal matter".  Jackie is my husband's EX-wife.  I told ol' Dave I didn't know Jackie, I had no knowledge of where she is and didn't care to know and not to call me again.  That's all I need - calls looking for my husband's ex.

this number calls me several times a day and leaves tons of messages. sometimes they call from a different 866 or 888 number, but its the same message and same people harassing me about my boyfriends debt. i made the mistake of answering one time and they wont leave me alone. when i did talk to them they had the balls to demand that i take responsibility for my boyfriends debt and pay it off myself if i dont want any more calls. his mother has also been getting harassing calls on her home phone saying the same thing. hes 30 years old, he doesnt live at home, neither his mother nor i are responsible, but they seem to think otherwise. i recommend never answering, and if the calls dont stop, join me in filing a bar charge. they need to learn that this behavior is not okay.

These people Called then they hang up, they don't have things together. Theire manager their is not the most organised. He needs alot of help i don't think the owner even knows how this man operates her show . Do your homework.  They can sue for unpaid bills.  Pay your bills or get garnished.  Police will not arrest you, but a judgement will ensure you are garnished.

At least the Court will listen to both sides.

Please see the above link for FCDPA Guidelines.  All collectors should treat consumers with respect regardless of the amount of debt owed.

I don't think you have any business correcting ANYONE on their management skills. Get a grip. Get a job, and pay your bills people. So what if they can't garnish your wages?! Does that make it okay NOT to pay YOUR debt?? If they were collecting anything other than what was owed, please believe it would have been handled by now. They've been in business forever. You can justify not paying what you owe for weeks, days, or months... what good does that do anyone? Seriously. If all you can pay is $10 or $50 a month, then you're taking responsibility for YOUR actions, and doing the next right thing. Of course they're snappy, of course they're rude. They call RUDE and SNAPPY people, that OWE MONEY all day every day, so that they too, can pay their bills. At least they have initiative and CARE about their jobs and families enough to WORK to take care of their responsibilities. NO I don't work for this company, but I am in telemarketing, in another division. I like to think of myself as a good person though, and this just sounds like a bunch of irresponsible people looking for excuses not to pay what they owe... stupid.

Not true. I have owed for debts since 1998 that have never been actually an attempted legal pursuit. I could care less about one day mortgaging a house I cant afford because my "credit" depends on that. I know that legally there has never been any right on their part and these completely stupid people are somehow being allowed to do this, and very unprofessionally and abusively if the debtor actually allows them to try to converse with them for any length of time. Incompetent and mentally unstable speech and behaviour doesn't really do much for me, personally, as those basic skills are a requirement of my 9 dollar an hour job and I don't find that such a big thing for an adult anyway, so how does anybody even let such an incompetent and illegal outfit to exist for so long? I'd have a complaint and get chewed out over the most ridiculous alleged mistake I made while serving some self-absorbed and egocentric ass, and I still have to deal with that basic fact of life without acting like that is a little more than I need to expect to put up with for such a modest income. How does anybody choose to exert their power game on a service employee yet not demand that these liars and cowards even a little bit of that basic courtesy and even coddling if they want to get paid? This country needs to start setting boundaries and proving that they are even trying to do what we pay taxes and vote for. It's just too plain for us to keep pretending that we are responsible for keeping our rights if we expect to have them at all.

