Report a phone call from 636-261-2484 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- BillThis number 636-261-2484 is from Citibank in Mo. It is an automated dialer. If you call it back you will get a recording to tell you to call there 888 or 800 number. This number is used to automate collection calls. It is not a scam.
- randomI just received a call from them. I applied for a new credit card with Citi this weekend and the guy said he was trying to approve my application, but only for $500. He said he could increase it by any other amount if I decreased the limit on my other existing Citi card. Seems a little weird, but I never come close to that amount anyways. Figured why not. I just checked my online account, the credit line for my existing account has already been decreased. So, it seems legit to me. *Shrugs*
- Department of Revenue (midwestern state)These people have called my work number six times since last Thursday. The recording tells me to call 866-388-1224. I called them back and they told me who they were looking for (no one I know). They promised to take my number of their system. I continue to get calls. Today I called back and when I provided the woman with my phone number, she said my number wasn't in their system, so she doesn't know why I got the call. I don't either. I wish they would stop calling. This is unsettling.
- Caller: Red Line Debt Collection Agency
- Tampa Nursing HomeWe are a nursing home and this number continues to call the nurses. The phone is only used for nursing care only.
- B-ManBeen getting calls twice a day, they leave no message.
- JeffI had a Citimortgage mortgage but sold the property in November of 2008. (Short sale) Someone from "Citimortgage" called my previous employer yesterday saying they had to verify information on my "loan application". But the loan is done.
What do you think is going on? - Michael MorrisFrom this number I received a highly-suspicious call on the mid-morning of May 21 2009. The caller, with a distinctly Indian or Pakistani accent, claimed to be from Citibank. I immediately called the section of Citibank with which I recetly started dealing to report this, but received from the Citibank customer service representative an entirely inapproriate, in-my-view-unprofessional response. I then tried to contact any Citibank offficia tasked with security or fraud prevention, but got absolutely nowhere. I am APPALLED at the lack of any swift (or even possible) way to contact an appropriate Citibank security-specialist. This is shocking and of course very worrying. Not to mention a substantial waste of time and telephone costs.
- Michael MorrisAnother entry here from me. This is noon on May 21 2009. I again called my Citibank lender to advise that I, too, had tried to contact this suspicious number and had heard the clearly-deceptive message about mortgage department. And by the way, I have no mortgage with Citibank and never have had. The Citibank official to whose attention I then drew all this, was unaware of any of it! Not her fault, she is not a fraud-prevention official. But, really, how can Citibank the corporate structure be unaware of ths often-repeated reportage about a fraud attempt using the name Citibank or, at least, concern among so many people? How is it possible that Citibank itself has not entered THIS website, on which we all now are posting our concerns, to clarify the matter? This whole matter reflects more than poorly on Citibank. And where did the fraud himself (this morning's caller) obtain so much information about my Citibank acount? I have lodged a complaint about this aspect also.

- PauI got a call from this number a few minutes ago. When I asked the person's full name, he refused to give me and told me that his name is Brian. He said he didn't have extension number as well. I refused to provide for him my social security number after he didn't want to release his full name or extension number.
- Caller: Claimed to be from CitiMortgage
- PaxI received a call from them the other day.
The person on the other line spoke clearly enough. There was a large party going on in the background - loud TV, loud music, people squealing, laughing, and shouting.
The fellow on the other end never stated who he was or where he was calling from. He stated that he needed to verify my property address and wanted me to give it to him. I hung up because it seemed like a sloppy phishing scam. - heidiI received several calls from this number on my cell phone..I missed it the first time, no message was left, the second time I did catch the call but when I answered it, it went dead after a few seconds...I called the number back (636-261-2484) and the recording said they were Citimtg. and to call another number. It sounded fishy to me so I never called back. I received a call today on my work number and spoke to a gentleman that identified himself as being from Citimtg. and asked me to verify my property address. I became suspicious since I just spoke to my mtg. company (who is Citimtg.) just the night before and was told not to expect another call until next week at the earliest...but yet here was this guy calling me less than a day later. Before I gave him any information I asked him if he was an actual employee of Citimtg., he did not say he was or wasn't, but said I have a right to be suspicious and advised me to call my mtg. company later that evening and then hung up. It seems very strange to me, could be a scam or it could be that the left hand isn't communicating with the right hand. If your mtg. company is calling you, they should never have to ask you information, you should only have to verify your information if you call them!
- Caller: Citi Mortgage
- KristinBEWARE!!!! I thought it was a scam when they asked for my bank information, well my checking number. I called the real Citi and told them I thought it was a scam. They said it was and that they never call and ask for your bank information. They wanted to connect me to the thefts department, but since I didn't give out my info,I thought there was no need to. They just called right now, so I am going to contact the thefts department, so no one else gets scamed. You should do the same.~peace~
- RuthThey have been calling me on my cell phone for a week and never leave a message. I called the 1-800 CitiMorgage number they give when you call them back and no one seems to be particularly helpful. When I finally got through to customer service (a feat in and of itself!) they told me that since I have student loans with them that I should check there first. They are not even concerned that their company is sending out calls of this sort. The moral of the story is NEVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH CITIBANK!!!! They are immoral and unethical.
- Caller: CitiMorgage
- Sigfried Von Mmost likely a phishing expedition.
- meI receive a couple of calls a day from that number. Just dead air sometimes and sometimes it tells me to call 1-800-2837918
- Laura D ValdezMany missed calls from this number It has been a week now that this number is calling.
Haven't answered it. - HarassedI am getting calls from them every day I believe it is Citimortgage. Our mortgage is due on the 1st of each month but gave us a 10 day grace period so we set up when we got the loan to do electronic transfers from our account and is set up each month on the 7th or 8th. I have had Mortgage loans with them for over 4 years, have been set up on ACH for 4 years and have never missed a beat. Calls started about 2 months ago and they call evry day from around the 2nd of the month until the payment goes out. I spoke with someone last month and she said that they would go in and code the account and the calls would stop but I got calls again this month on Sunday, Monday, and again this morning.
- DisgustedI should have had a bad feeling about Citibank, the first time they called me on my cell (3rd of the month, 3 weeks after closing). After that call they didn't bother me very often, until 2009.
Since then it has started between the 4 and 5 of every month. The Pakistan/India callers can barely speak English. They always want me to verify my address and phone number. The phone number they read off is my old one. I always tell them to send me a form and I will update it by mail. I tried to update it on the website but it would never let me in the system.
I would refuse to talk to them because the couldn't prove they were from Citibank. Every month, they started day after day and I finally told them i would no longer talk to them. They started leaving messages on my cell and finally I called the 1-800.
When I called, I got them to take my cell off the account. I updated the home phone. I also found out why I couldn't get into the website----THEY had my SS# wrong.
Starting the 6th this month, they called the home phone. Again on the 7th and 3 times on the eighth. Thank goodness for the caller ID.
If you want them to leave you alone, go online and change your contact number to 636-261-2484. That what I am going to do!!!- Caller: Citi
