    yes IT IS A COLLECTION AGENCY THIS WOMEN COMES OFF AT FIRST REALLY NICE AND YOU DONT EVEN KNOW ITS A COLLECTION CALL UNTIL YOU ASK WHAT ITS FOR AND THEN THEN SHE WANTS YOU TO MAKE PAYMENT. ATT IS SOMETHING YOU TRY TO CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT WITH THEM BUT YOU HAVE OUTSTANDING BILL WITH THEM FOR 70.00 TRY TO CANCEL SO IT DOESNT EVEN GO ANY HIGHER AND BY THE WAY , THESE WERE FOR CHARGES AFTER DISCONNECTING. OK SO YOU CANT CANCEL WITH ATT UNTIL OUTSTANDING BILL IS PAID SO THEN THEY KEEP ADDING MORE MONIES WHICH IS NOW 132.00 EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO SERVICE WITH THEM. HEY ONE THING I LEARNED DONT RESPOND TO IDIOTIC PEOPLE LIKE THIS WOMEN AND NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER PAY THEM WITH YOUR CHECKING ACCT. THEY ARE VULTURES , BECAUSE EVEN IF YOU DONT AUTHORIZE THEM BUT ONE TIME TO TAKE PAYMENT THEY CAN TRY AND DO AN ACH WITHDRAWAL AGAIN, BECAUSE THEY ARE SLIM AND IF THE FUNDS ARE NOT IN THAT ACCT. THEN THEY COME BACK AND SAY OH NOW YOU WROTE US A BAD CHECK THEN THEY TRY THEIR SCARE TACTICS ON YOU ABOUT ITS A FELONY ( THEY ARE LIARS AND SCUMS ) SO THE BEST THING TO DO IS TAKE CARE OF IT IN YOUR TIME VIA MONEY ORDER , CERTIFIED SO THEY HAVE TO SIGN FOR IT AND KEEP DOCUMENTATION BUT DONT ANSWERE YOUR PHONE AND JUST HANG UP BECAUSE THEY GET A KICK OUT OF TRYING TO RAISE PEOPLES BLOOD PRESSURE , THESE VULTURES ARE REALLY SOMETHING CAN YOU IMAGINE HAVING THEIR JOB AND TRYING TO REST PEACEFULLY AT NIGHT OR TRYING TO GET UP AND GO TO CHURCH AND PRAISE THE LORD AFTER YOU HAVE DONE THIS ALL WEEK. OMYGOSH! NO THEY PROBABLY WOULD BE AFRAID THE DOORS WOULD SHUT BEHIND THEM. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED THEY WORK RIGHT ALONG WITH THE EVIL ONE ACCUSING EVERYONE!

    A woman called my phone and asked for my mother. I explained who I was and she asked me again who I was. Then she statede that the person, "he" gave my number as a secondary number. I explained to her once again that it was my mother. I asked where she was calling from what it was in regards to. She stated that she was calling from a company called "parkway... (something)" but she could not tell me what for. Before I could say anything else, she hung up on me. I tried calling back, but it stated something that the number was incorrect. I will find out the company name and also report them.

    A very rude woman (Felicia Sterling) called our house about an outstanding debt owed to AT&T.  She became very rude very quickly.  As I tried to explain that the debt was due to a fraudulant line, her demeanor became more rude and more demanding.  After deciding that she would not listen to my explanation that the matter had been taken care of, I hung up the phone and tried to dial the number.  It was unable to take incoming phone calls.  Then I looked online and found this page where I called 800-276-2423 and logged a formal complaint.

    This has just happened to me right now so I googled this information and there are not enough words to describe how irritated I am right now. This lady by the name of Emilia has called my parent's small business and first demanded to speak to accounts payable. I told her that person was not here. She flipped out and made racist and biased comments about my parents having a hispanic business with an american name. She was more than insulting. I'm filing more than a complaint. I am going to raise hell.

    Pissedup and off!
    They keep calling our business regarding an advertising bill that I assumed we paid off but has one individual pointed out even though you may have cancelled with them they still continue to bill you now they say we owe them $3,600.00. They have there nerve! Scare tactics dont work for me so I just tell them I will speak with someone in our company higher up and get back to them regarding a payment arrangment and never do! We will send them small increments every month

    This is your weapon to fight these and all others who think the average American do not know the laws that protect them. If we start applying this now maybe companies will think twice about their approach.