My mother always gives me the same self-righteous guilt trip on occasion, and she's such a liar and a verbally abusive wife and mother that I almost laugh just because it is so not anything any person should ever find important to prove if they actually see the vanity and pride that control such a need and always. Obviously, you would rather just be a lying and uncooperative person and not be called on that because you think you are smart enough to get away with that. I couldn't care less, yet not giving the required concern and effort here because looking in the other direction will harm you in some way if you should ever get caught up in a legal battle for any reason, because this shows just how little we are being served by them in such an easily corrected situation. hello i am an ex employee of this place, it is a law office but to let all of you know they can and will not sue you unless you live in AZ so don't sweat it if they call you.... this place is a serious joke, the dude who runs the office Matt Gascon is having a serious mid life crisis as he dresses as he is in his mid to low 20's it's a walking joke because this pathetic loser is in his 50's  he wears chuck Taylor high tops to work every day and he has this beat up old ass Run DMC shirt that i am not kidding he wears this shirt 3 out of 5 days during the week, whenever i looked at him all i wanted to do was punch him in the face but of course i restrained myself from doing so, but i assure you if i ever see him walking down the street away from this office where i cannot affiliate myself to him i am going to give him the beat-down of a lifetime, the entire management staff here is pathetic as well, they play babysitter all day to the low end classless employees they have, managers there are so proud of their 17/hr jobs because they believe they have made in in life but they clearly are just a bunch of losers as well, well there is one manager that was really good at what she did her name was Melissa.... but in this office all that is going on is people either snorting cocaine, smoking heroin, or selling painkillers right in front of the whole office it's hilarious, the one manager i cant resist laughing at the most is Victor Perez as this dude has to have his wife pick him up from work every day because he had his 6th DUI or whatnot, well it is actually his ex wife, funny story behind this is the reason she is his Ex wife is because this piece of work used to hang out w/all the employees trying to get a piece of [***] and a few times he apparently hung out w/the wrong employee as one night they were at the club and this ex employee whom i won't state his name because he is a friend of mine, sent his ex wife a picture of this LOSER kissing a fat chick in which apparently later that evening Victor decided to get a hotel room call his wife and tell her they had a flat so he was too tired to make it home (i need to let you know his wife just gave birth to his second child and they were together since high school) but regardless this dude Victor is a piece of work he thinks he has made it in life but only makes a whopping 17/hr i was making that when i was 20 lol he thinks he has the greatest job on the planet but really is just a loser..... the management instead of letting the employee know whats going on to their face decides to let all the management staff know as if it's a joke and than begin gossiping about it so you have hear about the problem through a 3rd party which some of the stuff they make jokes about is no ones business and private like one time an employee's wife had a miscarriage and they thought it was hilarious i am amazed they haven't been sued by an employee yet is truly astonishes me.... but on every call this place makes to you make sure you record every call because they are always breaking the law on literally every call, you can get out of your bill and possibly make a lot of money if you get the right attorney and have everything documented that takes place they do record every call but i assure you if it went to court these recordings would disappear.... if you have any questions feel free to ask me on here and i will let you know what you can do to get a paid letter and possibly make a lot of money from harassment and many other things they do completely wrong here.... but it's always fun to call and get the manager of the office, remember the mid life crisis guy i was talking about earlier on the phone his name is matt gascon and just talk trash to him as he gets so upset because he doesn't know how to speak to people i am astonished he is even in the position to run an office as he has 0 management skill and/or training this office is terrible, he has his employees roll him blunts of marijuana in which one of the employees, kuray medrano informed me of, but please call this dude and just ream him a new a hole as he will get so upset you will here his anxiety skyrocket thru the phone i have my friends call all the time just to get a laugh while it's on speaker phone!!!! it is great!!!

All you have to do is make them follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Once they contact you by phone they have 5 days to contact you by mail. You then have 30 days to respond and ask them to verify your debt. They must provide proof theat they own the debt and that you owe the debt. If asked they must provide copies of signed contracts, Identify the origional creditor, Proof the Statute of Limitations has not run out. Proof they are licensed to collect in your state, Providing you with the license number and registered agent. They must also provide you complete payment history of the debt beginning with the origional creditor. What the amount of the debt was when assigned to the collection agent, what fees and interest have been tacked on and how they calculated these fees.
If you ask them to validate the debt within 30 days of reciept of the letter(Keep the letter and postmarked envelope) Send your letter certified mail asking for return reciept. Then they have 30 days from date of recieving your letter to come up with all that stated above. And they can no longer contact you until they do validate it. This is the law they have to follow. If they cannot come up with this information you then write them another letter and send them a copy of your recipt of the first. Tell them that since there has been no proof that you consider this matter closed with them And tell them to take all your information and get rid of it. Again This is Law they must follow. Also inform them that if there are any marks agains your credit then you will let the Fair Trade commission know and that it is illegal if they cannot validate the debt. Another thing. If they say they are going to sue you, They must come to the city, county, state where the origional contract was signed. They are in Arizona, Where are you? You should all look up and learn what the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act is and does for you! You are the one in Control. Don't let them bully you and push you around. They are scum!!

It is true that your wages can be garnished for not paying a debt in some STATES .  Every state has different laws that overrule the FDCPA.  Some of the things they tell you are not a lie, they will come and get their money. Don’t get me wrong if it is for a small balance they would rather keep you in collections.  A lot of times when your account is a few years old the client or original creditor will not want to deal with you, that’s why your in collections.  The people that offer you settlements is the collectors and they can go as low was 30 percent. Most of the time people still have the same jobs get paid the same nothing change learn how to live within your means . Funny thing most to you guys agreed to a legal binding contracted stating that it will be paid. So get real, stop hating on people because they want a commission check to feed their family.  FOR Most of the people are unemployed maybe you should look for a career in collections and pay your bill so we don’t have to babysit you too.

Well Mr. "Pezzuto I think you or whoever you are has proven the point by sending out this reply. No upstanding lawyer or firm that I have ever worked with or known has EVER used the vulgar language or uncalled for RUDE comments! If you are a porfessional (obviously you are not) then you should be respectful and helpful not crass and vulgar! Yes some people just avoid paying their debts that is true however there are some who are actually down on their luck, have been laid off, getting or going through divorce, having medical issues or other things in their lives. Perhaps taking the time to be human beings and treating people with a grain of respect would result in better responses to you and your collection agency. I asked for proof of the debt from you people and got told "good luck"! Any legit law office would be happy to provide this basic information! Your a debt collector not an attorney. People can check with the AZ bar association to get that confirmed!
