I have done two consulting calls for this company and did get paid. it seems as though after you do a couple of calls they stop contacting you as well as they have not responded back to any of my emails I have sent since my last call. Jennifer is the person who contacted me and now will not respond back to any emails.
It's obvious that they are just trying to get a copy of a person's resume.
I would now not recommend anyone responding back to them.

Just got a similar call from Peter Bowers. Did you resolve your issue? Any new information would be helpful.

    Hi Guys.
What do you think about Ridgetop Research Terms and Conditions? Are they "safe" for consultants?

Got a call from Zev today. Nice enough guy but the whole thing strikes me as odd. Done plenty of consultating gigs and never signed anything beforehand.

I just got a LinkedIn email from John Bell. When I replied via email he put me through to John Post. John Posts email address is actually Jeep Post. Is this company legit? After reading the comments I'm not sure if I should engage or not.

I've received numerous inquiries from this company and others like it (e.g. Gerson Lehrman Group, Coleman Research Group, etc.) over the years. Two prior posters have already identified exactly what these people are after.

Firstly, per Mike McAvay's post, they're after your detailed resume, in order to obtain more specific details than your LinkedIn profile provides, which helps them understand how individual contributors can help piece together a corporate puzzle.

Secondly, as NB perceptively noted, they are looking to obtain information on specific target companies from multiple sources, in order to build up an accurate picture for specific clients (e.g. for M&A). Some of those tapped to support these consulting projects blurt out far more than they should; however, even without these easy marks (especially employees unhappy with current or past employers), it's easy for a research firm to piece together a detailed picture by encouraging participants to part with seemingly innocuous insights.

Other posters have already highlighted the dangerous Ts&Cs involved (which most participants won't ever bother to read).

Personally I refuse to support these types of companies (and advise my family & friends likewise), but I suppose it depends on your personal ethics. (Not that Congress has set much of an example, by watering down the STOCK Act to such a degree that they are effectively free from prosecution over insider trading.)

Being a Network/IT security expert with many years of experience, I tent to follow Peter's  advise not to sign up their T&Cs. It looks like a market intelligent research firm collecting information from employees they are not supposed to give or one can get from stock/market reports. For investors it is very useful to know if a targeted company is working on the next big thing and it the company's talents will win over competition.
If you're self-employed you have an opportunity to make some money but if you're an employee, then it's more than making a decision based on your personal ethic, you should think about potential consequences of providing consultancy services to a potential illegal company.

Have you sent them an invoice. I have now consulted with 5 of their clients and have been paid for all 5. I have spoken for 1 hour each time and paid within 4 days of submitting the invoice. They never have asked me for a resume.

You submit the fee you would like to charge. I will tell you it is over $100.00 per hour. The calls I have done have ben individuals interested in investing or buying a franchise  and flipping it over in 5 years.
