They call in evening.  The last call was 7:15 p.m., and I didn't answer it.  They did not leave a message.

I've been reading complaints concerning this number going back through 2011 and earlier.  Why hasn't someone shut this number down?!

Recd call yesterday.  I did not answer.  No voice mail or text was left.

I worked for Issues and answers for awhile to help pay for college. The reason a message is never left is that the client who hired Issues and answers to do the survey did not want a message to be left. If the client wants a message to be left they will provide a script for the dialers to leave on the answering machines. If you do not answer the call you will be called again. If it goes to voicemail or answering machine, you will be called again. As for people not answering when you pick up? I don't know, crappy employee probably.
Sometimes you receive several calls on the same night that is because the numbers for that specific survey get re-dialed. all the "no-answers" and "answering machines" get re-dialed once all the numbers in a specific sample are dialed. For instance, if there are 100 numbers in one sample (there are usually a few samples for each survey) once those are dialed through the numbers that are not "completes" (meaning, completed surveys) get re-dialed. The surveys can cover all time zones including Hawaii and Alaska and at the call center I worked in we called until 9:30 in every time zone. How do they get the numbers? an area code is put into the computer and it randomly generates them for each sample. Sometimes, when they are asking for people by name (always my least favorite to do) that is from a list provided by the client. As a dialer, I never knew who the client was for any of the surveys. Sometimes it was pretty obvious in the case of political polls but they still never told us who was sponsoring any of the surveys. It is annoying.
It is very annoying. I know, I get the calls just like the rest of you. The reason these complaints go back so far and nothing has been done is because this is a perfectly legitimate company. Sure, they are annoying as an ingrown hair on your toe but everything they are doing is perfectly legal. So, if you are able, next time just politely decline to do the survey and that should do the trick. If not then get in contact with HQ you can find the info on the website. As for any scam or anything shady like that using this number I don't know. I have only known that number to be associated with Issues and Answers.
