Dickwads filling out entry forms and then bitching when they receive a call from the company.
Uh der. -don't fill out the forms. and YES, you did, or they wouldn't be calling you. - nef223Ok Since obviously no-one on here really knows what they are talking about - I'll inform you.
First off Cardida is a Resort Developing Company that has three resorts, two in Ohio, one in Florida. It's not a scam, hoax, timeshare, etc. Just about every mall in eastern ohio, western PA and northern WV has entry forms for the car/25000 giveaway. These forms are cardida's data entry forms and they do give away the prize along with several other smaller prizes. They do not however sell your names to others and only call from 2:30pm - 9:00pm sun - thursday.
They are calling you to schedule an appointment to tour one of their resorts. You will be asked if your interested in purchasing a membership during this tour, so if your not interested in a membership, you probably don't want to go.
The resorts have RV hookups, campgrounds & cabins, one has a water park, one a private lake, pools, games etc. If you like the outdoors or interacting with others while vacationing then answer and go see what they have to offer.
If your not interested - answer your phone and ask to be placed on their internal DNC list. That will stop the calls, otherwise you will be called 2-4 times a day for the next 10-15 days.
BTW - The national list does nothing because you have to sign the entry form which gives them permission to call you (read fine print and the back of the form)

- AnnWe signed up for a few things at an RV show, although don't specifically remember signing up for this. However, Cardida called and said that we won 40 nights camping ANYTIME for 1 year. All we had to do was tour Pymatuning Valley Resort in Ohio. Of course, we knew they were trying to sell something. But we thought, free camping, why not check it out.
Well, we got there and were told that we had won these 40 nights but it said that their members had first choice, and holidays and weekends may not be included. We say that maybe we can go on a weekend if there are any openings left. They guy says "no holidays or weekends." We point out that it says MAY not, and he kind of stutters and says, yea, maybe you might be able to. But he does not sound like we will be ever able to camp weekends. We work doing the week, and the weekends are the only times we have to camp. It did not sound like we would be able to even use this "prize" and we almost walked out right then but this was a 2-hour drive, and we were curious how much this deal was going to cost.
Well, after a tour of an average campground with campsites and cabins (that, I admit, were nice inside), the gameroom, etc, (that were not real clean) and a video of their other two campgrounds, another in Ohio and one in Florida, we could buy the "membership" for a mere 15,000-something and then STILL have to pay to camp with your RV (except the first 15 days) or if you stay in their cabins, you had to pay also. This was just for one campground if you did not purchase today and purchased later.
However, purchase TODAY, and you get to use all three campgrounds, get 3 life memberships (you can will it to your children or sell it), and they had extra things like you could rent a pontoon boat for the day, or go to certain campgrounds throughout the USA (Coast to Coast program. But you have to pay for EVERYTHING. Yea, it's cheaper than you normally would but you are paying a huge amount of money for the membership AND there is also a maintenance fee (about $350) that you have to pay EVERY year to maintain the campground.
Of course, when we did not look too keen on the whole idea, they said that they would "buy back" (like we ever paid to begin with) certain parts of the program, such as the 3 lifetime memberships. They would buy 2 back (so you have the one) for something like $1000 (I can't remember exact numbers but wish I would have asked to keep the paper that they wrote all the figures on!) They kept subtracting parts of the program until they had it down to a tiny $6000, which they wanted to finance for us at 18%. I don't think so.
We told them that we have certain campgrounds we like to go to and none of them were in the "coast to coast" program, and we did not prefer to spend most of our time at these campgrounds, plus the price was ridiculous. We also told them it was very misleading to tell us we won 40 free days of camping ANYTIME when it was only during the weekdays which is nearly impossible for us and if we are taking a whole week, we indeed would be going someplace much nicer (our favorite - the beach and ocean).
Oh, and the original card they gave us at the beginning of the tour with the free 40 days DID say, The members would have first choice and that holidays and weekends MAY not be available. But when the guy took our card to validate it, he came back with a DIFFERENT card that said holidays and weekends WILL not be available. They switched the cards on us, and we did not figure it out until we left. Both of us knew we read the word MAY, and I had carried that card through the tour and it got wrinkled. This was a new unwrinkled card. Wish we would have caught that when we were there.
Oh well, don't think we'll be going there again and hope to warn other people to just say "no thanks." - bkki keep getting calls all day from this place too. wish they would stop. how can we stop them???
- PaulThey've been calling me non stop on my cell phone. They never leave a message and they don't answer when I pick up. ANNOYING!

