WHY are you even snooping around in your STEP daughter's phone for anyway? Is she over 18? If she is,then that's her bussiness.Maybe it's her boyfriend....anyway,U cant call back a prison number inmates cannot receive calls from any source. If she's young and u think she's at risk,then ask her straight out who she's seeing? check the  senders name/address on all her incomming mail & u will then find out who & what prison....otherwise-relax! not all crims are bad people! the worst ppl are out here,loose on the street abusing animals killing & eating them torturing them for their fur/skin/flesh/milk/babies etc...

How can a California state prison inmate make a collect call direct to my home phone in Sydney, Australia? He cannot get through to an operator to make the connection....I'm not paying them prepaid sites like "PrisonCalls.com" I spent $7,500 Australian dollars in less than 3 months on their [***] service. Please help! :)

The man that called said that a female friend or family member  was in jail and had been beaten up by the police.  She asked him to call me and give me this other phone #213-908-9307 but he could or would not give me a person's name to verify if it was a hoax or truth.  He was very polite but said that he is also incarcerated and only had a booking number for her not her name.  Too much of what he said made me question it more and not want to make the call.  Since I answered the first call, there have been three more calls from Global Tel Link and I have not answered them but they do not leave a message.

Scam!!!!! All your incoming calls are now rerouted to another number and recycles every day

At 10:30 p.m I started receiving phone calls from Global Tel Link. After the 3rd one I answered and accepted the call not knowing anyone in jail but maybe a friend that got picked up for a dui. I was told by a so called messenger that he had been given my number to call by an inmate they'd just brought in who was in serious condition involving a wreck he'd caused. I was then given this No. 721 323 921 3800 with the name of contact Sgt. Johnson and the inmate was in 77B. Scared me to death. Thank God I have the internet and was able to find this info. I will be able to sleep tonight.

Received a call at 7:09 p.m. It was a recorded message saying it was a collect call from Denver Detention Center and the caller was; At that point, someone said a name but there was so much static I could not tell what they were saying. Then the recording said "your phone carrier does not allow you to accept collect calls press one if you wish to accept this call.  I pressed 1. A new recording came on stating that since your carrier does not allow you to accept collect calls, you can set up an account using a credit card to accept collect calls. To do so, please call 866-230-7761 to set up your account.  To continue, please stay on the line or hang up now.  I hung up. My husband said he heard something on the news about a scam trying to get credit card information like this.

quit calling my phone number i don't know no one in jail or prison. i have no intention of talking to no one there. stop harassing me on the phone. i'm on the don't call list and don't want no more calls to my phone . i don't know how you got my number, but stop calling it

Three calls from 713 area code between 1:15 & 1:35 AM and one much later that morning.  My cell phone has a 707 area prefix and the call said it was coming from the Solano County (local to my phone) jail.  On the first 'collect' call I, I simply hung up.  The second went to voice mail.  And after the third, I just turned the thing off.  Thought it was a scam as both myself and family have left that area.  The next day we looked up the area code and concluded that it was not a legitimaate call.  I hate to think what might have been charged to my phone if I had opted to 'accept' the collect call.

The message left on my answering machine started with the name of the prison in Los Angeles where my husband was recently incarcerated. It said the call was prepaid & that if I wished to accept the call to dial 0. It said if I wanted to block inmate calls dial 7. I am separated from my husband & haven't spoken for over 7 months.

i have gotten  over 15 calls in a period of 3 days idk watz going on it tells me set up an account and they need my credit card number is it a scam or not?

it was from los angeles county central mens jail idk any 1 in there y call me so many times.. does any 1 kno cut off time for inmates there last call was at 1020 getting suspecious?

Global Tel Link is not a scam company. It's a call service used for inmates from prisons. A family member of mine is in prison and calls my mom through this company all the time. Some inmates call and scam you into dialing *72 followed by a telephone number and it will forward all calls to another number, but you'll be charged.

Grow up? Seems like dating individuals who are in jail are the grown up thing to do right?
just because your boy's in jail & he called u from this # doesn't mean this system can't be setup to be used as a scam. And how are people suppose to know that someone they know is in jail if they don't take the call?
How about you get a clue & let people go about their business.

Caller calls claiming that they are with unknown person taken to hospital in an emergency.  Call is totally bogus, designed to inflict fear and horror to recipient of call
