I got some calls stating that they were IRA agents (THAT scam) and 2 other times they were calling about my microsoft computer...another scam

These guys called me earlier this Summer saying they are IRS collecting over due payments or sending police to your home, must pay over the phone.  Now they are calling me to say that they are Microsoft and have noticed an unusual amount of viruses on my computer.  How dumb do they think we are?  Same voice as with both calls.

Called by this number 646-568-1992, and the message stated that a law suit was in the process of being filed.  Also, this was the last attempt to reach me by phone.  They gave me a call back number 310-933-0184.  They did not state who was calling me, but did call themselves Rainbow Services.

Man with foreign accent said he was from the IRS. Hung up knowing it was a scam.

Received a call today, didn't answer. Listened to the voicemail and it was a recording from "Microsoft Support" telling me that I had Trojans on my computer and my personal information may be compromised. I guess they want me to call back so they can misuse my personal information. Needless to say but it's a scam, blocked the number.

Received a second call from this number and the recording states this is an officer from the IRS and there has been a lawsuit filed against you.  Since when does the IRS take time out of their business day to make such a call?  I am going to contact my telephone carry and report such nonsense.

If you have an iPhone, go to your recent calls and tap the little letter "i" to show the information about the phone number. Scroll down to the bottom and click "block caller".  It will ask you to confirm it and click to confirm it. They can never call back again from that number.

Called and transferred to voicemail,  10:21 MST (this could be off an hour or a few minutes, my voicemail sometimes does that.)

As exact as I can render it, very static-y altered or mechanical voice -- perhaps just recorded and chopped up over and over.

"This is Officer from the Internal Revenue Services.  We have been trying to reach you.  This call is  assist in finding ((gargled mangled or chopped) ... .. call is from the.Internal Revenue Services...
... the reason for this call is to inform you that we have filed a lawsuit against you.  For more information, call immediately our department number 646 741-2194.  I repeat 646 741-2194."

This is evidently a very busy guy.  I hit dialback, and got the phone number 646-568-1992

He seems to be using the same numbers, over a long time.

Scam.  Hang up, block number.

IRS SCAM.  Called my mother's phone and left a message on her voicemail.

"This call is an official final notice call from the 'Internal Revenue Services'. The reason for the call is to inform you that we filed a lawsuit against you. For more information call immediately our department number 646-776-5879. I repeat 646-776-5879."

This call is from the "Internal Revenue Service(s)".  Notice the robocall specifically says "Services" (plural NOT singular). This is probably why these people are still in "business". Legally speaking they may not be impersonating a government agency/gov agent (Internal Revenue Service vs. Internal Revenue Services). Unethical? Yes. Illegal? Probably not.

BTW the number 646-776-5879 appears to trace back to the same IRS SCAM as well.

Either way these people are lowlife SCUM stealing from the unwary.

If you have an android phone, create a contact with that number which appeared on screen saving it to your phone. Then click on block and check off block. Hope this helps.

My mom keeps getting this call. They say it's the IRS.  The callback number they give 6466637244 does work. It's a scam