    1692c. Communication in connection with debt collection

    How Current is This? (a) Communication with the consumer generally
    Without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, a debt collector may not communicate with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt—
    (1) at any unusual time or place or a time or place known or which should be known to be inconvenient to the consumer. In the absence of knowledge of circumstances to the contrary, a debt collector shall assume that the convenient time for communicating with a consumer is after 8 o’clock antemeridian and before 9 o’clock postmeridian, local time at the consumer’s location;
    (2) if the debt collector knows the consumer is represented by an attorney with respect to such debt and has knowledge of, or can readily ascertain, such attorney’s name and address, unless the attorney fails to respond within a reasonable period of time to a communication from the debt collector or unless the attorney consents to direct communication with the consumer; or
    (3) at the consumer’s place of employment if the debt collector knows or has reason to know that the consumer’s employer prohibits the consumer from receiving such communication.
    (b) Communication with third parties
    Except as provided in section 1692b of this title, without the prior consent of the consumer given directly to the debt collector, or the express permission of a court of competent jurisdiction, or as reasonably necessary to effectuate a postjudgment judicial remedy, a debt collector may not communicate, in connection with the collection of any debt, with any person other than the consumer, his attorney, a consumer reporting agency if otherwise permitted by law, the creditor, the attorney of the creditor, or the attorney of the debt collector.
    (c) Ceasing communication
    If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt, except—
    (1) to advise the consumer that the debt collector’s further efforts are being terminated;
    (2) to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor may invoke specified remedies which are ordinarily invoked by such debt collector or creditor; or
    (3) where applicable, to notify the consumer that the debt collector or creditor intends to invoke a specified remedy.
    If such notice from the consumer is made by mail, notification shall be complete upon receipt.
    (d) “Consumer” defined
    For the purpose of this section, the term “consumer” includes the consumer’s spouse, parent (if the consumer is a minor), guardian, executor, or administrator.

    ATT is trying to hold me liable for a contract the prior owners signed in 2004 and fullfilled in 2007.  I cancelled my service to get 1/2 price through Comcast and they sent me a bill for $500.00 less he credit I should have received back for $120.00 overpayment.  They are stating in now automatically renews without my consent or ever having my signature.

    This group of idiots at the laughable "lawfirm" of Prince Park & Assoc. is trying to bully me into paying with no proof of the debt.  My close friend and lawyer has asked me to get a copy of the contract as well as a contact name and address, they don't want to supply this.  I'm sure they're holed up in some cheesy tenement building eating big macs and laughing their fool heads off.  I'm also sure by the lack of intelligence in their speech, that they haven't paid a bill in a long time themselves!

    I say "Screw Them and AT&T"!  I'm sure there will be a stop to this eventually.

    I had ATT DSL service for about 8 months. I cancelled the service, moved, sent them proof of moving and the charges kept coming. I contacted them multiple times and asked them to send me a final bill with adjusted charges since I had not been at the old place for almost a year. They agreed to take away the charges and cancel my account. Now I am getting a call from this place saying I owe way more than they had told me I had my final bill at. I told them this, and they said that I would have to contact ATT. I didnt let this representative talk too much as I am pretty good with words. Just dont let them speak and tell them what to do and they will stop bothering you.

    I got a call from a woman, who left a message, as I generally don't answer calls I don't recognize. came from 704-815-0158 but she gave me the number 704-246-2472, with a long "case number" I should reference when calling back. And to ask for Nicole. Well, I didn't, because I went online instead and found all of this info regarding that number! I never HAD AT&T service. I might have had it years ago in NYC, but it wouldn't be under the name she asked for, it would have been under my full name. And, not so sure it was in my name, I think it was under my roommates. I don't have a hospital bill...I'm good on all credit cards... have debt, but I pay on time... SO what the hell? My girlfriend says she'll call for me, I'm too suspicious of scams...

    these people call my home alot but we never answer calls from numbers we don't know because there are alot of different numbers with different names that come up on caller id that have people doing this for different reasons, they not only say they are collections, some have said they are finance companies trying to get you to give them your banking info or credit card info. they tri to tell you they can refinance your home loan or what ever with a lower rate just to get this info, so please goggle any unknown name or number before giving any info, and also report all these numbers to the fcc

    These people call me every single day as well. First off it's a restricted number, so I continue to just answer and hang up on them. They call continuesly and then call from the 704#. I just keep answering and hanging up and eventually they stop after about the 5th time and I don't hear from them until the next day. I am getting sick of this. I just got a new number, so I'm sure that they're trying to get ahold of the previous owner of the number, but who knows. It's getting old and annoying and it needs to stop!
