My call came from Lynn.  When I informed her that I had dealt with Progressive in the past and that it was a scam - she got silent.  I then asked her to send me the invoice and I would handle as I have done in the past - she stated " well if you are not going to pay it - I am not going to send it we will just proceed with collections".  When I told her that was fine she hung up.  I have dealt with this same issue at least once a year for the past 10 years with my company.

call today from kathy.  this is the same thing that happened t my last company -- used the same alleged magazine -- sam spiel.  i called the CA attorney general then and i am going to call them again now.

Received several calls from 'Amanda Sprague' at ICR asking us to pay $518.40 for a newsletter from Progressive Business Publications that we never received.  The matter has been turned over to our legal department.  Never agree to accept any free trial from Progressive Business Publications.

Same experience as what many noted above. She provided my birthdate, which I told her was incorrect, as proof that I had approved the $299 expense for their Internet & Marketing newsletter. I would never spend that kind of money on such tripe. Next time she calls, I am asking for the number of her attorney for my attorney to contact. That should shut her up. By the way, the person who called me said her name is Cathy Rema.

Just ignore all calls from any phone numbers beginning with (607) 748-....  They are SCAMMERS.  No even knows what they are talking about here -- we just are grateful for caller ID and don't answer these calls.  They are so "cheery" on the answering machine -- I'm sure they'll get over it!

I got the call from Laurie Appleton too. I've taken published newsletters before but not for years, when I told her that she became terse and it went downhill from there. I didn't think to ask what birthdate they had. Will do that next contact she makes with me. Will also tell her how I found all you wonderful people posting about the scam and what to do to make it go away and that I intend to hit her with every single one of them if she doesn't GO AWAY. I contacted the company she referred to and have yet to get a response from them.

ICR called our company and used the same tactics. Now we recieved an invoice for more garbage with our shop foreman's name on it. They only threaten and holler. No evidence of an order except that they know your birthday. Unbelievable they can't be stopped. I am trying the NY and PA Attorney general offices to file a complaint.

Received call from Laurie Appleton- very rude said she would only mail invoice if I sent check by overnight mail..luckly we do budget and track everything, no such amount or description matched.  The amount was for $299
I feel sorry for the people that get scammed and for the people calling, I will pray for your sins!

11-2-10 Got a call from "Lori/Laurie" with International Credit (phone 607 748 4686) saying that Progressive Business Publications had turned my company over to them for collection of $94 for non payment of Supervisors Safety Bulletin we supposedly subscribed to in March of this year.  She quoted our mailing address & my birthdate as proof of our subscription.  We did receive a trial subscription to this publication in December, 2005, but I can find no record of receiving anything since, nor any invoice.  Lori said she would fax me a copy of the invoice - this was 3 hours ago. Nothing yet.

We do subscribe to and receive a bulletin from Progressive Business Publications, but not the one mentioned above.

Do Progressive Business Publications know about this scam?

same story as everyone else, but do these people have any power to mess with your personal credit?

Same story here.  Call from Cathy stating a balance due for 7 newsletters from Selling Advantage starting in April 2010.  She said we agreed to a 30 day trial and did not cancel.   Threatened my credit and gave a DOB for verification but was wrong date.  Called my cell number which lead me to this site when I did the reverse call look up.  Got a toner scam call today as well.  Must be some desparate folks out there.

I agree with Connie, just want's to hear what she want's then she just hang's up on you.  I called back asking for her supervisor beacause I hate when they hang up on me, she kept insisting she was the supervisor.  I asked her what was the name of the company and she got an attitude so I went ahead and act like if she did not understand me and finaly gave me IRC.  We've had several issues with them in the past Progressive Business Publications. If you get a call from them just hang up on them they are just trouble.  Even though I hate to be hung up on they deserve it.

I also got a call from a Lindsey Bezek. She tried getting me to pay her $94.56 for a magazine called "The selling advantage from Progressive Business Publications". She said she worked for a company called International Credit Recovery Inc. This is a total scam. I never ordered anything, and I do not even do the ordering for my company. They are getting a little more creative however; Lindsey actually created an invoice, obviously a word document that she created on the fly and then faxed it to me. What a joke. How do you get these people arrested for this crap? It looks like there have been multiple complaints with the BBB and still these jokers are allowed to do this. What can we do?

I reported them to FBI,I even gave the FBI agent extensive documentation;this was 1.5 years ago;so far nothing was done to them.

Ok all, want to have some fun.  I found a number that gets in to this group of crooks,  607-748-4686 . call from a blocked number and just harass them back.  It is SOOOO much fun and you would be amazed how mad they get!!!!  I called Amanda a few times today and needless to say she will no be bugging me again.... have some fun with them .... best of luck

Had a voicemail recording this morning (1/7/2011) from Katie Dotman of International Credit.  She said that my name and place of employment were associated with an "account reported for collection" and that she "wanted to give me a heads up before proceeding".  Of course, instead of calling her back I did a web search and instantly found this site, confirming my suspicions.  I have no intent to call, but did warn key people in my company.

I didn't see the phone number because we dont' have caller ID, but Cathy called me, too.
I remember the original call fromk Progressive and I told them then I wasn't authorized to order publications for my company.  When they kept going on about the wonderful newsletter I tried to get them off thephone by sayign sure when they offered the free issue.
Cathy had my DOB wrong, and when I told her that, she said she send it back as a dispute.
I was kind've hoping it'd be done, but from what I'm readin here, I guess I have a while to go before they give up.
