This ridge top place is a scam.....

I agree - all the evidence points to it - so why has nobody closed it down????

These guys asked a friend of mine to do this kind of telephone consulting and she indicated me. They never called until today when they made the same proposition. I don't know if it is a scam, but I just work if they "Show me the money".

I got a call today from a lady Tiernan Ely at 646-465-9524 saying they are RidgeTop Consulting from NYC and have a client who would be interested in working with my former employer and get competitive advantage information etc.  I told her to email me the job description, instead I get their terms and conditions document.   She said she found my resume on jobhike.com or something, she said it really fast I had to ask her twice and even then she said it very fast that makes it hard to grasp the name of the jobboard site.

I just got an email from Ridgetop with job description. Now they asked me to review and accept their consulting agreement as well as enter my desired hourly rate for a 60 min call with their client.

Interesting that you recieved the job description.  I believe they are reading responses on this website.

In my opinion trust nothing to do with Ridgetop Research. Nothing about this company rings true and I am suspicious that anything positive said on this message board is posted by plants/stooges.

What kind of CEO from a reputable company actually comes onto a site like this to try and "resolve"  conflicts with their company?  I know... none.  Any idiot can type "Chip Emery" into the Your Name section of this forum.

Second... anyone here that actually comes to the conclusion "Oh, Person X says that Ridgetop Research paid them quickly, so it must be true" deserves to be taken for a ride.  Even if this so-called research outfit is legit.  Do your research people... that's what the BBB and otehr accredited agencies are for.

So I just got a call - one voice - saying "this is chip emery, jamie beard and bromley dougherty from RR..." and I am not sure what it means - 1 person, 3 people, 3-in-1, someone hearing a lot of  voices in their head, what?

More concerning is that you post anonymously and yet this guy/these guys can get a number upon which to call you????

I got an invite to their offices next time I am in Manhattan - like I got nothing better to do!

I've also received emails from Sean Rafter telling me that he is working at Ridgetop Research and needs my advice regarding Chinese advertising industry for one of their clients.

Actually he sent me the 1st email a couple months ago, I ignored it because I was too busy...and now he emailed me again.....I'm just wondering...what kind of clients of theirs that is willing to wait for a couple of months to get China market information?  My experience is that it's always an urgency when an international or overseas company looks for China market information.....

Hi - I was contacted in a similar way, gone through the registration process and conducted my market call last night which lasted an hour. I submitted my billing / invoice details to Ridgetop this morning and am now awaiting payment which I am told will be with me next week. I'll let you all know how it goes (watch this space......)

Isn't interesting that all the positive comments are all first name capital letter last name.  Could it be we are being manipulated?

Hi everyone - further to my post above dated 10th March, I recieved my cheque in the mail this morning. I have to say that Tiernan at Ridgetop has been nothing but extreamley professional from start to fininsh returning calls, answering emails promptly and delivering payment when promised.

For all the negative postings above - just how many of you have actually engaged with Ridgetop to do business? Shame on anyone who posts an 'opinion' without actually experiencing for themsleves.

As for me, I have worked with Ridgetop, would totally reccommend them and would be more than happy to work with them again in the future. It's a true shame that such a credible company has to consistanly justify itself on a rumours site like this.

Finally, if anyone is reading this and thinks 'yeah right, anyone included in this scam could be writing that' consider this.... I live in Scotland, have never worked with Ridgetop before and prior to working with them I had never heard of them, what reason would I have to post this otherwise?

Anyway that's my rant over - well done Ridgetop - good luck for the future and keep up the good work!

So what is a a good and reasonable hourly rate that you should quote for yourself for your consulting?

Ridgetop is now interested in landscaping equipment.

Bebo - I would suggest around $325 per hour, which is my hourly rate when working with them.

I guess we'll take your word for it ;-)
