I signed up to win a car at the mall also, and was contacted by Cardida. However, upon touring their resort, I was very impressed by what they had to offer. I signed up for the vacation/resort timeshare and have been very pleased. If you like to travel and get away for a while this is NOT a bad offer. If you're not into traveling, I can see why you would be annoyed. But I have used the resort several times and enjoyed every minute of it. I took one vacation so far using the timeshare and was very happy with the savings on airfare, hotel and car rental. You're not limited to one location for your timeshare, you can travel anywhere in the world. This is NOT a scam, Cardida really does have something nice to offer. Give them a break...

To the guy whose sister makes $260.00 a week, why did she sign up for something she couldn't pay for working at Mcdonald's. It's not Cardida's fault that she bit of more of a Big Mac than she could chew....!!!!!

    Fight Back!
My husband and I just received a phone call from these folks.  To make a long story short, hubby was actually falling for it and asked if I wanted to go to their place next Monday night.  I told him to ask a few questions, get the name and number of the guy, and that we'd look into it.  (I told him that I thought it just might be a SCAM, so we should look into it and call them back.)  He collected a name and number, said he'd call back, and hung up the phone.  Then, we did an Internet search, and found this site (among many others) that all said the same things.  Thank you Internet! Thank you people!  Thank you freedom of speech!  You saved us from who knows what.

After reading many postings from frustrated people, I thought I'd share the details that I collected.  If you like the idea of dishing back a taste of what they did to you...be it lost or wasted money, wasted time, or an annoying phone call...perhaps you might want to call Mike from Candida Corp Awards Center, asking him to buy some of your daughter's girl scout cookies (at least they taste pretty good).  740-439-0810.

    P. S.  I love the posting I read about a guy that told them that he lived out of his car which made them stop calling his cell phone.

    Your Name
I can understand why some don't like their phone tactics for getting business. but really, you signed an entry form that you more likely didn't READ in the first place and you were put on their mailing list. That's reality.  If they call, tell them to put you on the their DNC list.  That simple. In reality, the resort is nice if you like to camp.  I just stayed there this weekend for the first time and was very impressed.  Camp ground was nice and quiet, lots of activities, buildings were all new or newer, the shower houses were nice and clean. I can't complain.  Yes you pay a yearly fee, but add it up folks, what OHIO state park can you go to for under $35 a night that has these amenities and Big Joe is lurking around the corner!!  You get 15 free camping uses. That comes out to about $23 a night to pay off your year fee then it's about $3 a day! I'll take $3 any day and twice on Sunday.

HI everyone....I see everyone upset over this. I just want to say, that I am the first one to hang up on telemarketers etc. I hate them, but for some reason, I thought I would give these guys a chance. Certain ones are ligit you know. In Florida, when we lived there, we went to disney 2 tickets free, and free night stay at resort, just to hear their sales pitch. Heck we did! We had a beautiful time saved hundreds of dollars and it was easy, at the time we were not interested in time share of any kind, so we flat out told them, and boom, they said enjoy your hot breakfast buffet, and have a great time. Well anyways, we went to Grand Haven Resort and we had a very nice day, everyone was great, especially our salesman Ron. My husband and I don't have a lot of money, my husband has had 3 kidney transplants (kidneys failed at age 18 from strep throat undiagnosed), so you can imagine our extra expenses. I work at a casino as a dealer, and make ok money. This was actually something, after seeing and hearing about it, that we would love to do, nice for families, and when and if we retire some day! haha We went thinking we will have a nice day, check it out, take our free gifts and go home. What a pleasant surprise, they made it work for us! We now are partial owners of resorts all over the U.S. and several other countries. We can take a beach vacation right on the beach for around $8- $20 a day in a great condo! If you would hear them out, it is an awesome deal..we will pay $130/mo for five years and we are in for life! We can leave this to our son for his family someday, paid in full! They have resorts all over! The ohio ones are nice though, and any of the resorts you can fish without fishing license, and rent big pontoon boats for you family for like $20 for the whole day! Many more great things about it...too many to list...but my husband and I plan to rent these places out and save the money for our retirement, and then travel, and possibly live in one of the resort parks. I am an honest hardworking person, who would like to see others experience this, if your into it give it a shot! Oh, I won a 2 night 3 day free hotel with like 20 destinations to choose from, and 4 beautiful prints I can frame and hang in my home. Goodluck to you all.

