i just got the call from this number. so i google search and found this forum. this freaking number called me 16 times. the 17th call is ring no my phone now as i typing this post here.

this number called me in the middle of the night and left a voice mail...when i woke up and checked it, it was some guy talkin dirty sayin when he got out of jail he was going to well you understand

Yes, it is from a pay phone. I rarely answer call from a strange number, but i got a voice mail. it was from my friend. so next time you see this number, answer it. it might be your friend. If it is advertising, you can just hang up. no harm done.

My friend called me from this number, I guess from a payphone.  I didn't believe him at the time, so I blocked my number (*67) and called it back a few times.  First 2 were busy, then it worked and connected to a voicemail twice- It was some chick that said "Hi you've reached... 7024444939, leave a message... blah blah, and if you are calling about my studio you can call directly and someone will help you and gave another number I think, like 971- _ _ _ _ or simular. no areacode...
So WTF is going on here? Sounds like spam but who was the chick I heard?  The top evil villian of payphone scams?  OH man everyone look out!!

This is a piad phone company use by walmart. I use it in Oklahoma and show as las Vegas nevada

My ex just got out of jail, he's been using the Calling Card he got there and it shows as this number.

YAAAA bro,i  got a call at about 3:00 last night
then i tried to call back and it said the number was outta service, i was freaked the helllllll out cause an out of service number callin me hahaha..but yaa i guess its just a payphone

i think its strange the area code is (702), because it is a Nevada area code which freaked me out because i thought my bf was getting lost.  But he's heading here to NorCal, so the number from this payphone I believe is somewhere near Delano, CA.

This call came in and when I answered it, I could hear somebody talking and then it disconnected.  When I tried to call back, several times, my call just ended.  I could not get a connection.

I just got a call and they said that they were at a pay phone at the Oglvie train station in Chicago

i gotta a call from this number , i answered and it was an automated voice telling me i had won a package to either Miami, Orlando or las Vegas Nevada. and to redeem it i had to go to one of their company presentation and that it was all free and all i would have to pay was the fees for the two nights stay. they even gave me their address of their new travel agency which is :901 31rst st NW, Washington dc , in the Georgetown area in the Washington harbor building just before the loading dock area. yes all those details were given to me. then it hung up right after. tried calling back but said this number could not be reached.

Got the same call from America West airlines, offering 3 days, 2 nights lodging with airfare to Orlando, Miami or Las Vegas. I did not answer the phone and they left a very detailed message, giving 24 hours to respond.  They said a loved one had filled out some sort of information card.  I doubt this since the cell phone number called is not our primary phone and would not have been given out. Although I appreciate the offer, I will pass.  Since I did not recognize the number, I did a search and have seen from several websites that this is a phone number for hire.  It is used by several pay phone companies in multiple states and also by Walmart calling cards.  So any attempt to call the person back fails.  I am choosing not to answer or pursue this further.  Good luck to anyone else that gets these calls.

I received a call on my cell phone and they said someone gave it to them after a trip to their location.  I deleted the message but wrote the number down.

Received a phone call to my cell and I didn't pick it up. I seaching in google and found out all these comments. Would somebody or the police do something  to all these people?

Even though Area Code 702 is the Las Vegas, Nevada area, and the rest of Nevada is area code 775, lookup locater puts the number as around North McCarron, near or on the campus of the University of Nevada-Reno, in Reno.  Maybe that's simply the standard location for the phone company serving all of Nevada, I don't know.

The calls from that number seem to come in waves, I don't answer, but just record the number.

Got a call from 702 444 4939 on Jan 10th 2011. No message left. called back and is a non working phone line according to AT&T.

Received recorded message saying I had "won" two round-trip tickets and accomodations to Las Vegas ... but had to pick up tickets at "opening of Ameris West's 'world class' travel office in Washington DC..."

Just received a call from 7024444939 with somewhat poorly recorded voice telling me about vacation package I won. "A loved one entered you in a something something, you will get free airfare, free hotel stay"... could sound pretty tempting to some, I just hang up when I hear crap like that

Was for some kind of free trip. Thought there was string attached and hung up.

got a voicemail saying i won 2 complimentary trips to anywhere in us.. hate these stupid calls
