Called and an automated voice read out a numeric code, repeated it and rang off.  It was a verification code for hotmail.

yea they tried to get 150.00  from me = said they were microsoft and had locked my computer to per vent damage to it and the net work

My home in far out suburban area is being cased out, have them on camera footage.  Calls with a hang up from this # on our phone.  Are they checking who is not at home?

why am I receiving this call and what issue is this code being sent for?

Someone hacked my hotmail account and changed the password. In order to get in a form came up when i requested to change password,aking if they could call me with a verification code. Before using the code i decided to check this number. The reports here are mixed so I'm not sure what to do.

Have you gone to the official Microsoft web site?  Have you contacted them directly?  If those are scammers sending that code your password will be changed and you will never get back in.  They will hijack your email to send spam out and to gather up all your contacts so that they can scam them as well using your email.

I got a call and i was not near the phone but the phone call was taken for 20 seconds!!!! And Line app sent me a message saying that someone is trying to verify my phone from another line app on another device plus some of my apps are getting pressed on as if someone is accessing tgem:( what should I do?!!!!

So you decided that since it was a legitimate call you'd take the time and go on sites that report scammers to report a non-scam, legit number... on a SCAM REPORTING site... do I have that right? AND you want us to call them back? When everyone on this board knows that legit code-giving calls are automated computer voices with random number generators, and there is no call back available. You went on several sights with this exact same [***]? Do you think we're all that stupid?  SO BOTTOM LINE, the Scammers are now trolling the scam reporting sites to convince everyone the numbers they're using aren't scam! WOW, what a world I live in.

They called me this morning with a code.  I don't know who they are. I called back (sorry I ever answered) and they specifically give no information or number to call for a person.

Think this number is getting SPOOFED.