My wife and I made the mistake of getting involved with this group three years ago. It is a total waste of money but we are struck with the agreement right now. We are checking with an attorney to see what are options are. We have paid in over 4500.00 and gotten less than 300.00 dollars value. It is a big rip off and urge anyone who gets the offer to hang up and put these people on do not call register. They will even come back at you for a second time if you let them. This is a real scam be careful.

I would like to correct my statement, we pay $130/mo. for 1 yr. and then the $332 ea. year after that. I would think that one vaction rental on the beach each year would be worth more than that, and it just depends if you want to travel, or just get away once in a while, or for the summer...do any of those things and it will be worth my $332 and then some. Thanks Laura

I purchased this membership and I have not used it or gotten my money's worth. I feel I was treated dishonestly.  I recently became aware of a group of around 20 people who are pursuing legal options to try and prevent this from happening to others in the next few weeks.  If you are a member of Grand Haven and would like more information about this, please email bcs@uweekly.com.  This is an urgent matter and will be acted upon in the next few weeks.  Please respond by August 1st.  If after August 1st you can respond as well and I can keep you updated on the progress.

Hi,  I was interested in finding out if the attorney you hired was able to help your sister.  It is my understanding in Ohio if you sell something to someone that they know cannot not afford it that the contract can be voided by law. I have heard of several lawsuits being filed against this outfit for less than ethical practices..

People need to realize they usually are going to get something cheap as a prize when going to a sales pitch like this.  They should also figure on some very high pressure sales tactic.  Though sometimes they have been unethical in the fact they pressure people who they know cannot afford it but will do anything to make a sale.  If people knew this was against the law and that there is a law that states if you knowingly sell someone this who you know cannot afford it they are in violation and if more people knew this they could get out of the mess and get there money returned.  Check with an attorney if you are in this situation.
Grand haven was a good place but this new company Legacy developement is taking it down fast.   They are mistreating deeded interst owners.  They have so many members fuming right now.  They try to get members down there to give up there deeds and pay over 4000.00 to boot for a 99 year lease and promise you a chance to do away with your maintenance fees if you can con two other suckers into buying a 99 year lease from them.  If you do not wish to go along with their scheme they treat you like you are a D.A. and tell you they will throw assessments on you and raise the fees and make lots of money off you.  Highly unethical and should be and most likely against the law.
I would like for an employee or management get on here and defend there actions.  They seem to wish to keep important information as to minutes of the board away from members. WHY?? Is there something to hide.  No wonder many of the members are seeking attorneys to file a lawsuit. I read somewhere of a class action.I suggest all who feel as though they were mistreated to find out what their rights are.  As I understand it the State Attorney Generals office has been notified.  The BBB has numerous complaints and other blogs tell of lawsuits happening.  It is unfortunate this new company is coming in and doing this.  They have already taken some of the benifits that we had as soon as they took over as well as nearly doubling some of the rates.  How do they sleep at night!  It is good to see that maybe people will now be taking a stand and standing up for their rights against the new owners and the old as I have heard it still may have an interest in it.  Perhaps the employee can get on here and clarify things. Better yet how about someone in managent addressing this.  To the supposed emplyee who responded here pass that along to your upper management.

We bought into the scam too unfortunately.  I am working on finding a way out. So far I have heard of a class action lawsuit against them but have not found out the lawyers name yet.  We could always get another group together and go after them with another lawyer.

I have heard the same thing as well.  There is a group that hired a lawyer and are filing a class action lawsuit against the resort.  We could always get another group up and going and hire another lawyer. If you have a group it makes the lawyer costs cheaper.

Hello all disgruntled owners and members,
We all turn to attorneys thinking that we can trust those who are unlicensed by any branch of the state government. Would you trust your life with an unlicensed doctor? How about your new home being built by scab labor with no license? I have seen many of these situations over the years, before you consider even talking to an attorney, consider three things. Cost, Cost, Cost! Who wins in the end? If you sue the developer, your suing yourself in this matter. Monies will be taken from what your resort has to work with now. The biggest concern is the attorney. If you really think sales people lie, think again. You have "no" legal recourse against an attorney who will benefit more than any member or owner. Best results will be, force company into bankruptcy, attorney gets paid, you loss everything you have invested in the resort and resort is sold to new owners. NOW HOW SMART is that? You really need to address your issues in writing to the corporate office. If you would like to test my analogy, file suit against any attorney and see if you can beat the system of the brotherhood. What you will find out real fast, is YOU DON"T HAVE A CHANCE! Attorney's today are concerned about one thing and one thing only, THEIR WALLETS! If being an attorney is such a great service and profession, why are they "NOT" licensed by a "BRANCH" of the state government like "ALL" other "LEGAL" professions?
