I received the same text saying i had won a walmart gift card and the name was Adrian which is nothing close to my name.

Got the same text that everyone else got. Called the number just to see where they got my info. The guy answered with just a "Hello?" and then he said I had received the text bc I had won something. I asked him how I won without entering. He said I had probably made a purchase with my BANK CARD at one of their related companies, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, or something like that, and my PIN # had been selected. Now how in the hell did they get my pin #? Isn't that illegal? Well, then he went on to say that I did not have to do anything else to get my card, but that I did have to pay $9.95 to receive it. That fee was to ship it, and activate it. I asked him why they charged to activate a gift card, and why I had to pay for a free card. He said it was to ensure I received it. I said I wasn't doing that. He said "Oh you can't afford $9.95 for this?" I said "Nope", and that I was reporting this to the BBB. He quickly got off the phone then!

I got a message from a jerk saying i would be receiving a 200 dollar voucher for wal mart all i have to do is give my credit card info. for a 9 dollar  shipping fee.  I figured it was a scam when the foreigner couldnt even tell me what company he worked for. He also got agitated Very easy which by then I knew it was a scam.

The best thing to do with this people, get an air horn and call them up and when they answer, let the horn rip.  It will be very loud and hopefully damage their hearing and they decide to get a real job.  They are low life scum and could careless what happens to them.

I got the same text message about the Walmart gift card only the message was sent to my boyfreinds phone and I called and it is deffinately a scam. The person on the other end of the phone was definately a forginer and I could barely understand a word that he said and had him to repeat the information and the second time he decided to go into more detail and I told him I was not interested and he hung up on me.  Please dont fall for this.  The phone number they gave to call was 1-877-232-5154.

Got a text from 729329. Mentioned a $200 gift card for Walmart. Obviously a scam. How can carriers permit these scammers to have a texting service? Not everyone can afford to get texting, especially solicitating texts.

i'm such an idiot. i gave them my card number but i quickly called my bank and closed my checking account.how could i fall for such a stupid scam. i'm in college for god sakes

729329 is from www.smsrevenues.com.  Their website doesn't say exactly what they do, but I reported them to the DONOTCALL website.

I also received a text from this number. The text I received read 'Thx 4 visiting our site Call 877-233-4972 to Claim Your FREE $200 Gift voucher to Walmart! GiftCode: 5180c7f Txt STOP2069 2Unsub' The abbreviations used in the text were an immediate indication that this was likely not from a legit operation. After looking around a bit on the web about this number I knew it was a con for sure. I called the number and a heavily accented man answered. I immediately told him to remove my number from their call list to which he very unenthusiastically said 'OK'. I was sure that he would take no action in removing my number so I text the unsubscribe code back. I received a reply text 'You have opted-out of PayDay SMS Revenue Alerts & will no longer receive msgs. Visit www.smsrevenues.com for more info.' I pointed my browser to the site and couldn't access it as though it was taken down or perhaps never existed. I did find that if you use www.smsrevenues.com/index.html, www.smsrevenues.com/privacy.html, or www.smsrevenues.com/terms.html you can access a site which I would assume to be related. Nothing much is located on these sites except for a bunch of legal jargon and not really anything that I found to be pertinent information. The option on the site to contact them is just an e-mail address that I would be willing to bet either doesn't exist or never gets read. My best guess is that this is a foreign operation that obtained phone numbers not through conventional means, like perchasing them, but rather directly from a phone book. I hope this doesn't become as common place as the African lottery e-mail scams. Those are annoying enough but with this I would definitely be changing my number to avoid constant text messages from con artists. Definite scam.

I got a similar text message form the smae number thanking me for visiting their site and telling me I have been nominated to Cambridge Who's who and asking me to visit their website www.cambridge2010.com. I texted "STOP" back to unsubscribed as indicated, they sent me back a message saying: "You have opted out of PayDay SMS Revenue Alerts & will no longer receive msgs. Visit www.smsrevenues.com for more info." I assume they do this to earn money when people reply to their messages. I am not sure but. I Got the 1st message a day after a payday company (All American) called me many times with an automated message to make me borrow money from them. Watch out.

The only place my phone number WAS listed was on a job search site! I've since hidden my numbers. I was getting texts from all kinds of places.

Didn't list a prize or anything. Just said I was entered in something.

I sent them the "stop" message as well and got a reply it was for payday sms revenue alerts and that their website is www.smsrevenues.com for more info.

i got w text saying i won a $200 walmart gift card. then my girlfriend used her credit card to pay the shipping free of 9 dollars , i was supposed to get the gift card almost a eek ago nothing came what should i do!!!! to stop this.

i don't card# out on phone.

Walmart gift card would be sent but they wanted CC Info for a $9,99 shipping fee. Not Happening! I did text back to unsub.
