- Joe| 1 replyThis guy named James keeps calling me about my credit card. Its true that I do owe $2,000 but I've told the guy that I would like to start a payment plan and he refuses. Does he not realize that the economy is in a recession and that if I actually had $2000 lying around I would pay it in full! If anyone can help me convince this guy to agree to payment plans I would be happy to start paying on it.

- JHcall came at 847 pm. Said Client Services, 636-947-2321.Asked if it was me then asked to hold on a few minutes then was hung up on. 1st call from them. Filed a bankruptcy a month ago, so seems pretty late for any debt to be sold to them. Don't know if it's same orig. creditor that sold to another agency after bankruptcy notification or not.

- SpicerDYes,they are a collection agency and they have repeately called my cell phone and my work phone. If I see their number come up, I just don't answer it. They are very rude and they present themselves in way to try to intimidate you. I'm not going for it. They can call someone else.

- seriously?| 1 replyThey called me today, but not looking for me. The man wanted me to deliver a message to MY NEIGHBOR. He knew where I lived and that it was only a few doors down from who he was/is looking for. I assume he got my info from some public listing. He told me he needs to contact these people regarding an urgent matter but the number he has is not a working number. Now that puts me in a very awkward situation. I don't want to make bad with my neighbors.

- Think about it| 2 repliesClient Services is hired by the company to collect a debt before the company takes further action such as garnishments. They DO NOT buy debts. I have had collectors call me and yes, some of them are idiots or are very rude, but you shouldn't discriminate against everyone who works for the company. I know a person who works in bill collection and doesn't act that way. It isn't the most rewarding job, but sometimes you have to work where you have to work to feed your kids! Its almost as bad as racism when you refer to every person who works for collections. You know how to get it to stop? PAY YOUR BILL!!! If you pay for the things you buy or owe in the first place, you wouldn't have to listen to "these people."
- Be informedClient Services hires normal people just like you and me. They work for a paycheck to take care of their families. They are real people! Client Services is a great company to work for. Also, if you answer and you don't hear someone right away its because they are using the dialer, which is an automated system, and the representative will be on the line in just a few seconds.
- DeniseWow...to call another state, to someone that is not the debtor, and to use such snarky tactics should be illegal!
Oh wait, that is what they just did to my daughter! I should not be aware of any problems my grown daughter is having financially unless she tells me! Seems calling my brother-in-law is an option too!
He's partially deaf, and I am sure they had a great time trying to pry info out of that rock!- Caller: Client Services
- BusmechanicThey called me today at home and asked if my wife was still seeking employment, It turns out that she has a lot of resumes out and I gave this agency her work number. Big mistake. When my wife called me and told me that they were a collection agency I was upset that they lied to me and I called backed. Got no where with who ever answeres the phone. My wife told them to remove her name and they refused. I guess if they call anymore I will log the calls and contact an attorney

- sara| 1 replyThe guy called after being rude and demanding he says, "who do you think you are, get out of here". I talked to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and they told me to contact to the BBB in the state that they are in. Are they from Florida, does anyone knows?

- rambonea bunch of knuckle heads.. they call everyday. tell them to kiss your a$#
- CalleeFirst of all if you owe the money and want to pay, then call the person you owe the money to, don't deal with the collection agency. If you owe the money and don't want to pay, be prepared for the calls, you can tell them that you are formally requesting they refrain from any further contact and you must follow that up with a certified letter to the collection agency that will end that but your credit will be affected, but usually your credit is already affected by the time it reaches the collection agency. If you owe a debt and it's gone past the statutes of limitations you must write the collection agency stating that you dispute the validity of their claim. When they send you the original invoice that you owe check the date and check the statute of limitations in your state, if the date of the invoice goes beyond the stat. of limitation in your state inform the collection agency and that this debt exceeds the statutes of limitations and to stop contacting you.

- JLouHere is some helpful information if you have creditors or debt collection agencies harassing you. Legally, they can call (unless you are filing bankruptcy or issued a "cease and desist" statement--see below) but they must stay within these guidelines:
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act:
This law regulates collections agencies, and what they and your creditors can and cannot do when trying to collect a debt from you. Under this law, creditors and debt collectors must work with you in a professional and reasonable manner. This means that they cannot:
Harass you. Call before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m. Call you at work if you don't want them to. Use profane language, threats of imprisonment, seizure of property or violence.
Congress passed this law to prevent harassment and abuse, by making creditors and collection agencies accountable for their actions when attempting to collect debts. If you're being contacted by creditors and debt collectors and feel that they're dealing with you in an unprofessional and disrespectful way, tell them to stop by using this exact phrase: "Pursuant to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act..." and finishing the sentence by saying they cannot continue the behavior that you find uncomfortable and harassing. If it doesn't stop, you may report the creditor or debt collector to the Federal Trade Commission.
Regardless of the behavior of the creditor or debt collector, if you just want the letters and phone calls to stop, you can write a "cease and desist" letter.Your attorney can give you a sample copy.
Remember: While a "cease and desist" letter will stop a creditor or debt collector from contacting you in the future, it won't stop them from taking legal action against you for your unpaid debt.
******
NOTE: You don't need an attorney to write a cease and desist letter-just write your own with a short statement asking them to immediately cease and desist from contacting you, however you want to phrase that, but it MUST include the phrase "cease and desist." Good luck!