- JackThe previous comments are simply uninformed. The company only calls people who have entered one of our contests and have given us permission to call them, and only then until they have been spoken to once. The company does NOT make "cold calls", and it absolutely respects the federal and state do-not-call-lists. We do not use machines for the calling, and if anybody believes that we make uninvited calls to anyplace then they just don't understand all the rules of the workplace in today's world.
As to the long letter above, the writer would have a hard time explaining why we have thousands of satisfied members. It didn't cost him anything to look, and many people are using the same free offer that he spurned. The company has been in business over 20 years and given away over $2,000,000 in prizes to "lookers". In fact, out of our many $25,000 winners, not one has ever bought anything from us and they don't have to! A better source of information, if one is looking for it, might be the BBB or, if you get an invitation, come out and see for yourself and then write something nice if we deserve it.- Caller: Cardida Corp
- donI get these illegal calls too. I will not and refuse to answer my phone They have no right to call because I am on the no-call list. I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General office and they called me. They are in the process of subpoening them.

- GlenAlright folks, I am here to set the record straight. First off we (Cardida Resort Group )are NOT a scam in anyway shape or form, You are receiving calls from us because YOU filled out an entry form to win a new car or $25,000.00 in cash. It plainly states on the entry form that you will receive a call from one of our representatives concerning taking a tour of one of our resorts.
We do not buy nor sell your information to anyone. It also states that by filling out the entry form that you are giving us permission to call you EVEN if you are on the Do Not Call list. We adhere to the strict policies of the FCC and the better business bureaus ( The BBB is basically a useless entity in it's self, due to the fact that you pay to be a member. the more you pay, the better your rating) And the reason we don't leave messages is because that anyone can check an answering machine, so if someone other than the person that ACTUALLY filled out the entry form would happen to check it and delete it, there's goes a potential winner and customer down the drain. We DON'T ask you for any info. we are just verify what's already on the form, which YOU filled out to begin with. It is the most cost-effective way to market the resorts. Basically word of mouth advertising. We don't charge you for the tours, there are no hidden cost for taking the tour. as far as the AWARDS are concerned you don't win the awards you EARN them by taking the tour of the resort, You are under no obligation to purchase ANYTHING at anytime to receive these AWARDS. Listen I am not telling anyone to stop filling out the entry forms, I am just saying that you should completely read the form before you do fill it out. We as a company have to abide by all FCC rules and regulations. As far as the rudeness is concerned, I personally will and have fired people for being rude to the customers ( There's always a bad apple or two in any business and we and I do are absolute best to weed out the bad ones. So if you happen to receive a call from us go ahead pick-up the phone and listen to what we have to say, you might just find yourself 25k richer. And besides the Resorts are top-notch camping resorts that just may interest you. Believe me folks we work our tails off to make a living and to ensure that your visit is a pleasant one. - AnonymousEntered at hobby show at IX Center. They call 2 to 3 times a day and leave no message. Glad I googled this site! Will continue to ignore.

- chrisThis is not a scam this is how we do are advertising for the resorts. We are just hoping people like "us" and come back out and have some fun. But if you are not a outdoors kinda person. Then i know you are not going to like it. But people who are, will like us. So to the ones who does like us "thanks" for coming out. The ones who doesn't i'm sorry its not your cup of tea. Maybe you are the type of person who likes sitting at home with a good book. But for the rest we have to be out doing something. That's what the resort is for. For people to get out and do something with there lives and just have fun doing that. On that note don't judge us by what people say, come out and see for yourself then make your judgement. Because if we listen to what everyone says and don't experience it for ourself then life would be very dull. Almost like being android. Doing what everyone tells ya what to do. WHAT KIND OF LIFE IS THAT. EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOU. NOT THEM.
- ST88| 2 repliesWell after doing a lot of investigating and seeing how many complaints there are about this company, I hope to get to the bottom of it all. I am in the process of securing an attorney to represent my sister who has been hassled relentlessly by this company, bullied into a $500 deposit but then deprived of ever being able to use the membership! To top it off, she was sent a registered letter yesterday stating that she was being taken to court by the Cardida Group for a $5k membership that she supposedly committed to and that her wages would be garnished!
If Cardida was a smart and valid business operation they would have done a credit check and realized that my sister (God lover her) was not a qualified customer for this sale and there is no way that a $5k commitment could ever have been honored on the $260 a week salary that she earns!!!
Shame on The Cardida Resort Group for following the same business model as all of the greedy Mortgage Lending groups that are the cause of our now ruined economy!! I believe that Cardida preyed on a single Mom's dream to have something nice for once!! We will see them in court!!!
